The Fantasy Football Scout community have been hard at it again over the last seven days, producing the usual superb array of articles and tables as reflect on Gameweek 6 and look ahead to Gameweek 7.

The hot topics, meanwhile, have ranged from Harry Kane to the psychology of Fantasy managers.

Our latest Community Round-up feature also looks over the various tournaments and mini-leagues that involve FFS users.

The Hottest Topics

Rewind back to the beginning of the week and the FFS community were sharing their tales of joy and woe in our regular Rough with the Smooth hot topic.

We also asked if any of you were interested by three in-form premium forwards and were interested to hear about your thoughts on heavy hitters in defence.

Legomane asked if captaincy was losing its lustre, while one candidate for the armband in Gameweek 7 – Harry Kane – was the focus of a hot topic started by Rotation’s Alter Ego.

“RAE” also helpfully trawled through the Scoutcast again to bring us the timestamps of each section.

We have yet to have a Premier League sacking this season – but this hot topic pondered which managers seem most at risk.

Speculation on which player would be the breakout star of Gameweek 7 was rife, while G-Whizz looked ahead to this weekend too with his Doosra Stats, clean sheet probabilities and fixture odds.

FPL “culture” was the focus of two more hot topics: Irbox‘s look at the psychology of Fantasy managers and NOMONEY‘s request for an update on the common abbreviations.

@ocprodigy rounded up the results of the Scout Picks Challenge for Gameweek 5 and Gameweek 6, meanwhile.

Community Articles

Two to bring you this week, both of them regular features:

Community Tables

Here is just a small selection of the excellent array of public tables created this week and available in the Members’ area:

Remember, to see your table featured here (if that’s what you want!) please ensure you include a description explaining the purpose of it.

Community Tournaments

Cosmin Rotaru still leads our public FFS League but has dropped a couple of places to 14th in the world rankings.

Andrew McKinnon still leads our FFS Members League after playing his Wildcard, and is now up to 34th overall.

RedLightning has regained the lead in FFS Mods & Cons after playing his Wildcard. He finally got points for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has sat on his bench all season up until Gameweek 6. The Crystal Palace man came in for Marko Arnautovic.

Ashley Humphrey is the new leader of RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is up to 28th overall, without using any chips. This is Ashley’s 13th season, with two top 10k finishes (1181st in 2012/13 and 4424th in 2014/15).

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that CALM will be the charity we will donate to after our next charity tournament.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2016, 76% of all UK suicides were male.

If there is no need for me to sell Mendy for a hit, should I just hold on for this final week?

What the hell should i do with this lot? Who to bench? Who to cap? Transfer Mendy? etc.. 1 FT and no WC left

    Patricio Begovic
    Robertson Alonso Mendy Bennet AWB
    Mane DSilva Hazard Richarlison Höjbjerg
    Mitro Aguero Wilson

Current bench: Bego, Bennet, AWB, Höjbjerg
    Current cap: Aguero

Yeah that may be the sensible move to make.. However i'm actually alright with Bennett coming in for this gw alone. I'm hesitating because i see a scenario where Mendy plays next GW and Trip sits out haha.. My mind is all over the place

Selling Mendy depends on what price you got him for! If you can make 0.1 for selling him do it, otherwise hold! As for team, definitely play Bennett. Play front 7 (without Holbjerg). I am seriously considering playing AWB over Robbo or Alonso (see below) but maybe too risky!

i've had him from the start, so selling price would be 6.1.. Yeah i can see that, with Van dijk possibly out i'm also considering him instead of Robertson

Premium keepers aren’t worth it and Utd defence has not proved worthy of doubling up on so far this season. Who is your other keeper, by the way?

If I was WCing today I’d get Dubravka in goal. Hart and Patricio also great options and free up cash for a better 3rd striker.

Kamara is a genuine waste of a bench spot and the volatile relationship with Mourinho would make me want to steer well clear of Pogba right now.

Stephens is injured, I’d spend the extra £0.1 on Billing instead.

Oh yeah, no Alonso on a WC??!

Thanks for taking the time to help me out there. If I went De Gea to Patrício and upgraded Kamara to jiminez wouldn’t it be a waste having an expensive player on the bench?
I have also took your billing tip, great call there cheers

I now that this has been asked many times before but since the pages are now slowing down I was wondering if we could get a discussion on it.

Would you captain Kane or kun?

Imo the main things to consider are: Kane has the much easier fixture but kun is in better form. Spurs is missing alli and eriksen. kun’s minutes will be managed due to champions league.

    Anything I missed? Thoughts?

    1. Brosstan
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 2 months ago

Spurs look depleted and Kane himself is in shite form. Kun is the obvious pick even with possible limited minutes.

        • 7 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

Cheers! Kane has been very poor recently but huddersfield is just awful. Thought that spurs were looking better at times vs Brighton and we’re putting them under a lot of pressure

        1. Bad Kompany
          • 7 Years

But then after the first goal they looked poor again. Agree that kun is probably the better pick but think that if Kane and spurs hit form he could get a huge score while kun isn’t likely to get more than 2 goals/assists

If I had Kane I would probably captain if I wanted to pick up in the rankings. Most people have Aguero and are likely to captain, so if he goes bang you will get punished. However, I have a feeling they will manage his minutes again. Kane against Huddersfield (who lets be honest are going down with Cardiff) is a very juicy fixture. Kane showed glimpses of being back to his best last week, so I think he might be the way to go. If you are protecting rank though...no brainer it is Aguero!

    5. mosmof
      • 13 Years

I don't see Kane as having the much easier fixture. Spurs are 1/2 to beat Huddersfield. Man City are 1/10 to beat Brighton. Aguero is much shorter in the Anytime Goalscorer market.

      1. Bad Kompany
        • 7 Years

Think city has the better chance of winning but that Huddersfield away would be an easier fixture than Brighton at home

    Ederson, Hamer
    TAA, AWB, Alonso, Bennett, Mendy
    Hazard, Mane, Walcott, Fraser, Pedro
    Aguero, Zaha, Ings

    1ft £1.4 ITB

Do i Transfer out Pedro and Mendy for a hit??
    Any other suggestions?

    1. wendty
      • 12 Years
      7 years, 2 months ago

Definitely I would do it. If you didn't have Walcott the simple answer would be Richarlison in this week vs Fulham (you might want him anyway for Everton double up). Other option is Maddison! Or could downgrade completely to 4.5m and then use cash in future to upgrade forward line. Mendy I doubt will play anytime soon so wasting away on bench. If you can get 0.1 profit from him I reckon it is worth it. Maybe a New defender who have good fixtures coming up...or double up with Wolves! Extra

    [bottomed]
    Mendy > ...
    1) Laporte -- some extra funds, plus extra City asset
    2) Trippier -- premium, threat, but not much left ITB for mid upgrade
    3) Doherty -- good fixture, BPS, lot more ITB (autopick chose this one)
    4) Mendy, Gud > Doherty, Richarlison (-4)

Only way of affording it is Maddison. Not sure if I want to, tempting though.

Arsenal assets are beginning to frustrate me a little. Can't quite justify the investment but it's turning predictable when they score between Ramsey, Aubameyang and Lacazette

Depends if u plan to get salah back in for a hit in a few weeks if so it probably won’t be worth it unless Kane goes silly

I was planning on getting Salah back in in 3 gameweeks time along with Arnie

I just feel like it was a great time to take advantage of fixtures:

                    Kane (Hudd, Cardiff)
                    Richarlison (Fulham, Leicester)

                    Vs

                    Salah (Chels, City)
                    Ings (Wolves, United)

                    You can see my logic

Would you need another hit to get Salah back in GW9 for same fixtures Kane has now?

Don’t really fancy any of the Mendy replacements this week. Maybe a Brighton or Newcastle player next week for a more long term solution and we may get more news.
