Our second FFS Cup competition of the season reaches its climax this weekend.

Our final will be a battle between two managers who lurk just outside the top 1,000 in Fantasy Premier League.

Rotation’s Alter Ego and LOKOMOTIV both prevailed in their respective semi-finals to set up a showdown between the pair in Gameweek 37.

Losing semi-finalists Skogen89 and Ibra-gum will now contest the third-place play-off this weekend.

Rotation’s Alter Ego broke the 100-point barrier for the second Gameweek in a row and for the third time in five Gameweeks.

He was one of three semi-finalists – including opponent Skogen89 – to use the Triple Captain chip on Sadio Mane, who returned 13 points in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town on Friday.

Skogen89 was unfortunate to be eliminated as his score of 87 would have been enough to win the other semi-final.

LOKOMOTIV ran out the winner in that last-four encounter, with opponent Ibra-gum the only manager not to have their Triple Captain chip intact and indeed handing the armband to Son Heung-min, who blanked against West Ham.

The semi-final results were as follows:

NameScoreRankNameScoreRank
Skogen898719320vsRotation’s Alter Ego1031280
Ibra-gum61147195vsLOKOMOTIV841859

As of the Gameweek 36 deadline, LOKOMOTIV and Rotation’s Alter Ego shared only six players: Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min, Sadio Mane, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Raul Jimenez.

There is plenty of overlap in terms of team representation, though: LOKOMOTIV owns Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mathew Ryan, Yan Valery, Matt Doherty, Maya Yoshida and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg where Rotation’s Alter Ego has Andrew Robertson, Shane Duffy, Jan Bednarek, Willy Boly, Angus Gunn and Nathan Redmond.

Rotation’s Alter Ego’s main “differentials” are Wilfried Zaha, Diogo Jota and Aymeric Laporte, with LOKOMOTIV owning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Sead Kolasinac.

Neither manager has made any transfers yet (at the time of writing), nor do they have any chips remaining.

Ibra-gum and Skogen89 shared nine players in Gameweek 36 and again, neither manager has any chips remaining heading into their third-place play-off.

Mane to Sterling and Duffy to Shaw-4

Wouldn't be comfortable losing Mane as part of a hit but it could work out well

Don't quote me on that 😀 I have him too, from watching him play I think he's a better attacking threat than Llorente! But he's not so much a striker so I see him playing both games.

Sterling (LEI), Mane (new), Son (bou), Deulofeu (che), Hojbjerg (wha)
Aguero (LEI), Firmino (new), Jimenez (FUL)

Not sure what route to take with my final two transfers, considering Man Utd's unreliability & the poor fixture of Deulofeu. Would you go:

    A - Pogba for Son (37) & Rashford for Jimenez (38)
    B - Redmond for Deulofeu (37) & Rashford for Jimenez (38)
    C - Milivojevic/Martial for Deulofeu (38) & Long for Jimenez (38)

    Or Rashford could be Zaha.

Leading most of my ml, and the nearest rivals all have son and no Sterling.
I actually think Sterling will score more points these final gws.

Should I get Sterling in by:
    A) selling son (-4)
    B) straight swap for mane
    C) protect lead and stay with son

Could instead beef up my defence, or sell ings for rash?

    Lloris/Gunn
    Laporte/Robbo/Bednarek/Duffy/dunk
    Salah/mane/son/Jota/4.0

yeah, tempting to keep it until last game of season but his home form is pretty damn good. Cheeky TC on a Southampton player against Hud wk38 a risky possibility too.

yeah for sure, one needs to go and Eriksen is the fall guy.

Only reason i'm now warming up to Pogba is because it's basically two bites at the cherry against weaker than weak opposition. Hazard has Leicester last, and that could betesty. Plus Pog also on pens and nailed.

yeah, same here really, I have faith in Son himself, but if Spurs as a whole aren't working well then I'd rather have Pogba I think, rival has him and if he captains him and he gets a 15 and 11 in next 2 he could haul me in, whereas I don't think he would ever cap Son

people say the premier league is the best league in the world, but in what other league does a manager off a top club go almost 4 seasons without winning a major trophy and still stay in the job

Who to TC and when ?

Can we talk about PVA? I do like a good story between him and the relegated teams and so on. But the stats are not that exciting (compared to Doherty/Digne for example).
And he was recently benched in two matches that were difficult on paper (vs Watford in FA Cup; vs Arsenal). Now Cardiff and Bournemouth are not difficult on paper. But is there a risk?
    Thoughts?

For any player in any position I'd say the key is both potential AND nailedness at this point. Only a couple of chances for transfers to come off now.

I don't buy it. 5.5 feels too much for PvA at the moment, even if they have decent fixtures.

That’s what I was thinking. Like Digne too but GW 38 puts me off.

2FT, 0 ITB. TC to play.

    Lloris (Foster)
    Robertson, Doherty, Valery
    Mané, Eriksen, Son, Jota
    Aguero, Jimenez, Wilson
    (KDB*, Yoshida, Dunk)

KDB + Eriksen > Sterling + Redmond is the plan. Bench Redmond this week but play him for GW38.

    GTG?

Well covered. What's not covered is Hazard vs Watford and the whole Man United thing. But you can't have it all.

Yeah, thinking that top 10k ownership of Sterling will be too high for me to risk going without. If you could have a sixth midfielder or I had silly team value then would grab Pogba. But yep - can't have it all.

    Eriksen + Lukaku > Hazard(TC) + Rashford -4

As long as Rashford's passed fit, then sure. Too much to make back IMO if he's a gamble.

If rival has Eriksen and Son is it too risky for me to lose both for -4. Currently 43pts ahead still have TC advantage and looking at Hazard and probably Pogba in or just Hazard keep Son no -4

Got 2 FT with 0.0 itb

    Looking to shift Duffy, Eriksen.

    A) Duffy, Eriksen > TAA, Jota (this will also allow Redmond next week)
    B) Duffy, Eriksen > Shaw, Pogba (would mean playing Hojbjerg next week)

A looks safer, B *might* have a bigger potential upside. May depend whether you're chasing or consolidating.
