Eleven goals from the three matches – a hat-trick from a midfield differential and another double-digit return from Romelu Lukaku – with Liverpool’s attack yet to feature, Gameweek 28 looks destined to punch well above its weight.

Brought in by more than 143,000 ahead of Gameweek 28, second only to Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson among midfielders, Bournemouth’s Josh King is clearly the headline act so far.

It all started disastrously for King’s legion of new owners, with the Norwegian calmly side-footing his early spot-kick wide to register a -2 deficit.

However, he was to recover spectacularly, notching only the second hat-trick by an FPL midfielder this season, only falling short of matching Alexis Sanchez’ Gameweek 14 tally of 23-points due to his early penalty miss.

Deployed in a central striker role in recent matches, King was again played in the No 10 position behind Benik Afobe but found his route to goal nonetheless.

Incredibly, he has now produced eight goals in his last seven Gameweeks and looks an assured starter and vital source of goals for the Cherries for the remainder of the season.

The fixture list may stiffen, but King’s potential to go on providing points for a price tag of just 5.5 will surely drive an instant boom in ownership.

Already more than 10,000 have made the move ahead of the Gameweek 29 home meeting with Swansea City – only Spurs’ Harry Kane has seen more transfers since today’s 2pm deadline.

The availability such a budget midfield option, potentially playing in a striker’s role, could now raise further doubts on relying on a three-man forward line.

Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini will be targeted by many once he returns to action but, arguably, with such value available in midfield, there remains a strong case for the 3-5-2.

Certainly, Lukaku looks destined to remain part of our strike force, regardless of formation. He also played a key role in ensuring that the Gameweek 28 tallies will be higher than perhaps expected.

The top captain pick, with 767,000 trusting the striker with the armband, he once again proved his new reassuring level of consistency, particularly at Goodison Park.

Scoring for the fifth consecutive home outing, Lukaku produced a seventh double-figure return and, regardless of the frenzied clamour for Kane ahead of Gameweek 29, his role in our squads surely cannot be questioned.

With three of the next five at home – against Hull City, Leicester City and Burnley – Lukaku will remain locked in and will likely challenge as a captaincy contender over those matches.

While there was disappointment, with Swansea City’s Fernando Llorente failing to provide for his 378,000 new owners having limped off with a dead leg, it seems likely that Gameweek 28 could yet supply some significant scores – particularly if the Liverpool midfield can sparkle at Anfield on Sunday.

Having been flattened by the paltry returns from Manchester City’s midweek failings, Gameweek 28 has already provided unexpected fireworks with Messrs Mane, Coutinho, and perhaps Firmino, yet to take the stage to follow King’s lead.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If you get someone like Walker it may be worth it to use your transfer otherwise just play them and use the transfer on your front 8

I will bring rose in as soon as he is back.
I will be bringing Kane for Costa that's sure.
If llorente isn't fit, then I would have to replace him. In that case brunt stays.

The pros seem to recover quickly. I've had a dead leg from playing and it took me much longer. My question is really whether it's a dead leg or a deep thigh bruise. The latter can really lock up on you.

      This season:

      Arsenal 3 - 4 Liverpool
      Liverpool 6 - 1 Watford
      Bournemouth 4 - 3 Liverpool
      Liverpool 2 - 2 West Ham
      Utd 1 - 1 Liverpool

Their home record + their scoring record on a Sunday was the reason I made Coutinho(c). With my luck though it will be a 0-0 or Mane will get all the points.

Try some other way. Wouldn't sell any of those.
If you can't find another way and have to remove one, Alonso.

I mean an attacker is more important than a defender right? Kane is an essential, I think Ill drop Pedro or Siggy

couthinho to pedro (still have mane for liverpool cover)

          I was thinking maybe Baines - > Valencia/Walker
          And Cout->Eriksen?

Obviously I have to bring in Sanchez at some point of time

if i was to have any spurs mid it would be Alli - his form in his last 10 games is sickening, 10 goals and 2 assits in 11 games against eriksens 0 goals 8 assists in 11.

baines to valencia is a good move if hes ruled out - valencia has minimum 2 x DGWs maybe a third is they beat chelsea today

Shameless repost to try and get more opinions :
Ok so I'm going through what I think is my worst spell ever in my 9 years playing FPL : I went from 12k in GW10 to 326k today.

I would really need your help.

So here's my team as it stands :
      Heaton Pickford
      Luiz Coleman Baines Francis Amat
      Mané Coutinho Eriksen Phillips Capoue
      Aguero Lukaku Rondon

Out of this lot, the only ones who are kind of worth keeping IMO are : Heaton, Pickford, Coleman, Mané, Coutihno, Eriksen, Lukaku

My plan all along was to wait until the big double gameweek was announced to use my second WC, but with all the dead wood I'm carrying I'm afraid I'm going to have to reconsider and use it sooner.

So my question is : should I WC ASAP or try to keep it a bit longer and take a few hits here and there?

always try and keep WC, its tempting to use it after a bad week or few injuries racking up but the potential to use is GW36 and BB GW37 outways your issues now

Good call, Kane is coming in for Kun this week.
          Rondon to Gabbiadini is next.
Just need to find a replacement for Phillips.

Also need to decided whether I want to take hits doing it all at once or spread the transfers over several weeks.

I might need to work on my defence with Baines out

Read the hot topic on 'when to wildcard'. You're team is a classic example. You can take hits 'trying' to sort out your team from now until gw36, in the process losing valuable points on missed opportunities for the sake of the 36/37 WC/BB. How much do plan to gain from this chip usage? Youre better off WC'ing now and set yourself up reasonably well for the doubles

Actually that article made me wonder about WCing. Hadn't considered it before. Phillips' continuing injury, Rondon's lack of form and Baines' injury were the last push I needed to hit the button.
