Our latest round of fixes and improvements have gone live this morning.

The addition of Fantasy Premier League prices is the headline act – something that I know a good number of members have been requesting for some time.

Prices are updated daily and can be found as a sortable column in our player tables.

We’ve also added them as a global filter, allowing you to limit the players shown in a table by a maximum FPL price.

This filter is also available in custom tables, so now you can decide to build tables with a fixed maximum price in mind.

Elsewhere, we’ve added some new statistics in several areas.

Goalkeepers now have the Shots Faced and Shots on Target Faced statistics in their Goalkeeping table. We’ve also used these to calculate a Save Percentage stat. These are all useful numbers for assessing the worth of goalkeeper options.

Total shots conceded, along with total shots on target conceded, have also been added to the Team Stats Defending table. These are key indicators of team defensive form and are also added to team profiles and the team comparison tool.

We’ve also addressed some fixes in our BPS calculation. We’ve discovered that FPL does not register a save for a goalkeeper unless the shot was considered on target, so we’ve now addressed that. In addition, own goals were not factored into our Winning Goal statistic. That has been corrected.

We plan some further BPS work in the next update. We’re still not convinced on our Net Tackles calculation and will be sanity checking that against Gameweek 5 data – expect that to be tweaked in the next update.

Finally, we spotted a bug in our heatmaps display of chances created conceded. The positions were inverted when data was filtered for home or away matches only – we’ve now fixed this.

Oh, and before we go, we’ve also added a fix that should correct the auto scrolling issue that some users were suffering in Chrome. We recommend that you update to the new version if you’re still seeing this issue.

What’s coming next?

The big news is that we’re expecting to integrate both expected goals and expected assists on our test servers later this month.

We’re not sure if that’s going to make update six, but we would certainly be optimistic on update seven.

However, the main emphasis now and for the next two to three months will be HomeCrowd.

Mat will be getting up to speed with this code and our first step will be to optimise what we have, in preparation for some new features and tweaks.

I hope to bring you an update on that work, and expected goals, by the end of the month.

You can see our current task list and track our progress through the next update via this roadmap.

You can also send your feedback and requests to me at mark@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

Our previous updates are detailed here, here, here and here.

A reminder that, if you want access to this update and other future additions to the members’ area, you can sign up now for £12.50. This is due to increase to £15 very, very soon, so get in quick if you’re wavering.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

He's the 4.4 enabler to allow Jones' 5.1 price to cover ManUtd defence.
I had DeGea so far and wouldn't feel comfortable not having a chance to get their clean sheet points.

    DDG - Elliot
    Ake - Kolasinac - Yoshida - Hegazi - Hunemeier
    KDB - Pogs - Salah - Mooy - Carroll
    Kane - Lukaku(C) - Quaner (0 FT and 0.4 ITB)

Unsure of defense. What to do?

Alli gets more points than Kane over the 16-17 season.
17-18 season starts, Alli continues to outscore Kane.
People on here "you can't captain Alli though, you need Kane for captaincy"
    Why ?

Someone else already mentioned Alli played more than Kane.
Kane's points per game are better.
Feel free to captain Alli, he'll likely get returns but Kane is likely to get more.

Kane got like 4 hattricks last season. Alli none and he played a lot less. I can see where it's coming from.

    6. MTPockets

Kane had injuries, otherwise £ and emotional investment.

    7. Ludo

Alli outscored Kane by one point, but he played 7 more matches last season due to Kane being injured.

Kane scored 7.5 points per game, whereas Alli scored 6.1 points per game.

If captained Kane every week, he'd have scored 15 points per game for your team when he played, whereas Alli would have scored you 12.2 points per game. That's almost 3 points difference every gameweek, and that's why he's the number one captaincy option.

      1. Podge
        • 15 Years
        8 years, 10 months ago

        No its 1.4. Kane's 15 plus Alli's 6.1 is 21.1. Captaining Alli would be 12.2 plus Kane's 7.5 is 19.7.

Possible that some changes were made but I think the lack of standout players is probably a factor too. I think most transfers have been targeting a small pool of players, and they have all risen.

More and more people WC early.

It's partly because the GW prizes are actually good, so more people will spend everything at the beginning of the season and then make a new account. That should've contributed to a slightly higher amount of accounts at the start of the season, and also more WCs.

More importantly nobody is recommending you to save the WC any longer. After the chip changes two seasons ago, people were uncertain about whether the first WC was needed early or late. Last season a lot of people got punished hard for saving their WC. Now people are recommending you to use your WC as soon as your team looks bad.

      1. Pumpkinhead
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 10 months ago

Interesting point regarding the WC. This is the first year I'm using it early because I waited and took hits and at the end of it all my team was in good shape by the time I was ready and I don't believe I used my WC to full value. . The chip changes certainly play a role.

haha, I'm going to have 6.5m itb after I do my transfers (Aguero & TCarroll to Abraham & Brady)

will be fun next week getting rid of Ince & Ritchie for Eriksen & someone under 8.8m!!!

Hi guys. Anyone here playing UCL fantasy? I'm wondering where is Mertens. I've looked under Napoli as well as all midfeilders and strikers. I've even searched his name and nothing comes up. Anyone experiencing this?

They removed Firmino and Mertens because they had been wrongly classified as midfielders and not strikers 🙄 They will be added soon back.

B but you might have to regularly captain midfielders.

P.S. it might just be me, but it's easier just listing the players that are different rather than the whole teams.

Ah, I failed to spot Alonso wasn't in B. I now prefer A.

P.P.S. Kinda confirms my comment above about listing the players that are different.
