The recent departure of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool has deprived both Jurgen Klopp and Fantasy managers of a top class midfield talent.

Prior to his transfer to Barcelona, the Brazilian had been in sparkling form, supplying seven goals and six assists in just 1,100 minutes of top-flight action. Yet with the Merseysiders now facing the prospect of enduring the latter half of 2017/18 without the playmaker, how are our evaluations of their other key attacking assets impacted?

This week’s Technical Area will examine how Liverpool’s key options have fared with and without the Brazilian, in an attempt to inform our expectations of their performances and value moving forward.

        Essentially it’s just base 2 and it’s how computers calculate. Things are either on or off... until we get to quantum computing and then things get weird 😉

      If you can scrape to 4.6 I would get Milivojevic for Palace, on pens. Adrian and Pope is a good combo yes.

        Milivojevic and Adrian/Elliot for me. (To free up cash to spend on your defence). If you want to invest more in your keepers I'd go Pickford/Adrian.

      I'd say that's fine. Based on value/points per game, they're both great value in that price range. (Providing you're also covered with two other high scoring Mids, e.g. Salah and Sterling).

    Would you get rid of Sane and Firmino for Kun and maybe Shaqiri??

    That would leave me with no Pool attack unless i do Hazard > Salah (-4)

    So what to do?
    A Stick with Firmino and Sane?

    I still can't decide if I should do Arnautovic>Lingard or not. Will use the extra funds to get Alonso in for Azpi next week (provided nothing goes wrong). Thoughts anyone?

      1. Arnautović's price is going up, and he has great fixtures coming up
      2. In my opinion, its not worth spenting transfers and funds to get Alonso over Azpilicueta (Azp will start bringing points once Morata starts firing again)

    Salah has lost 489,201 owners according to the Net Transfers column on his info page. I assumed many of those were free hitters for the DGW so I emailed FPL to ask them. The answer:

    "No. Free hit transfers are not included in the Net Transfers list."

    So Salah's lost 15% of his actual ownership without dropping once. No algorithm can account for that. I get that FPL have no obligation to tell us how prices are done but I'm getting fed up of playing a strategy game where a key rule is deliberately obscured.

    And yes, I'm just venting.

      Well that certainly changes things then. I assume WC transfers aren't included either on the Net Transfers info...slightly less useful than it was then.

      I keep saying it. I see no other reason than FPL deliberately throw in a curve ball algorithm sometimes under certain circumstances......or at other times just plain manually decide...

      It's impossible that those working on the pirate sites could be so far out with somebody like Salah whilst being so close to others...

      It has to be that way.
