£75ml Zaha is crazy money when Pool bagged shaqiri for £12.5. (Admittedly a relegation release clause)

Faaaarkkk, Palace can't turn down that money!

Well, oppo Hazard on a Chelsea front 3, he'll be a must-have at 7m. Maybe not feature GW1 but his price will shoot up, so maybe by Thursday I'll have him on my bench.

That said, Zaha has terrorised many teams on his own, big teams at that... If VVD, keita, Alissson are worth £50m+ then so is Zaha

Well I've just rejigged my squad to get Zaha in already. Um, that'll be 4 Chelsea assets to start GW1. Guess Pedro will have to be my first transfer.

Think you need 3 really nailed defenders if running this. i.e. VVD, Azpi

Because when any of your Starting XI are rested, you're forced to pitch them in and they're not nailed and if they are it could be a horrendous fixture. I'd make sure my 4th cheap defender was 4.5m and sure to start, maybe in rotation with the 5th choice.

If playing 3 at the back ie next player off the bench HAS to be a defender, then that player must be a 4.5-5m player. 4.0's are 4.0's for a reason. Take a risk on 1 to use the .5m elsewhere but 2 is too much of a punt..and an unnecessary one.

    3 x 4.0 dfs good idea?
As Wan-Bissaka and Piekter look nailed is going with them plus Schelotto/Bednarek is really that risky?

I was considering it but not sure about Peltier. He could be rotated if the 4 at the back formation doesn't workout for them.

Hi mate. Generally speaking I don’t even like having one 4m def! There do seem to be a couple of options this year though. I currently have wan bissaka. But I wouldn’t really recommend having more than one.

2 x 4.0 is definitely a good idea, provided the rest of your team is nailed on. If it all goes to crap, you have that first wildcard up your sleeve.

City GWs 2-7 (HUD, wol, NEW, FUL, car, BRI)

Sort 2x decent FWDs ASAP as they go quick and you will end up with Joselu or Defoe. Once you have two decent forwards down then move on to Mids. But depends on the size of the draft.

          1. Chandler Bing
            • 7 Years
            5 years, 9 months ago

Yeah, the size of the draft changes it a lot. I'm in a 8 man and an 11 man draft so I think I'll have to go with the 2X forwards slot first then see how it progresses.

To many hours on this team now, might go for option D:

    A:
    De Gea (Stekelenburg)
Daniels - Luiz - Tomkins (Jagielka - Bednerak)
    Sanchez - Mkhitaryan - Neves - D.Silva - Salah
    Auba - King (Sorloth)

    B:
    Fabianski (Darlow)
Robertsson - Daniels - Alonso (Cedric - Coleman)
    Neves - Mkhitaryan - Sanchez - Sane - Milivojevic
    Auba - Firminho - Sørloth

    C:
    Ederson (Hamer)
PvA - Shaw - TAA (Daniels - Luiz)
Mane - Mahrez - Ozil - Eriksen (Pereira)
    Aguero - Jimenez - Arnoutovic

    D:
    Start again?

On a side note I'm really surprised how many people on here are not FFS members. Why would you not pay £12.50 for a load more information on something you clearly are very interested in.
Also begs the question why would you be offering other more informed players your opinion. For the record I've been a member 3 years.

No apology needed! There may be a few of you on here like that.
And of course there are many veteran players who beat me year in year out on here who I'd like to have advice from.
I read a lot of the comments on here and only post occasionally and do see a lot of advice given by players who I later realise are OR 400k and clearly not very good at it and now I see they are not even members.
Hence why I rarely ask for advice.
Last 3 season average next to their handle would be great!

Personally, I've paid the last 3 years or so but only ever use the members section pre-season and for the first few weeks until I wild card. Actually last season I started really badly and then shot up the ranks into the top 10K AFTER I stopped using it! This year I reckon I know my way around FPL well enough without the info overload.

That's a fair observation and as someone who usually only uses my membership to read members articles I'm with you on not overloading on stats.
I'm just surprised so many on here don't choose the option of being able to access the additional information. And a little surprised they are not happy to support the site by helping to pay for it.
I certainly appreciate the lack of advertising.

For some of us (me included) this site is not the only one that gives out good information. I'm a stat geek myself, but I don't pay on this site. Does that make me less informed? I don't think so. But I do get your point. However, ask in here for advice, and then decide for urself which of the tips you find useful. It is easy to see in a post if the guy making it knows what he is talking about or not.

Here is my team as of now. Planning to do a double change in gw 3,get Aub in for Morata and Alexis out.

    Pickford
    Shaw- Otamendi - Robertson
    Mane-Alexis - Mahrez-Mkhitaryian
    Firmino - Morata

    Speroni-Mee - Bissaka--Sorloth
Got 0 left in bank. But feel this has a good potential in opening games. Considering WC as soon as the big boys get back and in form. What do you think?
Dont believe Salah will have as good of a season as last year, least not for that price.

2nd season in FPL for me. After going back and forth, this is my team atm. Excluding both Salah and Kane, investing heavily in midfield, enabled by budget options in defence. Any comments? I realise Shaquiri is a gamle, but what else is the weaker spot here?

    Ederson - Begovic
TAA - Keane - Daniels - Masina - Wan Bissaka
    Sanchez - Eriksen - Sané - Shaquiri - Richarlison
    Firmino - Tosun - Zaha

    Bank: 0.

Personally I like to have a premium player in each position at the start of the season, it’s easier to downgrade than to upgrade, always ends up costing -4.

If Zaha stays I would look at getting milo, penalties and open play goals, 6.5 is not bad. Also, Nobel is a good value at 5 mil, with west Hams latest acquisitions, more chances of them getting more penalties and open play goals.

    Hey Everyone. First post.
Is Richarlison and Jota in the same team too punty for GW1?

Spend the extra mil and get siggi, possibly on penalties if banes doesn’t play with the new arrival from Barca.

Thanks. You think Jota's worth a punt then or better value elsewhere around the same price?

    Which midfield?

    (A) Neves Pedro Sané Salah Schurrle
    Or
    (B) Jota Mkhitaryan Sane Mane Schurrle

Please help, option B allows me extra cash to upgrade Aubameyang to Kane
