Captains

Vote in the Captain poll for Gameweek 18

There is a whole of options for the captain’s armband in Gameweek 18 and now you can cast your vote in the latest poll below.

Manchester City’s home match against Crystal Palace instantly looks like one fixture to target with the defending Premier League champions so dominant at home.

Leroy Sané (£9.6m), Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) are expected to be the most backed Citizens given their form at the Etihad Stadium this season.

Those perhaps unwilling to risk a ticket for ‘Pep Guardiola Roulette’ might look to Tottenham’s Sunday afternoon trip to face Everton.

Harry Kane (£12.6m) may have been sluggish against Burnley but the Toffees are without a clean sheet since Gameweek 13, while the Spurs forward netted a brace amid criticism from Fantasy managers at Goodison Park last season.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and Son Heung-min (£8.5m) may also be considered by anyone with little faith in Marco Silva’s defence.

A return to a more familiar attacking style for Liverpool in their 3-1 win over Manchester United may reinvigorate support for Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and his colleagues.

Elsewhere, an in-form Eden Hazard (£11.0m) hosts a Leicester City side without a clean sheet on the road since Gameweek 11.

Arsenal are the outfit hosting the obliging Burnley defence in Gameweek 18 but it will be interesting to see how much the disappointing scores of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) and Alexander Lacazette (£9.6m), combined with the Clarets’ tight display against Spurs, will affect their share of this week’s vote.

Any thoughts as to what to prioritise with my 2 FTs? Hazard? Auba/Laca? Just swapping Arnie for a mid price striker?

Great team! I'd ship out Arnie and bring in Laca - maybe wait and see who will start agains Spurs tomorrow. Alternatively you could go Arnie --> Chicharito and maybe bring in Hazard for Sane?

As a Hazard and Laca owner, there is no way I would lose Hazard. Laca on the other hand...

From that, I would prioritise Hazard.

Hazard is probably the no1 target, but I can't see how you'd get him in without taking a hit, which isn't ideal. Might be best to focus on a Arnautovic move and bank a transfer.

Auba missed 5 big chances over last 2 games. His high conversion rate seems to be normalized now. Is he due a big haul against Burnley? Would you do Kane - Auba hockey cockey in next 2GWs with the team below?

    Fabianski Hamer
    Alonso Robertson Doherty Digne AWB
    Hazard Sterling Sane Richarlison Snoddy
    Kane Jimenez Kamara

For free I would consider it. But decisions like this have backfired massively around the christmas period. Might want to hold onto transfers for more pressing issues...

I Know WanB is not expensive but what is the reason to keep him now.
In my team fro the start but the Wolves (Doherty) rotation has died.
I have spare cash and could easily get Man U/Chelsea/Spurs players now. (I have Robbo Alonso and Digne)
My concern is with rotation Doherty and WanB come off the bench and give me zero.
    Anyone thinking the same.

I play 3 premiums at the back and WB is simply cheap bench fodder that can cover injuries. No intention to start him except in exceptional fixture circumstances. If he gets points on my bench then hopefully his price is rising too and I can cash him in for other fodder. I would rather him to a non playing 4.0 defender for obvious reasons.

Just treat him as Hamer and ignore his hauls

Third on my bench and if he comes on I will rage quit, I really will, honest, don’t try to stop me ... 🙂

Not worth wasting a transfer to move him on either

I have the same defense (see above) and I am quite happy with them and it is the last line of my team to change something. Only this GW there became a bottleneck in rotation with all Doherty, Digne and AWB have tough fixtures but after this week it is a defence that even allows you to play with 4 atb most weeks. I wouldn't change anything yet.

Not really, cause who else could you get for that price who is a decent bench player that can get you points now and then?

        @MirrorAnderson
Manchester United don’t want Zinedine Zidane. Are prepared to wait for Mauricio Pochettino once they have an experienced caretaker like Laurent Blanc in charge for the rest of the season.

Anderson knows his stuff. So can assume it'll be Blanc for the season. Just hope Levy doesn't allow Poch to join Utd next summer!

Really unsure about TAA. And if i can get a decent replacement? I can afford TAA out 1-2 weeks. But nothing more.

Save. TAAs injury is being monitored on a "day by day" basis according to Klopp. There aren't many standout replacements and the popular pick (Digne) has does nothing except for one haul for some time so I'd monitor him until he does something.

I'm in the same boat with TAA. Think I'm going to stick with him for now until I hear further news

Yes. Agree. He is awsome at his price range. On free kick, clean sheets.

          A. Duffy>? (Digne or Watford defender would be preferred choice but not this week)
          B. Save FT (Want Hazard so 2 would be useful to get him in next week)

I think it would be Great news Lukaku as he has trained a similar player in Erling Braut Håland in Molde and got the best out of him.

            Hi all FPL enthusiasts,
Need some help with figuring out who to captain this game week. keep in mind thesis the team I want to role with over the christmas period until Jan 1st. My gut tells me Sterling, but only if he is rested today in the league cup tie. Sane has been on fire & Aubameyang plays Burnley.
Also thinking swapping out Kolasinac >> Lovren & Jimenez >> Ings. Ings and Lovren will definitely get a price increase over the next 2 games weeks.
            Here is my team.
            (3-4-3)
            Fabianski
            Digne Balbeuna Kolasinac
            Sane Sterling Richarlison Son
            Jimenez Kane Aubameyang
            Bench.
            Bennett Guendouzi AWB

            All advice appreciated!!!
