The recent departure of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool has deprived both Jurgen Klopp and Fantasy managers of a top class midfield talent.

Prior to his transfer to Barcelona, the Brazilian had been in sparkling form, supplying seven goals and six assists in just 1,100 minutes of top-flight action. Yet with the Merseysiders now facing the prospect of enduring the latter half of 2017/18 without the playmaker, how are our evaluations of their other key attacking assets impacted?

This week’s Technical Area will examine how Liverpool’s key options have fared with and without the Brazilian, in an attempt to inform our expectations of their performances and value moving forward.

    I know the article predicts a downturn for Firmino but their fixtures after City are so enticing.

    I’d rather own Salah and Firmino over Salah and Mané.

    I can’t fail to see how Firmino misses out on good points over the next 4-5 GWs.

    Also, Lallana could play the Coutinho role as mentioned above. I recall Firmino doing very well last season when Lallana was in the team.

    Not to mention that he is a baps whore.

    I am keeping for sure.

      Fair enough. The issue with judging Firmino now is that his recent form is not typical of past campaigns. So regression - if it comes - may not be a knock on from Coutinho, it could be just Firmino settling back after a big burst of points.

      Six goals in his last six starts - I don't think he's suddenly become a goal-a-game striker with or without Couintho.

        Yeah, fair point.

        I will keep for next three and re-assess.

        At present, I don’t see anybody in his price range that appeals. Maybe Tosun could be an option soon.

        If not, I’ll upgrade to Aguero.

        Other fires to put out.

        After Man City, Firmino has Swansea (who he always does well against) and Huddersfield.

        I just don’t think it’s worth a transfer at this stage.

      Firminos just a streaky player in general, regardless of the personnel around him. He is good for 180-200 this season Id say but he WILL go on another barren run this season at some stage.

      I agree with you, and will give him at least until the swans and hudds games. Doesn’t have a blank gw28 as well..and allows funds for upgrade in defence and mid..in my case..something like hazard or kdb and van dijk or jones over eriksen and duffy..with man C’s packed schedule, i’m stil not convinced hes free from rotation in the league..moreover i can still look to captain kane in 24, and salah in 25, the same gw which aguero potentially harvests..kun cappers could also be missing out on salah and kane hauls..nevertheless an aguero haul in gw24 would still force me into a firmino to aguero transfer !

              I don’t know How good it is for your points until then, but it will make GW 28 very easy go manage for you and thus be able to save FH for GW 31 or 35.

                Yeah, I want to get rid of Pogba & Eriksen next week. My targets are two from Salah, Mane, Mahrez, KDB, Sterling, Hazard. If I decide to go with Salah + Mahrez for example it will be so easy to manage 28 and not as much of a rotation risk also. Would be brave going without any City attack though!

                Defence is worryingly weak. None of those should be playing for you every week and wouldn't get shaw as he'll be dropped in a few gws. I assume Ur bench is weak too, switch KDB for sterling and Murray for Quaner, upgrade a couple of defenders and go 442 imo.
