Can you call it a comeback? Avid listeners – and there are some, honest – will certainly hope that Granville’s return to ScoutCast action will be repeated.

For now, we just have to savour him gatecrashing our early season party, armed with a very reasonable Gameweek 1 tally.

Granville joins myself, Jonty, Andy and Az in a five-aside episode for the post-mortem of the opening weekend.

Once again we embrace your community questions, going in studs showing on all the key issues, as we assess the Zaha replacements and strap our knees to the desk to discuss De Bruyne and Kane.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

TAA vs Danilo is a tough one but I think you got it right.

Basically any option that's nailed on and has even a small amount of potential regarding attacking points, bonus or clean sheets.

I keep reading the words "he plays in the double pivot".

What the hell is a double pivot, is this a new football buzz word or have I just missed it for the last 20 years?

    1. IRBOX ⚽

2 holding mid-fielders in front of central defence

    2. The Wise Owl
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 29 days ago

A double pivot means two midfielders change positions, for example one will attack, the other will defend, and then they change round.

Disagree mate, a midfielder who pivots forward or backward ala - box to box mid.

So Matic is holding, Pogba goes box to box. They don't alternate.

You'll need to transfer out Willian at any given time when Hazard comes back. Just get someone cheaper who is nailed.

Or perhaps just hope that Haz will be bench warming for at least two more gws? ^^

      Pros:
      - Willian is a good attacking player

      Cons:
      - Playing Spurs away in a depleted side at the moment.
      - Will be rotated once Pedro and Hazard are back which is likely very soon

Spurs with inexperienced right back, and Chelsea will surely recover quickly from the abysmal game last gw.

Rotation fears are valid, though. So I am crossing my fingers that both Pedro and Haz break their legs during warm-ups this gameweek ^^

      I'd rather Arnie or Antonio.

Yes WH were poor but I expect a response. Might be a little early for Antonio but he and Arnie are both proven fpl players, have the fixtures and should feature predominantly for WH.

Willian is a rotation risk and faces a top defence.

If you expect a response from WHU, wouldn't you do the same for the title holders?

We still don't know who are regulars in the WHU midfield, with rotation fears hanging there as well.

That said, I ain't keeping Willy An for the rest of the season, that's for sure ^^

Right, put Atsu in for Zaha earlier in the week; now have 2m ITB and 0 FT. Midfield is obviously an issue. Given Willian could be dropped next week (or at least have impacted game time when Hazard and Pedro come back in), should I make a further change for a hit e.g. Willian to Pogba or Mkhi or just ride out the GW?

Is it worth having Alonso, Kolasinac and Walker as your defenders?

      No - definitely not.

Cheapen your D to buy in more big hitters up front.

If you can still cover the big mids and attackers- yes.

Would much rather any of them over Atsu etc

Sure if they outscore 6-7 attackers you would use instead, I have Alonso Valencia Kompany Bertrand and confident about it

swap out kompany for a wingback? more likely to get goals if you are spending big money on defenders

Kompany is the only definite starter, Kyle walker is too expensive

81, so decent start. Time to talk about ZAHA.

    DDG
    Stephens Davies Ake
    Willian KDB ZAHA Atsu
    Firminho Lukaku Kane

    A. Zaha > Mooy / Ritchie / Other for free (nothing really inspiring me)

    B. Zaha/Willian > Miki/ 6.4m

    C. Zaha/KDB > Salah/Miki

I want to do C, but think culling KDB already is crazy. A would give me some flex to do Willian > Miki next week

    CONFUSED!!!

Thanks guys, sound advice. I don't get the JWP love sadly, might take a punt on a Hudd midfielder (Ince or Mooy) then get Miki/Pogba next week

I love the way nobody is considering Gini Winjnaldum two homes games against Palace and Arsenal he's bound to get on the scoresheet as he's a home goal scoring player.
