Pep sunk his teeth into our Gameweeks, while an old moggy took a chunk out of my partner’s arm, depriving me of my appearance on this week’s ScoutCast. I’m not sure which was more painful.

At the mercy of the local A&E, Jonty, Andy and Az became my other emergency service as they stepped up on this latest episode.

Inevitably, Guardiola’s Man City teamsheet dominates your questions and the ensuing chatter. Elsewhere the boys re-appraise Kane after his Wembley haul, revisit Liverpool with their fixtures about to swing and consider whether the heavy-hitting midfielders are poised for a renaissance ahead of Gameweek 10.

As far as I know, I’ve edited out all the “pussy” jokes.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Beat the KneeJerkers XI, results for GW9 and squad for GW10

GW9 was brutal, maybe the worst yet for popular transfer targets. Sterling (c) and Jesus (vc) burnt many, and the rest of the Kneejerkers XI team did not fare much better, with only Trippier (6), Richarlison (5) and Babayoko!!! (5) emerging with any sort of credit. Altogether, the eleven most-transferred-in players of the gameweek managed a measly 28 points (GW rank 5m+) and so finished dead last behind all remaining 31 competition entries.

    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/4112369/event/9
    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/leagues/standings/907919/classic

For GW 10, transfer activity focused on three big strikers, a couple of Watford mids and, again, a full set of Man City musical chairs. Greed is still more powerful than fear, it seems. To fund such a heavy-hitting lineup, the Kneejerkers’ bench also features a bunch of dubious cheapos who will hopefully never be called upon. May the Pep be with you.

    Elliot (28)
    Otamendi (161), Ward (91), Monreal (88)
    Sané (VC, 209), Richarlison (185), Doucouré (127), Salah (82)
    Aguero (C, 304), Kane (120), Morata (108)
Bench: De Gea (25); Mbemba* (21), Mariappa* (19), Colback* (17)

Just stupid long term move to let go Of lukaku..especially with pogba nearing return and chelsea defense in shambles

Wow. 3 errors in 2 lines. That's going some. 😉

            1. Why does it have to be long-term? When you transfer a player out you are also allowed to bring them back later. 😕
            2. Pogba isn't expected back till December.
            3. Chelsea's defense isn't in shambles. It is the centre midfield where there has been a huge problem this season and that has put the defense under pressure. Now, for the first time this season, they actually have 3 CMs fit and Kanté is also back in training. You will see things start to improve in terms of goals conceded as a result.

What's your take on Hazard? Is he worth keeping? I got him on WC for his fixtures but have no other way of gettting Salah in this GW but to sell Hazard.

I'd keep him this week if possible. But I'd also get Coutinho or Salah if possible. Depends if you can do both.

If it's either/or then I think Liverpool have the better immediate fixtures.

Thanks Ruth_NZ. I swapped Hazard for Salah and have given him the armband. Would like to keep Hazard but you can't have everyone. Maybe I will get him in in four GWs time.

        rather cryptically fpl stastics says:

A further set of rule changes has been confirmed. This is currently impacting Lukaku and Mkhitaryan. The changes should become clearer by the weekend.

My theory on Lukaku and Mki not dropping is that they were wild carded IN in mass, not counting towards rises, and that’s taken into account on their drops too. In effect giving them a huge drop threshold

      1. I Member
        • 10 Years

Why would transfers not counted towards a rise increase the drop threshold? Wouldn't it do the opposite?

We need FPL to open up their price changes just like the stock market. Make it transparent and fun to play the system. This random making up rules and changing the system is getting tiresome.

No problem for me, can still afford a good team. Infact my current is only 99m with 2m in bank...

Crying over price fluctuation is stupid when its same for everyone and doesnt have any impact on overall score

All games need a consistent rule environment to make sense. I don't care how aggressive/gentle the market is I just want a semblance of stability.

If TV was linked with our rank, then I would have agreed... But concentrating on TV is waste of time, stability or not, if its affecting the way you play, then you have to change your style

In terms of surprise points - I think a Palace player may step up - Zaha, Dann, Cabaye.

Karius is 0.2% owned. Expect him to get a clean sheet.

Moreno in defence, 2.7% owned, Liverpool didn't play in midweek, so should be fresh. Expect them to keep a clean sheet finally, and Moreno to chip in with an assist and some bonus. Terence also might be a good option.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek in Midfield, 5.5% ownership, to be greedy against a played-out West Ham from midweek. Now he's at risk of becoming permanently benched by Woy I think he'll go flat out to keep his starting place.

Okazaki at Everton, 5.3% ownership, will find space and benefit from Vardy and Mahrez getting the most attention from Everton's defence

          RLC, Iwobi, Sanchez (c), Hazard

I think Sanchez is the best differential even though I do not own. Hopefully La(c)azette chips in with some points! Good luck to all.

I'd say Pedro, same as last week. He's looking very sharp right now and will start.

I can't bring myself to think of Alexis as a differential, although based on ownership he clearly is. Ramsey should do well too.

Fantasy Eliteserien has to be just about the saddest thing you can do if you do not have direct links to the country

EPL is a global brand. Whatever league that is, is not. That is why your argument is weak.

Generally? Look at the player numbers you buffoon! This is something social, all sorts of people play worldwide. It's something to talk about at the workplace or at school. Whereas I would be embarrassed to admit I played Elitiseren or whatever it's called

Think its best if you calm this down.

This game gives alot of people on site alot of enjoyment. Its certainly given me lots more knowledge of a league I knew nothing about and the articles submitted about it have been incredibly well written and detailed.

Please be considerate to other posters.

Actually, Eliteserien is higher subscribed than FPL by population (your logic).

Maybe if it was just a random game but it is the only game to have the exact same platform as FPL. I’m not surprised FES is way more popular than La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A fantasies combined on here.

Re: Free Hit Chip from FPL as a lot of questions being asked about it.

    Hi TFF,

None of the players you sign during your Free Hit Gameweek (before or after you activate the Free Hit chip) will remain in your team when the deadline passes, and your team will revert to the previous line-up.

You should find that the TC column for the Gameweek in question on your 'View Gameweek history' page displays a 0, indicating that you weren't deducted any points when playing your Free Hit.

Please also note that when playing the Free Hit chip, any saved free transfers will be lost, and you will be back down to one free transfer for the next GW.

    Regards,
    Fantasy Premier League Support

You can play it any week you want, but potentially blank week GW31 will for most players be the best and least risky time to do so.

Makes me wonder if those who are using it end up making transfers in subsequent weeks to bring in the same players again. E.g., bringing in Richarlison or Coutinho this week on a Free Hit and then they explode, wouldn't you want them again next week? Like all drugs, the first hit never really is free, as it turns out.

What if you have already made 2FT's? Does your team revert to the team you had BEFORE those transfers next week if you now play the free hit Chip?

I don’t get your question but your going to have the same team you had in gw 9 for gw 11. So any changes you make while on FHC, are for that (in your case gw 10) only.

    A) Duffy vs. K. Femenia
    B) Hunemeier vs. Rangel

    How to get Daniels in?

    2) Sterling > Pedro (tempmove)
    3) Duffy/K Femenia > Dunk

B - is bench fodder anyway. Rangel might get a couple of games, but due to high ownership could fall in price when he stops playing again.

2 - Sterling is currently the better player, in the better team. I am on WC so have the luxury of a temp move. I don't mind the rotation of Sterling too much, but I have slight doubts as -both- him and Aguero played 120 on Tuesday.

Daily mail saying Kane has an issue with his hammy

Mauricio Pochettino will make a late call on Harry Kane’s fitness ahead of Saturday's showdown against Manchester United as the striker recovers from a hamstring problem.

I’ve had a great start to the season sitting pretty in the top 150k. However, I’m starting to get a little bit worried about Team value. I only have a TV of 101.4 with a SV of 100.7.

I feel if I don’t start building that soon, I could get really hurt during the second part of the season.

Are any of you guys worried about yours or is it not reall that important?

It really depends on the bargains to be had in the particular season.

When it comes to the 2nd wildcard it will help a lot to have extra cash, but it easy to become obsessed with it and cloud your judgement.

Having my best ever start - top 8k - having consciously ignored prices. Might be coincidence, might not be.

I spent a lot of last season making early transfers - not many hits admittedly, but often you have much more information at hand on Friday compared to the Monday.

Additionally, if you are doing well your squad naturally picks up value.

I guess we'll see come March / April.

Yeah I’m finding this especially this year. Did Lukaku to Aguero early to catch the price rise this week and I may get burned by that.

However I wanted Aguero in long term as I think he’s the best city option.

Value seemed to increase nicely initially but has stagnated over the last few weeks.
I'm not unduly worried but being my first season this could be based on ignorance ! What type of value do you think we should be looking to build ?

      1. FantasyFootballSprout
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 1 month ago

I would say about 104.0 by the time you play your second wildcard. However, price changes have been a lot slower this year so maybe 103.5 is the target. I finished top 50k last year and only picked up TV towards the end of last season
