It’s time for out pre-Gameweek members’ article now as we run the rule over the main captaincy candidates for the upcoming round of fixtures.

First up, we check in with the form of the leading contenders in our Captain Poll, then delve into the Opta data and Rate My Team ratings before considering a differential or two for Gameweek 30.

The Captain Poll

Our Gameweek 30 Captain Poll has proved no more than a procession for Harry Kane, who leads the way with 47% of the votes cast.

Having scored more goals on the road (13) than any player this season, the Spurs striker visits a Bournemouth backline with just one clean sheet in 16 attempts. Furthermore, he has netted six times in four league outings against the Cherries.

Liverpool’s trip to Man United ensures that, for once, Mohamed Salah (7%) is among the also-rans.

The Red Devils boas the league’s most resilient home defence, conceding just six times at Old Trafford and amassing ten clean sheets.

Yet Salah arrives in his most consistent form of the season, having scored in each of the last five Gameweeks. Meanwhile, United have managed just one clean sheet over that period.

Sergio Aguero is backed by 13% as Man City make their way to Stoke on Monday night.

Rested from midweek Champions League duties, the Argentine has bagged eight goals in the last six Gameweeks, though all of those have been scored in front of his own fans.

Aguero has one double-digit haul on the road this term – Salah has five and Kane four – though has strong form at the bet365, bagging a brace in both his previous visits.

Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (3%) earns a rare top five place in our Poll. At home to a Watford defence with a single clean sheet in their last seven on the road, the winter signing has scored in two of his four appearances since arriving from Borussia Dortmund.

Eden Hazard and Riyad Mahrez are backed by 5% and 3% respectively ahead of favourable weekend fixtures.

Hazard is expected to return to a central support role at home to Crystal Palace, after a disastrous stint as a “false 9” at Man City last Sunday.

The Belgian has five goals and an assist in the last six Gameweeks, including a 16-point return against West Brom in his previous outing at Stamford Bridge.

Interest in Mahrez is on the rise after his last-minute leveler against Bournemouth salvaged Leicester a draw in Gameweek 28.

The Algerian has served up attacking returns in ten of his last 13 starts ahead of a trip to West Bromwich Albion – a side he’s already scored against in Gameweek 8.

His team-mate Jamie Vardy, meanwhile, has scored in each of his visits to The Hawthorns over the previous three seasons.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

To make a GW 32/33 Wildcard smash both DGW34 and DGW37, you're going to need the Wildcard to do some serious contortions and your going to need the Wildcard to follow the 'magic bullet theory' as it takes your team from 32/33 to 37: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Th-s3dbboJQ

The belief that you should free hit in 35 is the worst case of groupthink I have seen on here all season.

    Read more here: https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2018/03/08/the-case-for-a-gameweek-37-free-hit/

GW 30 and 32 run rather nicely together if you ignore 31, so that's why FH suits it. The caveat being the FH might not score many extra points. That probably forces a 34 TC and therefore 37 BB, but I think there will be enough good fixtures for BB/TC to work in either week.

If you wildcard 32/33 and get 2 each from Spurs, United, Chelsea and Leicester that's 8 DGW players for both 34 and 37 if FA cup results go as expected. If there are a few shocks in the FA cup your strategy becomes more valid

If Sterling was fit wouldn’t Pep have said so in the presser?

Find it strange he wasn’t involved at all against Basel and now he’s still a doubt for the Stoke game after a weeks worth of training.

Very tempted to shift for Sane/Dilva

I think your right Granville, on the bench at best for a 1 point cameo imo.

I might have to ship for a hit, feel forced into it as I also own Bavies and he’s at risk of rotation and my bench of VVD Ibe Francis isn’t strong enough to cover for them. Also 8.4m for a player that’s at risk of not playing at all is swaying me.

I just brought Pritchard in about 10 minutes ago. So I guess that means Van La Parra should be your man. 😉

Actually both are OK, depends on budget and future transfer plans and when you will wildcard and stuff like that.

Nice move, feels strange opting for such a cheap (flagged) player when some very tempting premium assets are available. That said I'm likely to wild card in 33 as opposed to 32 so the extra cash could still enable a pricier move for a 32 transfer. Good luck.

Huddersfield Examiner says he's fully fit. Wagner as much as said he'd play 4-2-3-1 in his presser. Pritchard is their only natural #10. I think it's sound.

People like Van La Parra's recent stats but they are heavily skewed by him taking a penalty and that was a one-off. But I checked what I want to do in GW32 before making the move and had I needed more cash available I'd have taken VLP rather than Pritchard. Fortunately I didn't because Pritchard was the one I really wanted.

No idea. Barça is a huge game though and Emerson has looked OK so far.

Could be great choice. No chance he is rested for Barcelona game now Emerson can cover?

Apparently the Chelsea forums are saying Emerson will stay cause Conte doesn't care about the league since he won't be at the club next season. Any word from Powell?

    Foster - Elliot
    Dijk - Otamendi - Mee - Hegazi - Ogbonna
    Sterling - Salah - Deulofeu - Carroll - Shaqiri
    Kane - Firmino - Agüero

    0.4M ITB, 2FT.

Either doing Deulofeu to La Parra, or Deulofeu+Otamendi+Carroll to La Parra, Schindler and Walcott for a hit, giving me 9 players ready for GW31 (plus a transfer between 30 and 31)

What do you guys think? Leaning towards no hit myself, but tempting to have Walcott at home to Brighton..
