The Fantasy Football Scout community have been hard at it again over the last seven days, producing the usual superb array of articles and tables as reflect on Gameweek 6 and look ahead to Gameweek 7.

The hot topics, meanwhile, have ranged from Harry Kane to the psychology of Fantasy managers.

Our latest Community Round-up feature also looks over the various tournaments and mini-leagues that involve FFS users.

The Hottest Topics

Rewind back to the beginning of the week and the FFS community were sharing their tales of joy and woe in our regular Rough with the Smooth hot topic.

We also asked if any of you were interested by three in-form premium forwards and were interested to hear about your thoughts on heavy hitters in defence.

Legomane asked if captaincy was losing its lustre, while one candidate for the armband in Gameweek 7 – Harry Kane – was the focus of a hot topic started by Rotation’s Alter Ego.

“RAE” also helpfully trawled through the Scoutcast again to bring us the timestamps of each section.

We have yet to have a Premier League sacking this season – but this hot topic pondered which managers seem most at risk.

Speculation on which player would be the breakout star of Gameweek 7 was rife, while G-Whizz looked ahead to this weekend too with his Doosra Stats, clean sheet probabilities and fixture odds.

FPL “culture” was the focus of two more hot topics: Irbox‘s look at the psychology of Fantasy managers and NOMONEY‘s request for an update on the common abbreviations.

@ocprodigy rounded up the results of the Scout Picks Challenge for Gameweek 5 and Gameweek 6, meanwhile.

Community Articles

Two to bring you this week, both of them regular features:

Community Tables

Here is just a small selection of the excellent array of public tables created this week and available in the Members’ area:

Remember, to see your table featured here (if that’s what you want!) please ensure you include a description explaining the purpose of it.

Community Tournaments

Cosmin Rotaru still leads our public FFS League but has dropped a couple of places to 14th in the world rankings.

Andrew McKinnon still leads our FFS Members League after playing his Wildcard, and is now up to 34th overall.

RedLightning has regained the lead in FFS Mods & Cons after playing his Wildcard. He finally got points for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has sat on his bench all season up until Gameweek 6. The Crystal Palace man came in for Marko Arnautovic.

Ashley Humphrey is the new leader of RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is up to 28th overall, without using any chips. This is Ashley’s 13th season, with two top 10k finishes (1181st in 2012/13 and 4424th in 2014/15).

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that CALM will be the charity we will donate to after our next charity tournament.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2016, 76% of all UK suicides were male.

You can find all details about the event HERE.

What's the verdict on bringing in Kane then? The only thing putting me off is the Barca game but other than that I feel it's a no brainer transfer. Can see him playing 90 mins in either the HUD or CAR game but only one of them.

They are poor teams. I think he’ll start both and do enough to justify his inclusion in the first 70 minutes

he was rested, although I doubt he'll play the full 90 considering they have CL midweek and then Liverpool away next weekend. It depends on the score I'd guess

They will want him fresh for the CL so he won’t play 90 unless they’re struggling to score (even then, he’ll probably be changed after 60-70 mins)

    Hey guys,
I'm seriously considering (by considering I mean about to do) Salah and Ings --> Rich and Kane for free. I'm Genuinely surprised that so many are against this move for the next 2 weeks given that a lot were happy to ditch Salah for Hazard a a few weeks ago and Kane/Salah/Hazard have all shown that they can all light up the FPL scoreboard when they are in the mood.

Is it fear that he will do something and you'll regret making the move? It can't be fixtures because those are in Kane' favour. You can't really claim form as they have both scored 3 so far this season and Salah had the more jammy goal last GW. I guess the eye test will favour Salah slightly imo but we all know what Kane can do when he gets going.

I have my W/C so I can easily bail out after 2 weeks if this goes south. If It pays off then I'll have some hard choices to make in a few weeks. I Still have Mane and Robertson so will not be totally devoid of Liverpool cover as they look like they can score every game.

Would just like some views on why this isn't getting any traction this week?

    Thanks,

especially since Aguero might not play a full game and this worsens his captaincy potential

I haven't seen much talk against this kind of move, and most hesitation I've seen has been about taking a hit to do it. It's a fine move for a free when you've still got your wc to revert back if and when the time comes.

I'm having similar thoughts TBH. My rival has Salah and Hazard so they would both need a quiet few games where they do very little and that's the worry. Spurs and Harry haven't looked very sharp so it's a leap of faith.... FF seems to be more about playing the percentages.

      1. Phaze 1
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

Agreed that Liverpool do look a much better outfit than Spurs. I guess you just have to weight how much you value fixtures in FPL. I think it a very close call and the slight edge should go to Kane given the fixtures.

I don't think this decision will make or break my season but it is the type of situation in the last few seasons that I've just gone the safe ( Majority) route and my results have not been what they use to be. Had a decent start so I'll try and take a few more calculated risks this season.

        • 14 Years

I'm not really looking for confirmation as my mind was already made up. I was just looking for an explanation as to why people were so against it when the information I'm looking at makes it at the very least, a close decision.

I think it’s easier to be pro-Kane after he hauls v Huddersfield but by then it’s too late as everyone will have him! It’s harder to be early

Save the transfer or is Salah & Arnie > Kane & Fraser -4 worth a shout?
Could just do Mane to Hazard but seems to have similar risks i.e. whoever I take out could score big

Can always do Cairney > Hojberg and Mane > Salah over next 2GW if necessary or use funds to bring in Ederson and Mendy.

    Fabianski
    Tripper, Robertson, Alonso, Boly,
    Fraser, Mane, Richarlison,

    Foster (Hamer)
VVD, PVA, Alonso, Trippier (Wan B)
    Salah, Mane, Pogba, Fraser (Cairney)
    Aguero, Zaha (Kamara)

Salah & Kamara > Laca & Rich (-4) & then will get Salah back with round 9 WC. Or any other Mid/Forward combo for 17.3. Cheers guys

Could pay off, but you could just do Pogba -> Rich

Probably Maddison edges it, but it's close between Fraser and Ramsey too... also would put TAA ahead of Holebas on bench.

-4 for Mendy to Tripp or play WB (main competitor has Henny, so WB is good cover).

    Ryan please drop.
Sea of green after this week - 4.4 would be sweet. Cmon.
Don't think he will drop if it does not happen tonight.

If on a WC this week it's definitely annoying if that happens.
