Japan and Colombia have been backed by Fantasy managers to get positive results from the Group H finale, and progress to the World Cup knockout stages.

James Rodriguez (£9.0m) is the most high-profile asset in action this afternoon with 11.5 percent picking him against Senegal. Despite registering two assists in Colombia’s convincing 3-0 win over Poland, the Real Madrid midfielder has not earned an increase in ownership since Gameround 2.

However, the most popular player in the Group H finale is still Carlos Sanchez (£4.5m), who is expected to return from his one-match suspension earned after being red-carded against Japan.

Colombia’s opponents Senegal are once again not particularly fashionable with Fantasy managers. No player has higher ownership levels than midfielder Salif Sane (£4.5m) who sits in just 5.9 percent of squads. Youssouf Sabaly (£4.0m) remains owned by 4.5 percent of managers.

In the other Group H fixture, Japan’s budget options have proved the most popular, although no player in the match is owned by more than a tenth of McDonald’s FIFA World Cup Fantasy managers.

Takashi Inui (£4.5m) will be the main focus after he scored and assisted in the 2-2 draw with Senegal. His ownership has just about doubled since Gameround 2, rising to 7.1 percent.

In the same number of squads is full-back Hiroki Sakai (£4.0m). A sure starter, he is yet to get a Fantasy return in Russia but registered three assists in qualifying.

Already eliminated Poland have been almost completely deserted by Fantasy managers. Robert Lewandowski (£9.5m) remains their most popular player but has lost three percent ownership since Gameround 2.

    There's an horrible irony in Japan going through on 'fair play' given the state of the last 10 mins or so of that game

        Didn't say it was wrong just said it was ironic. It's poorer from Poland, not sure why they let Japan do what they did

            Each Polish player should want to score a World Cup goal, why not try win 2 or 3 nil against a team who are just going to defend

      Yeah it needs fixing.

      Maybe have the tie break for something positive and not negative in cards.

      Shots on targets maybe, corners...

    1st in Group G will play Japan and then Brazil or Mexico.
    2nd in Group G will play Colombia and then Sweden or Swiss.

    Would the English rather go out in the round of 16 or QFs?

      Still might get banned for fielding an illegible player tonight. Don’t presume they’re into the next round.

      this might depend on the fitness of James but obviously everyone would rather play Japan but that right side bracket is very tempting

    How many points would you get by playing MC in first 3 rounds (so far) ?

    R3=1

      Over what we eventually settled on?

      R1=0
      R2=3
      R3=6

      That last one is a bit 'fake' because I twisted to James (from Suarez) only because I have a big lead and a chip advantage in my only mini-league of note.

          Ok, I was going to suggest to take at least one 4.4 mid but you can do that on your WC.

          I like it, but I'm going Neymar over Ronnie.

      I really like mid/attack but I'm very unsure about defence. Both goalies extremely likely to concede, double sweden, dalsgaard might concede, and Pavard and Varela not nailed.

    What do you thinking about going with cheapest 2nd GK, 5th def and 4th,5th mid and focus just on starting 11? No WC left.
    If everything goes good, should leave me with 6 players after QF so with 5FTs I will be able to filed 11 in Semi Finals.

    Subasic/Kawashima
    Carvajal/Trippier/Miranda/Meunier/GValera
    Modric/Isco/Coutinho/Claesson/Inui
    Costa/Lukaku/Kane

    1.1ITB now.

    Miranda can be Fagner, also between Claesson and Quintero.

    sorry posted in an old thread. here it is again

    Muslera (day1)/Courtois (Day3/4)
    Fagner/ Carvajal/ Lovren/ Granqvist/ Trippier
    Modric/ Coutinho/ Lingard/ Quintero/ Claesson
    Kane/ Lukaku/ Costa
    0.6 ITB

    My spread is :3 BEL,3 ENG, 2 BRA, 2 SPAIN, 2 CRO, 2 SWE, 1 URU
    I am hoping for at least 2/3 (about 9/10 out of 15 of these players will go to the next round) and I can still have a playing 11 for QF with the 3 changes.

    I am gambling on Uruguay defending Portugal and hence chose Muslera and no Ronaldo, will probably regret it. Ideally want to choose someone else from day 1 (ARG vs FRANCE and POR vs URU), any suggestions?

    So is there any point in having bench fodders in your team when you can sub in players? I means there is more chance of you doing well if you have all 15 decent players right?

    1. Atimis

      Nope, you have to plan for next rounds, strong 11 is more important imo

      Unless you have bench boost then just get a strong 11. Even with BB I'm getting a strong 12. Just getting a second keeper who I think will get a shut out when i bench boost.
