The final two matches of Gameweek 12 kick off simultaneously at 16:30 GMT, with the Manchester derby at the Etihad the stand-out fixture.

Arsenal take on Wolves at the Emirates in the other tea-time game.

Manchester City have made just one change from the side that beat Southampton last weekend, with Riyad Mahrez replacing Leroy Sane.

That alteration will likely see Raheem Sterling move over to the left flank, as he had done in the Champions League in midweek.

Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy return to the City starting XI after being rested for that win over Shakhtar.

The injured Paul Pogba misses out altogether for United, while Romelu Lukaku is fit enough for a place on the bench after a return to training on Friday.

Alexis Sanchez drops out of the United line-up, meanwhile, with Marcus Rashford set to lead the attack.

Marouane Fellaini returns to a defensive-looking central midfield alongside Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic.

In north London, Unai Emery has made one change from the side that drew with Liverpool: Alex Iwobi replacing Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the right flank.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side remains unchanged, though Diogo Jota has recovered from injury to take his place among the Wolves substitutes.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Silva, Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Martial.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Iwobi, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette.

Wolves XI: Patricio, Coady, Bennett, Boly, Jonny, Neves, Moutinho, Doherty, Costa, Cavaleiro, Jimenez.

    Best Tripp replacement?

Mendy and TAA have similar fixtures.

    Rest of defense:

If I had Kun he's the obvious pick for me. Rested during the international break and playing a very leaky west ham side.

Away from home possibly only playing 60 minutes? It just doesnt stand out to me. West Ham havent conceded more than 2 in the league since gw3 - doesn't seem too leaky to me. May be wrong.

I hope Alonso's performance today has finally put to bed the the idea that he has no attacking threat these days. Mendy on the other hand..

    1. BenDavies
      • 13 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

For me Alonso has always been essential since the early weeks. I just don't see how you can look past his CS, assist and goal threat potential.

    2. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
      • 16 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

People need to chill out on Mendy. He has 10 returns in 9 games, and offers a slot in the best defence in the league for a paltry 6.0. It's kind of like the calls for Alonso's head when he went 4 games without an attacking return. If Mendy stays fit it's a bad idea to sell imo

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

Exactly. RAM/Doc/AWB to me is such an easy call. It allows you to just concentrate on the other players.

        1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
          • 16 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

What you make of Doc's 5 points in his last 4 games? cause for concern? I'm thinking TAA>him for his two nice fixtures, then Doc>Trippier GW15 - but in two minds on whether to just skip Doherty altogether, he seemed a bit too good to be true, stats aside

          1. Demel
            • 14 Years
            7 years, 6 months ago

I wouldn't be worried. He was all set for 3 bonus points before Arsenal scored. He rotates perfectly with Fraser. I am happy to hold. I did get him at 4.4m though. I wouldn't punt on him for 2 weeks. Just go TAA>Trips when the time is right. I think both are the best options for a 4th defender to start every week.

    The Holy Trinity:
    GW12: 22pts
    GW11: 10pts
    GW10: 17pts
    GW9: 17pts
    GW8: 17pts
    GW7: 4pts
    GW6: 13pts
    GW5: 6pts
    GW4: 19pts
    GW3: 24pts
    GW2: 28pts
    GW1: 37pts

Since Mendy came back from injury (i.e. Last 5GW): Alonso 32pts, Mendy 25pts, Robbo 28pts. 83pts total and average 5.53 per game.

From GW1: Alonso 86pts, Mendy 57pts, Robbo 71pts. Including Mendy's injury (but probably cancelled out by Alonso's braces) it goes up to 214pts and a tasty average 5.94pts per game.

I might be preaching to the choir here but I'm not seeing a reason to take any of them out your team. Robbo had 2 blanks, hit a 12. Having all 3 means when one or even two blank (Thanks Ederson), the others pick up the slack. And whenever they come near goal they hoover up the Bonus points. Worth considering for anyone worried about Mendy's blanks.

    B) RIcharlison (currently 0.6m less)

    Alonso & Fraser -> Peltier & Sterling

    Patricio, Fabianski
    Doherty, Robertson, Mendy, AWB, Peltier
    Hazard, Salah, Sterling, Richarlison, Puncheon
    Arnie, Vardy, Jimenez

Dont think Alosono is worth his price and can see some of the teams can score on Chelsea in upcoming fixtures.
Sterling seems to hit form and was close today again to get points..

Had doubled up with Robertson for the good fixtures (just before he was benched twice). Was considering selling him after Fulham to David Luis (double up with Alonso). Now wondering if that’s sensible given he started last 2. Do we think he is >75% likely to start over the coming Gws

Yeah shocking decisions but still early in the season.

Same - I was so looking forward to Lacazette this afternoon. Basically having him over Arnautovic is the money I've saved from having Mane over Salah. Oh well, hopefully he's even more of a differential soon.

Happens quite often tbh. Work the side into a position where I can get Laca instead of Jimenez/Wilson and he keeps being beaten by them.

Compounded by Ederson being an absolute t*t two weeks running. Pretty frustrating tbh.

Yeah really annoying. Going without Salah means I'm so much happier with my team overall - had Aubameyang in the beginning and Lacazette now, only for them to be beaten by the likes Jimenez every week.

    How serious is Pogba injury?
Everyone jumping on Martial but Pogba has higher 6 gw projected score and is nailed 100% plus on penos first choice so isnt he better option if funds available?
