We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

You can watch that video below or on our YouTube channel.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

In our latest edition of ScoutCast Extra Time, Mark takes us through two different teams he is considering before Saturday’s 11:30am deadline – one with Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and one without.

    Should I play

    Ings (LEI) or
    Fraser (EVE)

    ?

I will play Wilson as well

      Ings.

Wilson is irrelevant unless you are considering benching him instead

Ah HDAL - long time. Think we last conversed around your amazing Rebecca Vardy 'in'. Legendary. Now look at him!

Anyway - think stick with Boly. Bet there's more pressing -4/8s next week....

        Ha!!
Just think City could get him 0/-1 I can get anyone up to 6.3 instead

      Play him.
You’ll have to hit a 4.5 defender with returns to make it worthwhile.
Besides Wolves have decent fixtures coming up (especially 5&7) and Boly could get a return as well

    This is my current team:

    Ederson - Hamer
    Alonso - Robertson - Mendy - Tomkins - WB
    Salah(C) - Mane - Mkhi - Richarlison - Pedro
    Aguero(VC) - Ings - Kamara

    A) Tomkins-Pedro-Ings
    B) Bennett-Fraser-Zaha

A or B which favours my WC team?

        B. The two playing are nailed on and you already have a Palace def in awb

Thank you. Bennett might lose his place in the coming few weeks. That might be trouble, esp with Kamara already in there! Plus, I already captured 0.1M rise from Pedro and Ings about to rise 0.1M. Hence, I'm confused again!

Yeah Bennet isn’t 100% nailed, but then again how often would you use your 3rd sub.
Besides I’m not convinced either of Pedro or Ings are nailed

    G2G?

    Hamer
    Mendy, Robertson, Tomkins
    Salah (C), Bilva, Pedro, Richarlison
    Aguero (VC), Auba, Arnautovic

    Patricio, Peltier, Stephens, AWB

    1FT, 0.0 ITB

Considering Bilva to Mkhi, but I think I'd rather roll the 2 FT

          not to me.

because the only one you'd sell would be Bsilva, who's got a decent fixture against Wolves.

Better to not -4, and then trade next week.

Why are we leaning towards De Gea? Isn’t the probability of a CS higher for Hamer? With Matic out and the defence in shambles atm, aren’t United very likely to concede?

      1. Moosie the Staggie
        • 14 Years
        8 years, 2 days ago

DDG word class, Hamer is useless. He was abysmal when called into action at Leicester last season and nothing has changed in his first two matches, he was at fault for at least 3 goals

United 4 clean sheets in a row against Spurs at Old Trafford and imo DDG has more chance of racking up save points too.

        1. MMN

It’s last 3 not last 4, isn’t it? Isn’t the probablilty of cleanies for both the most important thing?

But have they ever gone in in this form (and I think no Matic is a big deal) and kept a cleanie? The CS odds are in favour of Hamer although I think they’ll both concede

DDG is set and forget. If you're gonna bench the most expensive keeper in the game then you shouldn't have him imo.

This is illogical. Pick the player who you believe will get the most points.

It was logic that kept me away from DDG this season and that decision has been going great 🙂

That doesn’t mean that the comment above isn’t illogical.

I was thinking of selling De Gea actually and then realised Valencia and Matic might be back. If I had noticed their absence at the start of the season, I may have stayed away. But having said that, I think they might start bagging a few cleanies after Spurs with them back in the side.

But you get him with a 4.0 fodder keeper. But if that keeper is starting to the likely lowest scorers in the league and De Gea is playing City for example in this kind of United team, then don’t you go with the odds? This is a unique scenario in the sense that we didn’t expect Hamer to play and also it’s only with such a fixture swing that you’d do consider this. The decision of who to start this week should be made in isolation shouldn’t it? (Depending on who has that better predicted points)

Why would I enjoy it if I bench De Gea?

Btw the questions in the comment above were genuine and not rhetorical. Curious as to what people who would start De Gea think.

A probable cleanie and a solid chance for attacking returns, but those clean sheets can be slippery. The safe bets are the captaincy leaders (Salah, Aguero, Mane, etc.)

Just say I was wild enough to play a certain card after this round has been, I might go from:

    GK Ederson
    D Robertson
    D Mendy
    D Daniels
    M Neves
    M Mkhitaryan
    M Salah
    M Richarlison
    F Aguero
    F Firmino
    F Arnautovic
    S Hamer
    S Wan-Bissaka
    S Schneiderlin
    S Peltier

    to:

    GK Ederson
    D Robertson
    D Mendy
    D Alonso
    M Neves
    M Mkhitaryan
    M Mane
    M Richarlison
    F Aguero
    F Kane
    F Arnautovic
    S Hamer
    S Wan-Bissaka
    S Cairney
    S Bennett

Idea being to swap Neves/Cairney/Wan-Bissaka in to starting lineup each week depending on fixtures.

If I don't play the WC, I'll be transferring Alonso in for Daniels probably next round anyway as got rid of Eriksen this week to free up the dosh. So main bit I guess is, Kane and Mane or Salah and Firmino?

    Cheers

Moura as utd looked poor defensively

      Tough one.

United look poor at the back. Not sure what to expect from them, I can United sitting back and inviting spurs onto them. If that happens I expect Kane, Alli and Eriksen to annihilate united here. Moura could also get in on the act

Burnley are also conceding, Cairney slightly less attacking role however but on some set pieces.

I'd probably go moura because spurs are the better team and I think they will go for the kill v united

Appreciate the insight. Lots of pressure on MU to get a result so i think they will tidy up things at the back. On Cairney at the moment, but purely because I also have Shaw.
