    My first RMT
    Foster (Speroni)
    Bailly-Mendy-Mee-Tomkins (Wan-Bissaka)
    Salah-Mane-KDB-Richarlison (Stephens)
    Aubameyang-Arnautović (Kamara)
0.5 ITB to upgrade Foster to Leno after first two gw's.
Will monitor chelsea's defenders after CS to potentially change Bailly to DL.

    Hi guys,

I know it's potentially a bit of a push but do you think its viable to start with two 4.0mil defenders for the first few GWs if we think AWB is going to start?

    Crystal Palace and their defence

It seems to me that Tomkins is very popular in the 4.5 category, and Wan Bissaka tops to 4.0 charts

Is it a good idea to have both? or should we be picking one or the other, am I going to ever play both of them in one game week? I doubt it.....

    thoughts please!

    1. Gooner97

I might get Wan-B just because I have no other option at 4m

      1. Gazpilicueta

I use the same logic, but then with him in my team, I think it makes sense to transfer Tomkins for someone in a different team, in a defensive rotation or whatever

      Hey,

I'm with you. In fact, I think they have my favoured option at every price point between 4.0 and 5.5.

What I'm doing is picking wan b (the fact he'll only ever be a bench option is fine to me, he's the surest 4.0 starter and unless palace are playing top 4 I'm fine with fielding two of them) and then sorting out the other 13 players. Then whatever I have left, be it 4.5-5.5 will decide which palace defender I take on top of wan b.

The only reason I'd not pick, in your case, wan b with tomkins is if tomkins wasn't actually my favoured 4.5 option. They're unlikely to both be in your setup and sub 2/3 (presumably) just needs to backup for a week and get those appearance points.

Of course, though, if you're setting up a rotating backline of cheapies then doubling doesn't make sense.

Tempting because well-priced, but no. Get either Tommo or W-B not both; when Palace have bad fixtures you're stuck with the 3 remaining defenders, one of whom might also have a bad fixture or be dropped.

    Man City best Milf?

There really isn't one. Which of Mahrez KDB Sterling Sane Silva to go for? There are too many options. They are expensive. There will be rotation.

Conclusion: Stay away from City Milfs for the time being. The money is better invested in Mane/Eriksen/Alexis types.

It is a risk to get them but it is a risk well worth taking

They are one of the few teams capable of scoring 4 or 5 goals a game and with those fixtures it will be very hard to ignore them

Agree with Syd. Last season even with rotation, 4 of the City midfs were still amongst the highest scorers and proved value for money. I keep an active bench so I can absorb the odd rotation.

Bournemouth get 'written off' every season. Finished 9th - i'm talking about rotation anyways so you would only have one in for home games kicking off with Cardiff.

I didn't write them off last season, and got burned accordingly. They kept very few clean sheets and have barely strengthened. I've got King in my draft but no more defenders for me this year.

            Try Newcastle.
            Rotate well with Palace imo.
Good defensive unit too. Concede less than Arsenal.
Becoming better with Duvraka (or whatever the keeper name) and Dummet.

With my usual slow start to Fpl every year, I've decided to take a new approach. A conservative approach doesn't work in the first few weeks of fpl imo.

Will be going Salah-less and captaining Mane for the first few games.

    Brave or foolish?

I think it's a brave yet worthy call to go without Salah, but not to captain Mane. Without Salah you can captain the likes of Harry, Auba, Eden or even Kev.

I never start well so probably shouldn't listen to me. I am probably overly punty but I think this is the year for conservatism.

Salah-less is brave (but this could be well rewarded). Mane captain is foolish.

A bloke at work has trebled up on Man City + Liverpool attack (3 from each!).
All though I think it is terrible idea + massive gamble, looking at it made me feel uneasy. So much attacking returns potential.

I've gone for 2 from each, I think it is almost essential.
