The final match of Gameweek 18 – and indeed the last Premier League fixture before Christmas – takes place this afternoon, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in action at Goodison Park. Kick-off on Merseyside is at 16:00 GMT.

Marco Silva declared that Richarlison (£7.0m) had recovered from a cold in his press conference on Friday and indeed the Brazilian midfielder is well enough to take his place on the left flank today, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.3m) given the nod to lead the line after his goal at the Etihad last Saturday.

The former Watford winger is owned by twice as many Fantasy Premier League managers as the next most-selected Everton asset, sitting in 31.2% of FPL squads.

Over 240,000 Fantasy bosses have benched Richarlison for this game, though.

Silva has made two changes to his starting XI and has reverted to a 4-2-3-1 after his experimentation with a wing-back system in last week’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

Theo Walcott (£6.2m) and Tom Davies (£5.1m) come into the side, with Bernard (£5.9m) and Yerry Mina (£5.4m) dropping to the bench.

Harry Kane (£12.5m) is the third-most-popular captaincy pick of Gameweek 18, with just over 700,000 FPL managers handing him the armband.

The England striker has delivered an attacking return (four goals, three assists) in each of his last six Premier League starts.

Kane, the second-most-sold FPL forward of this round of matches, lines up as the spearhead of the Spurs attack this afternoon as Mauricio Pochettino makes four changes from the side that beat Burnley in Gameweek 17.

Son Heung-min (£8.5m), Harry Winks (£5.5m), Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) and the fit-again Davinson Sanchez (£5.8m) come into the side as Danny Rose (£5.8m), Oliver Skipp (£4.5m), Erik Lamela (£6.2m) and Lucas Moura (£7.0m) make way.

Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) makes his third start at right-back in eight days, while Dele Alli (£8.9m) does likewise in midfield.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Zouma, Digne, Davies, Gomes, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Spurs XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane.

Pickford's touch didn't significantly alter the intended destination of the ball.

Either I've got the rule wrong, or that's a Kane assist.

Got to be a Kane assist. Touch doesn’t change intended destination or receiver

It’s going to Son, the deflection doesn’t change that at all

I own Kane, but disagree. Son has tackled Pickford (in the same way that Alisson was tackled earlier in the season at Leicester). So no assist.

Surely that was a Kane assist? it only touched Pickford before Son put it in the net.

Even as a Kane owner I dont think it should be an assist but this is the precedent they've set this year with some of the decisions.

Liverpool away to Leicester, Robertson crosses, Maguire clears it, Mane blocks the clearance and scores and they give an assist to Robbo using the intended recipient excuse.

Yes Kane intended it to reach Son, but without Pickford dropping that clanger Son wouldn't have had got to it, so it can't be a Kane assist? (Kane owner)

    1. Fpl Old Guard
      • 14 Years

You could say that about any touch that any defender every makes that goes through to an attacker to score wasn’t intended.....

But wasn't the Firmino assist not given last week because of a slight deflection? I'd argue Pickford seriously altered the path of the ball...

what are ppl doing with alonso? he is a 7mil waste and has beeb for a while. Thinking of swapping him out for digne as Everton has nice fixtures then using money to upgrade frazer to martial as man u fixtures/manager have improved.

Good moves or stick with alonso and frazer?
