The penultimate fixture of the packed festive schedule gets underway at 7.45pm as Arsenal and Chelsea go head-to-head at the Emirates.

For the hosts, Alexis Sanchez has upped his output in recent weeks – after a slow start to the season, last term’s top scoring player in Fantasy Premier League has delivered points in seven of his last 10 league appearances.

That form suggest that the Chilean is likely to pose the main danger to a defence that’s conceded just four times in their previous 11.

Nonetheless, it’s Alexandre Lacazette who is the Gunners’ most captained player for Gameweek 22, handed the armband by 2.02%.

The Frenchman has been a consistent source of points at home, producing a goal or assist in seven of his 10 appearances, but he’s struggled for a cutting edge of late and failed to find the net since Gameweek 15.

A return to form could reignite interest in Lacazette ahead of four kind fixtures (bou CRY swa EVE) in as many Gameweeks.

Despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks, Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata (3.7%) is the top armband pick for this fixture.

That lack of form means that the Spaniard and team-mate Eden Hazard were among the top five most transferred out players for Gameweek 22, sent packing by 243,000+ and 207,000+ respectively.

Hazard has mustered just a single assist in five yet both he and Morata also have some decent fixtures ahead to arrest their recent declines – over the next five Gameweeks, Antonio Conte’s side host Leicester, Bournemouth and West Brom and also make their way to Brighton and Watford.

Encouragingly for Hazard’s owners, he looks set to return to a central role with the visitors rolling out a 3-5-1-1 formation.

The Gunners, meanwhile, welcome back Mesut Ozil from a minor knee problem, though injuries in defence means that Arsene Wenger is forced to field the likes of Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in his starting line-up.

Thanks all - Im reluctant to get Otta back in after I sold him 5 weeks back, not the best decision but it did mean holding Alonso.

Not sold on Stones... hot and cold... Ota is essential, I sold after his 5 yellows ban and then was stubborn until bright minds in the CW Tourney team convinced me... Alonso and Ota are essential imo

Brother forgot to change his team.

      Salah (c) Hazard (vc)

Benched Kane & Son (from blank gwk). Was going to sell Alonso & Hazard with his 2Fts.

Im all for this game game having a lot to do with skill but there is also an enormous chunk of luck involved

Hehe. My brother missed the deadline because of the NYE. 2 FT and funds for Kane. His only DGW player is Creswell. 63 pts with Hazard (c) 🙄

Pretty funny especially given how big hype there was for this DGW. I almost missed the deadline as well. Did my transfer 5:30 am drunk AF. Should've brought in Alli instead of Eriksen, now I'm priced out of Kabasele -> Jones.

I’m not sure what is going on with Morata’s finishing but Haz looks like he’s having fun and about to go on that run of point returns we all know he needs to claim his rightful place among the game’s top midfielders this season. He’s such a little troll, but I’m keeping.

Yes, 3 shots out of 4 on target by Morata would mean 3 shots on target shooting at Tupac and he would probably be dead ... the joke is when a player misses the target, surely 😉 ?

Here I thought strikers target is always to put it actually into the net. Go figure. Why are these lads actually crying about Moro then? Sounds like a ballon d or material with him hitting what he wanted 3 times out of 4. 😮

Your joke was clever but wrong syntax 😉

If a striker is hitting the target goals will come, as an owner I am disappointed but would rather him miss than not have any attempts on goal at all - credit to the keeper too for making some good saves.

I seem to recall a certain Spurs striker doing the same in August .... and he came good

He was talented and creative but not sure you could say intelligent or a leader. He followed suge knight like a puppy dog and despite being rich and successful he decided playing plastic gangster was the most important thing to do with his life. He got killed over nothing like so many black men in LA except unlike them he chose it.

Seen many documentaries and read books about his younger life . It's true he got duped and went the wrong way in life but everyone who knew him spoke of his potential of a life in politics . Guess we will not know but when he spoke people listened. He had people turning against the government. That's no easy feat

He'll be sat on bench for me for a while. Have a strong squad of 15 so priotising other moves. Namely salah, aguero and Lingard.
Wilson certainly looks a decent pick for the price. Andy Carroll too perhaps. January transfers could throw something up too.

I cannot afford Jones (Have Alonso and Ota) and Kun (Have Firmino and Kane). I have RLC and Quaner as cheap rotaters. Salah and Sterling are "must haves" I think.

So, with that in mind, Mahrez and Lingard can be the next players to get in my team maybe.

Would you do Coutinho ----> Mahrez or Arnie ----> Lingard or would you keep both for now??

Morata owners - I know it's hard to contain the rage, but FA Cup and 10 days is a lot of risk to take. Before the game what did you really expect? 6 at best if you're being honest. So you're 4 points down. Why make it another 4 and potentially more with injuries

Jones, Koscielny and Kompany are the trio of constantly injured CBs.

There is a chance Jones could be rested vs Stoke. Smalling is back. But long term that back 3 looks ideal.

That's my defence right now. Only injuries or suspensions will make me change it.

Coming to that time of year again in my (very) small three man mini league...

Easy enough to see transfers to either match or try to better my rivals...This week Pogba and Jones are scaring me a bit against Stoke....I can't quite decide whether to bring them in for Sterling and Richarlison, as neither of the other two have Sterling anyway, or put Sterling up against Pogba who they both have...

            Decisions Decisions...

You know Lingard has 70pts last 9 which is more than Kane KDB Hazard etc right?

Yeah, that's why I said to bring Lingard in.

I already have him. Man Utd vs Stoke could be a cricket score if Pogba plays advanced again

Juventus are determined to keep winger Alex Sandro, 26, after interest from both Manchester United and Chelsea. (Independent)
