Gameweek 23 draws to a close at Old Trafford as Manchester United entertain struggling Stoke City.

Up against a defence that’s conceded more goals on the road than any side, the hosts boast three of the top 11 captains in Fantasy Premier League.

Romelu Lukaku (12.1%) remains the favoured attacker among Jose Mourinho’s contingent despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks.

Yet as evidenced by his goal and assist off the bench against Derby in the FA Cup, an enforced rest due to a head injury seems to have boosted the Belgian’s prospects.

Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba are also highly fancied, with the former drafted in by a massive 567,000+ FPL managers in time to face the Potters.

Certainly, Lingard is the form player on show tonight, with seven goals and a pair of assists in the last nine Gameweeks. He has, however, recorded points in just one of his last four Premier League matches at home.

Meanwhile, Pogba’s 12-point haul away to Everton last time out – his first double-digit return since Gameweek 12 – hints at a return to form. However, tonight’s teamsheet indicates that the Frenchman will be deployed in a deep-lying role alongside Nemanja Matic, with Ander Herrera dropping to the bench.

Having conceded just five goals at Old Trafford, a ninth home clean sheet looks to be on the cards for David De Gea’s 42% owners tonight.

Up against an attack that have scored just three times in their last five road trips, interest in Phil Jones is on the rise – he was the top transfer target in defence for Gameweek 23, earning over 191,000 new owners.

Mourinho also welcomes back the fit-again Antonio Valencia, who makes his first appearance since Gameweek 18 after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Despite missing the last four matches, he remains the fourth top-scoring defender in FPL thanks to two goals and 11 clean sheets in 18 outings.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Fab
    Otamendi, Jones, Chistensen
    Son, KDB, Eriksen, Sterling, Lingard
    Kane, Firmino
    Sub: Elliot, Ogbonna, DCL, Mariappa

Need Salah back so I have a couple of options but which to do:

    a) Eriksen and Son to Arni and Salah (Spurs fixture about to turn and West Ham have some great fixtures)
    b) Eriksen and DCL to Salah and McBurnie (not nailed though)
    c) Eriksen and KDB to Salah and Mahrez

If Pogba can consistently play like he has in his last two matches, and do it against top opposition, he becomes world class.

Until then he's just a very good player with exceptional potential.

He has all the tools to dominate any match he plays in so needs to start doing it. Doing it just in the easier matches isn't enough.

    1. Zladan

Is it risky to go without Firmino/Kun? Firmino will drop much deeper against teams sitting back especially with Coutinho gone and Kun only has 2 more games before Jesus is back. Also allows very strong mid and def which is where all points scorers are. Or am i being stupid?

You would never pick Joselu over either of them. He is surely just a bench fodder anyway. Wouldn’t lose sleep.

Actually would have, been playing him for 2 gw, only this gw played Zeegelaar instead. For a fodder would have definitely gone with a cheaper option. Purchased him to play.. But my bad, should have put Zeeg as first sub. Another lesson.

    A) Eriksen + DCL -> Pogba + Firmino (-4)

    B) Do it next week for free and play Eriksen + Ogbonna (BOU)

I’ve decided to keep Firmino over Aguero. Unfortunately I’m 0.2 short of KDB, it’s not madness to consider Sane is it? Currently have Sterling + Oti

Lingard only needed 45 mins to score 2 against Burnley. How many will he score in 90?

Who would you rather keep for 1 last GW?

    a) Lacazette: CPA (h)
    b) Hazard: BHA (a)

Both will be gone after next GW but don't feel either is worth getting rid for a -4

Lacagoals. But I don't feel good about it - only because he's at home.

Yeah can't wait to get Firmino for him, just feel he could well get a lucky penalty or something, thanks!

    Alli to ??

    A. Mahrez

    Rest of midfield is:
    Sterling - Salah - Son - Lingard

Lingard owners shouldn't have been so exited about him starting. He has 0 goals from home starts - 5 from away games, 2 as a home sub.
With 3 of next 4 away, reckon he's worth keeping.

Problem is Burnley away is like the busses he faces at home. Will probably do better vs Spurs than Burnley.

Hey all, what would you do here? I feel like I need to prioritise Salah and Alonso.

    Ryan Adrian
    Otamendi Jones TAA Dunk Lascelles
    Eriksen Sterling Son Arnautovic Lanzini
    Aguero Kane Quaner
