With so many highly-owned options facing off in Gameweek 7, differentials could take on a bigger role than usual.
There are several premium Fantasy Premier League assets involved in an unpredictable meeting between Chelsea and Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, which has had a big effect on the build-up to this weekend’s action.
We’ve gone over the options owned by fewer than 5% of Fantasy managers to see which ones could help propel you up the rankings.
Raheem Sterling (£11.0m)
Ownership: 3.4%
With attacking returns in all but one of his five league appearances in 2018/19, it is incredible that Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) is still only in fewer than 5% of Fantasy squads.
Of course, we know why many have overlooked the Manchester City midfielder. The return to regular starts for Sergio Aguero as well as high ownership for Mohamed Salah and Eden Hazard have left little room in the plans of Fantasy managers.
But his low ownership leaves the door open for anyone looking to move away from the template. The Gameweek that pits Salah against Hazard does provide the opportunity for some managers to get Sterling in for an appealing home match against Brighton.
The former Liverpool man has only missed one league match in 2018/19 and played just 35 minutes midweek. That would suggest he should survive the Pep Guardiola rotation roulette for Gameweek 7.
In the last four Gameweeks, no player has touched the ball in opposing penalty boxes as many times as Sterling. He has also struck a healthy balance between goal threat and creativity, registering six shots on target and nine key passes in that time.
Andre Schürrle (£5.9m)
Ownership: 5.0%
Aleksandar Mitrovic may be the standout Fulham attacker for his five goals in the first six Gameweeks, but his colleague Andre Schürrle (£5.9m) is also worth considering.
The German has actually recorded the same number of shots on target as Mitrovic in the last four Gameweeks. Schürrle is normally a little more speculative with his efforts, over two-thirds of them coming from outside of the penalty box.
But with a potential saving of £1.1m, Schürrle could offer value in midfield compared to his forward counterpart, especially as some managers look to free up room for options such as Harry Kane (£12.4m) this week.
There should be goals for Fulham in Gameweek 7 with Everton averaging 1.83 goals conceded per match.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.4m)
Ownership: 1.3%
Fantasy managers have already targetted Everton’s Gameweek 7 match-up with Fulham as a potentially high-scoring affair. Both sides have very potent attacks but neither one has kept a clean sheet in 2018/19.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.4m) should be involved in the Toffees’ inevitable goals at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon considering his role in set-pieces.
The Icelandic midfielder is the chief corner taker for Everton, who now have the dangerous Michael Keane (£4.9m) back in the fold too.
