Saturday’s events conclude at St Mary’s with a south coast derby between Southampton and Bournemouth.

Weeks ago, this was billed as Manolo Gabbiadini’s opportunity to shine having fired three goals in his opening two outings. But injury at Spurs last time out has kept him sidelined and means that our interest in the Saints is limited to a scouting mission ahead of their looming double Gameweeks. The defence and attacking pair Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond will come under scrutiny.

But Bournemouth arguably boast the key asset on show. FPL midfielder Josh King has fired eight goals in eight outings to present exceptional value for his 5.8 price tag. More than 123,000 swooped for King ahead of this evening’s outing with 10,000 trusting him with the Gameweek armband.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      I'd say Vardy, a good punt, but really doesn't look worth the money for me. CL might still preoccupy them again.

        Oh yeah, Costa's there too. I think you've got enough coverage in Hazard to ditch Costa, rarely explodes and picks up yellows for fun, you can get a similar thing in Carroll for almost half the price.

            Neville is garbage but I have SLIGHTLY more time for him than Savage. Savage hasn't played in the CL, hasn't played for a top team and I don't think he has even been capped. How can he comment on anything? Plus he is orange.

              Terry's comments about Savage's credibility as a pundit were spot on.

                Yeah. 100% agree. Terry, like him as a person or not, was a monster of defender in his day and has won everything at club level and played consistently at international level. Savage isn't even good enough to polish his training boots.

      I think the term gets thrown around too much anyway. The only two straight up world class outfield players in the Premier League, in my opinion, are Aguero and Kante. You can make strong cases for others players too but they'd be debatable.

          Never! Didn't make it at Barcelona. He is exceptional and one of the debatables I mentioned but he is not world class (IMO). That said, I suppose it depends on your definition of the term.

          1. Digital-Real
            • 9 Years
            9 years, 2 months ago

            my definition of World Class is simple and measured on; you have to prove yourself at the big stage against the very best opposition in the world, and there is no higher level than the World Cup and Sanchez had a very good tournament in the 2014 world cup.

            1. The Big Fella
              • 9 Years

              Respectfully disagree (whilst simultaneously admitting that this is completely subjective and so neither of us can actually be "wrong").

              When England actually had a good team they had a whole host of players that could play in any/most teams. Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole etc. and yet England always did crap.

              My definition would be if you had a World Cup size squad, who would be in that squad if you could pick anybody? I am not sure I would take Sanchez if you use my, admittedly subjective and very limited, definition.

              He has also won two Copa de Americas, which against teams like Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil is nothing to sniff at.

      Can't call him world class when he's been injured half of his career. He did turn the play around in Bournemouth's favour, although this might have something to do with Tadić coming off.

      36* - 4 with Sanchez, Llorente and Siggy left.

      *41 if I was actually looking properly what with Vardy/Lukaku wrong captain debacle.

    Need to act tonight with Mane drop...

    Mane + Aguero > Sanchez + Vardy (-4)
    Mane, Aguero + Baines > Sanchez, Ibra and B. Davies (-8)

    First to 3 and I'll pull trigger

    Tentative plans are:

    GW31: Mane > Sanchez || Defoe > Origi (-4)
    GW32: (Kun > Kane)
    GW33: (Kun > Kane) || Llorente > Anichebe || Snoddy > Hazard/Mane/Cout/Alli (-4)

    Giving me this team for GW33:

    Jak Grant
    Rose Valencia Brunt Maguire Mawson
    Sanchez Hazard Firmino Eriksen Siggy
    Kane Origi Anichebe

    And 1FT for GW34. Now we wait for news...

    0.3 short of Mane > Sanchez, which leaves me in a tricky position.

    Really want Sanchez for a captaincy option next week and would love Ibra for the DGWs coming up.

    Team :

    Heaton, Foster,
    Valencia, Yoshida, Maguire, Brunt, Pieters,
    King, Mane, Coutinho, Siggy, Snoddy,
    Costa, Lukaku, Aguero.

    1.8 ITB

    My thoughts on what I should do, pick one:

    A. Save FT
    B. Mane -> Eriksen/Alli/Tadic
    C. (-4) Mane + Aguero -> Sanchez + Ibra
    D. (-8) Mane + Costa + Snoddy -> Sanchez + Ibra + 4.6 mid
    E. (-4) Mane + Brunt -> Sanchez + 4.8 def
    F. (-4) Mane + Costa -> Sanchez + Vardy/Tekkers

    Mané > Sanchez or take a punt on Özil/Walcott?

        Nice fixtures and 2 DGWs. Arsenal usually pick themselves up soon after bottling everything.
