The FA have this afternoon confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match ban for violent conduct following an altercation with Tyrone Mings during Manchester United’s weekend draw against Bournemouth.

Today’s news is set to have a major effect on the Fantasy Premier League transfer market as we look for alternatives to the 34.9% owned Red Devils frontman.

Ibrahimovic will miss the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final match against Chelsea, in addition to United’s next two Premier League fixtures against Middlesbrough and West Brom, before returning to contention in time for the Gameweek 31 home encounter with Everton on Tuesday, April 4.

Devoid of a Gameweek 28 fixture as a result of that Chelsea encounter, the Swede – who has scored just once in his last five league appearances – was already the number one asset for transfers out since the weekend deadline passed.

Over 34,000 former Ibrahimmovic owners have made the move to Harry Kane – Spurs may also without a league match this weekend but they then face Southampton and Burnley while the Swede spends his enforced time on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, 31,000+ have swapped him out for Romelu Lukaku as Everton host West Brom this weekend in the first of four favourable home fixtures in six, while Swansea’s Fernando Llorente – with five goals in six – has been an automatic replacement for over 14,000 FPL managers ahead of a weekend trip to Hull.

Arguably, the lack of viable options up top for a four-match Gameweek 28 slate may somewhat limit the exodus over the next few days, yet with the likes of Diego Costa facing Stoke and Palace over Gameweek 29-30, we can expect the transfers out to intensify next week once all the big guns are back in contention.

Nonetheless, as one of just three sides with two fixtures still to be scheduled – along with Arsenal and Southampton – there’s no doubt that the Swede still has a major part to play later in the season once the double Gameweeks are finally scheduled.

Lukaku in for sure for me, although once we know future DGWs that could change again considering his GW30/31 fixtures.

Martins Indi's potential absence will make Stoke's defence much weaker than before.

      Perfect platform for Aguero!!! 😎

Am I right in thinking that taking hits this GW is only good if we intend to keep the players long term. I know I asked this in last post but want some more responses

I'm using hits if I plan to keep for a couple of weeks, i.e. Llorente, King and Coleman.

I do it to double up Everton def with Funes Mori, 2 points for sure, decent chance for sth more. Don't have other defenders playing and getting rid of Ake.

Kane, Lukaku and Llorente for me. Latter to Gabbiadini probably in a couple of weeks.

So, with this in mind: Carroll vs Llorente for the next two/three gameweeks?

Both have Bournemouth (A) in the next two, with Carroll also having Leicester (H) vs Llorente's Hull (A). The latter has the better form. But given the popularity of Siggy, is an attacking Swansea double-up too much?

I got Llorente. Very boring, but because he's got probably the best 28 and 29 before I go with the rest of the herd and bring Gabbiadini in - he's a good placeholder.

I already own Carroll. So will be holding on until GW 31. He has good fixtures until then.

But the downside is that he can get injured any moment.

        Thanks guys.

I was leaning Llorente myself, and it does seem to be the popular opinion - but Carroll seems like quite a nice differential in a gameweek where most teams are going to be converging upon a similar lineup.

Will enough people now sell Ibra that Kun won't fall 0.2 before Saturday!? Took Zlatan out to catch Llorente rise, hoping Kun would stay at what I bought him in on...

People who own both Kun and Ibra will surely sell Ibra now instead, so should slow Kuns drop... I hope so anyway, I'm holding him for a few weeks now probably.

This. Sanchez was sold heavily and took a very long time to drop. Price change sites got it very wrong.

They've been screwed for a while now actually - I've had Siggy on +100% to rise on fffix for ages (finally happened last night), and fplstats was reporting Llorente at over 100% on occasion a couple of nights ago but didn't. Maybe it's just wildcards screw it up a bit?

It does seem like there is something weird about the dropping algorithms this season.

They have. Sanchez got to -400% before dropping. The accuracy has been way off this season. WCs don't account for the massive number by which they have been off, probably part of the problem, but I think FPL changes the numbers required as the number of active players goes down across the season.

                "Update 6th Mar 2017

Almost certain now that new price change rules have been implemented for this season. These are currently affecting the transfers for both blank and double game week players. I don't want to make any code or database changes until the new rule conditions are fully understood. Hopefully some illumination may occur from the price changes overnight. Currently, the new rules are impacting players from teams who do not have a game during the next game week. Please treat any player who does not have a game next week and is currently predicted to rise / fall with caution. You have been warned!!!''

Anyone keeping Zlatan? He will miss 2 PL games, but will probably need to get him back after that, as they will have 2 DGWs, right?

there are a few weeks until the DGWs for you to get him back, and in that time Lukaku plays home games vs. Burnley and Leicester.

Nah, his price will drop so genuinely zero reason to keep him when someone else can get you points in the meantime.

Back in for the DGWs, if not before.

In addition, I am also curious to see how the trouble within the fan base and squad pan out. Few more losses and Wenger will really be in a tough situation with a demotivated squad.

I think this is my plan for now. Any thoughts on it? Thanks

          Aguero + Sterling + Sane + Capoue --> Llorente + Firmino + Siggy + King (-12)

Leaving me enough cash in the bank to do Carroll --> Kane week after..

Ouchie! How many will you have in 28 if you take the -12?

I get Kane, but do you need the huge hit?

              • 12 Years

I 'only' field 10. But I much rather get a nearly full squad instead of benching Sterling or Sane that I dont think are essential at all. I think this is a good opportunity to do a mini wildcard since the hits are effectively just -2.

Perhaps - it depends on your motivation I suppose, in my ML there's a tight chase at the moment so points mean prizes, even if you're logically correct that a hit = -2!

Those are definitely good moves anyway. As I said, it depends why you're doing them... is it that once you pop, you just can't stop? 😉

I think I do it because I rather have Firmino and Siggy over Sterling and Sane over the next games. Aguero is simply not worth it unless you need a differential and going for Llorente frees up money to get Kane later. King in for Capoue who is useless is a no-brainer in my book. This week we can do this moves for -2 and it is also a lot more fun to field a full squad.

Sound reasoning - yeah, I'm basically storing money in Kun and Sterling before moving them on for Eriksen and Kane for 29! Just don't want to spend too much, plus I figure 10+Amat is cool anyway if the majority have only 6-7 players.

It's a huge hit. It depends largely on how long you are planning to keep these new players. You don't want further hits to remove them.

Yes, similar. I have Siggy Amat and Carroll so a bit hamstrung for Swansea assets.

            Guys, what's the best here?

            Randolph / Jaku
Brunt RFM Amat / Pieters Alonso
Siggy Antonio Mane Fletcher / Sterling
            Kaku(c) Llorente / Kun
            0FT

            A) Pieters -> Coleman -4
            B) Sterling -> Coutinho -4
            C) Just have 9 (+Amat)?

Thinking A at the mo is better in the short term, cos Everton have Hull home next time out as well, and Coleman looking lively.

            Thanks!

Definitely A. With homegames against Brom and Hull in the next two, you'll get those points back no problem.

Thanks Prokop - I think that's what I've settled on too, I did like Barkley actually but I am taking out Sterling for Eriksen anyway in 29, and noticed Pieters has a poor fixture, so I thought I might as well get Coleman in plus bank my massive 0.1 profit on big Erik!

Kane, Gabbiadini, Llorente be enough up top from gwk 30, or will another big hitter be needed?

Fan of Costa Kane Gabbiadini, but Kaku has 2 decent fixtures in 32-33 so I might go without dirty Diego. Kane and Gabs I think are must haves, though, at this current point in time.

I like Olsson, seems to be the poor man's Alonso from the attacking runs he's making, and they are clearly using him as an outlet

Sorry for asking this again, but who do you think is a better option for GW 28 and also for the next few weeks collectively; Carroll or Llorente?

I know Llorente has better form but Carroll v BOU is a better option than Llorente v hul, isn't he?

Llorente is my placeholder til 30 when he becomes Gabbiadini - fancy them to string something together from 28+29, and the big man is combining well with Siggy.

Ibra was supposedly "The Best Option" vs BOU, such that people did not sell him despite blanks. Personally, I feel the rise of Hul is a bit exaggerated. So, my answer is: Llorente

I'd say in principle, yes, given the propensity to score you points, however there's a big caveat in that I've made a lot of cash on him that could well be reinvested in better players elsewhere when I WC. No-one irreplaceable in practice! But in theory, yeah I'm assuming he could stay there all season.

or wait till gw29 and swap then for free, but loose some possible value drop in Ibra and price rise in Kane ?
