The final match of Gameweek 18 – and indeed the last Premier League fixture before Christmas – takes place this afternoon, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in action at Goodison Park. Kick-off on Merseyside is at 16:00 GMT.

Marco Silva declared that Richarlison (£7.0m) had recovered from a cold in his press conference on Friday and indeed the Brazilian midfielder is well enough to take his place on the left flank today, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.3m) given the nod to lead the line after his goal at the Etihad last Saturday.

The former Watford winger is owned by twice as many Fantasy Premier League managers as the next most-selected Everton asset, sitting in 31.2% of FPL squads.

Over 240,000 Fantasy bosses have benched Richarlison for this game, though.

Silva has made two changes to his starting XI and has reverted to a 4-2-3-1 after his experimentation with a wing-back system in last week’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

Theo Walcott (£6.2m) and Tom Davies (£5.1m) come into the side, with Bernard (£5.9m) and Yerry Mina (£5.4m) dropping to the bench.

Harry Kane (£12.5m) is the third-most-popular captaincy pick of Gameweek 18, with just over 700,000 FPL managers handing him the armband.

The England striker has delivered an attacking return (four goals, three assists) in each of his last six Premier League starts.

Kane, the second-most-sold FPL forward of this round of matches, lines up as the spearhead of the Spurs attack this afternoon as Mauricio Pochettino makes four changes from the side that beat Burnley in Gameweek 17.

Son Heung-min (£8.5m), Harry Winks (£5.5m), Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and the fit-again Davinson Sanchez (£5.8m) come into the side as Danny Rose (£5.8m), Oliver Skipp (£4.5m), Erik Lamela (£6.2m) and Lucas Moura (£7.0m) make way.

Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) makes his third start at right-back in eight days, while Dele Alli (£8.9m) does likewise in midfield.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Davies, Gomes, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Spurs XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane.

    Sterling to KDB? ??
Allows Fraser to Martial or Pogba

Madness. I figure KDB is ready to play consistently again and will be more nailed.

    Sterling & Fraser < KDB & Martial / pogba

Depends which GWs you want to cover fixtures for, or do you want to permanently play or bench this player. Perma bench would be Bednarek.

Any reason bar price that people are preferring Lingard/Martial to Pogba?

Way I see it, Pogba is the best of the three and also likely the most nailed. Pens too, normally.

same if sanchez and kaku are back ofc all will be rotated. If pogboom continues to play higher up the midfield he is the one i want

      2. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Lots of people think Lingard is most likely to be on pens. That along with price, along with thepraise on MotD should explain most of it I think. (personally disagree with the pens evaluation)

        1. Deulofail
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 3 months ago

With regards to Martial, again the price, but also people tend to prefer attacking players, and Martial is one of, if not the most, attacking players in the United team. Pogba has great goal (scoring) threat for the price, but not as much as Martial, at least in layman's terms of positioning. Perhaps greater goal involvement though.

If you prefer Pogba, I'd just go for him. Likely to be an excellent pick imo

I think Martial is the more consistent attacking threat. Pogba's first 2 assists were very lucky in that they were nothing positions that the goalscorers made something of with speculative efforts. I'd want to see more threat from Pogba before I make the outlay on him.

      Fabianski
      Doherty - AWB - Robbo
      Hazard - Salah - Pogba - Felipe
      Jimenez - Rashford - Kane

      Bench: Laporte, Camarasa, Yoshida, Button.

Made my 2FT early by bringing in Pogba and Rashford for Kenedy and Lacazette.

Am I making the correct decision to bench Laporte..?

I think people will be burned by united once Lukaku returns, bar Pogba maybe.
