The final match of Gameweek 23 takes place this afternoon at Craven Cottage, as Fulham face injury-hit Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off is at 16:00 GMT.

Spurs are, of course, without Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko, all of whom have played vital roles for the Lilywhites over the last couple of months.

Lucas Moura, meanwhile, isn’t fit to feature because of a knee injury.

Fernando Llorente is handed his first Premier League start of the season and only his second in a Spurs shirt, with Erik Lamela and Davinson Sanchez also given recalls as Mauricio Pochettino switches from a 4-4-2 diamond to what looks like a 3-4-2-1.

That system change would likely see Christian Eriksen – who was bought by over 100,000 FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 23 – drop back into a central midfield two alongside Harry Winks.

Danny Rose replaces Ben Davies on the left flank, meanwhile.

Claudio Ranieri’s only alteration sees Ryan Babel make his Fulham debut in place of Ryan Sessegnon.

As expected, Aboubakar Kamara isn’t involved in the Cottagers’ match-day squad after a reported training ground bust-up.

Spurs won the reverse fixture of this match 3-1 back in August, with Kieran Trippier the only one of the three Spurs goalscorers who lines up this afternoon.

Aleksandar Mitrovic was on target for Fulham at Wembley.

The Cottagers have conceded more goals, big chances and efforts on target than any other Premier League side in 2018/19 but Ranieri’s troops have only conceded four goals in their four most-recent top-flight fixtures at Craven Cottage.

Fulham XI (3-4-3): Rico, Odoi, Ream, Le Marchand, Christie, Seri, Chambers, Bryan, Babel, Schurrle, Mitrovic.

Spurs XI (3-4-2-1): Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Eriksen, Trippier, Dele, Lamela, Llorente.

After watching Sissoko,Alli, Lamela(many times) etc player's suffering muscle injuries, it makes me wonder if that is related to the fatigue OR pressing style of playing/ too much sometimes 😮

    Anyone thinks same ??

    1. Witty Pun: Not good at this…
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

It makes one wonder that they had 16 players at the world cup and were unlucky with injuries snowballing into one another.

      1. Amey
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

Every top team has player's with national duty.
It's not about number of injuries, it's about so many of them of similar
Agree with you about them unlucky though mate

    2. Boo Ya Ka Sha
      • 10 Years

Yeah, fatigue and perhaps lack of depth. Poch even said after the Wolves loss that fatigue played a big factor.

Maybe the fitness group in the staff played the wrong cards. But would we be thinking this if Kane's ankle wasn't smashed by Jones and Lucas' knee wasn't kicked? I don't think Lucas suffered a muscle injury, did he? Nowadays, agents protect their players quite a bit. You could say that some of these injuries could be exaggerated since the players/agents want to protect their banks/careers. Sir Alex said something about this shortly before retiring.

Looks like a green arrow despite No Mo. Chuffed with that.

Given the bench headache that many of us have for next week, are any Alli owners considering benching him?

For me, I don't have the cash to upgrade him, so I think waiting for 2FTs would be the best option, unless Son is coming home early. I have one of Digne or AWB to take his place from the bench anyway.

    1. Witty Pun: Not good at this…
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

Think Son will make the final or semis at least. SK look a class above everyone except Iran tbh.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

Yeah I would expect so too, but you never know! 😀 If they're knocked out in semis (would probably be by Australia, I think), then he would be back in GW25. If they're desperate, they could fly him straight back to the bench on GW24 even, but the semi final match is the day before haha

Eh, the Socceroos sadly do not look up to scratch for this tournament, although I hope they can grow into it. Son back soon would certainly be excellent news, for Spurs and me 🙂

You kept him on the bench? That was my plan, but then TAA injury came through and I felt I needed to sell one of them.

If Iran are the only ones who can beat Korea, then they'll meet in the final, unfortunately for us.
