Fantasy Premier League has opened for 2019/20 and managers can now pick their first team for the new season.

Those hunting for a low ID should sign up as soon as possible.

With the release of the game also comes the remaining prices, which have been highly sought after this summer.

Over Wednesday and Thursday, we were given 10 by the Official FPL Twitter account.

On the first day, we got Lukasz Fabianski (£5.0m), Andrew Robertson (£7.0m), Matt Ritchie (£5.5m), Ryan Fraser (£7.5m) and Ricardo Pereira (£6.0m).

Then on Thursday, we were treated to confirmation of Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) as a midfielder, as well as Jack Grealish (£6.0m), Callum Wilson (£8.0m), Teemu Pukki (£6.5m) and a kindly-priced Raúl Jiménez (£7.5m).

Here is a break-down of the most expensive players in each position:

Most expensive GKs

  • Alisson – £6.0m
  • Ederson – £6.0m
  • David de Gea – £5.5m
  • Kepa Arrizabalaga – £5.5m
  • Hugo Lloris – £5.5m
  • Jordan Pickford – £5.5m

Alisson and Ederson are understandably the most expensive goalkeepers with £6.0m price tags.

Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) joins the premium category to deter any managers who were interested in using him to cover Everton’s early fixtures.

Below that is a difficult choice for Fantasy managers with Lukasz Fabianski, Ben Foster, Vicente Guaita and Rui Patricio all increased to £5.0m.

Returning to the £4.5m department are the Burnley goalkeepers Tom Heaton and Nick Pope who could offer something if we knew which of them was first-choice at this stage.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) is probably the most secure budget option at this point given the fixtures and uncertainty over shot-stoppers at Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Burnley, Sheffield United and Southampton.

Most expensive DEFs

  • Trent Alexander-Arnold – £7.0m
  • Andrew Robertson – £7.0m
  • Virgil van Dijk – £6.5m
  • Marcos Alonso – £6.5m
  • Aymeric Laporte – £6.5m

Perhaps one of the biggest reveals of the full game launch is the fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold has been handed the same price as Andrew Robertson.

That is probably good news for the latter, as a price-tag of £6.5m for his colleague would have effectively ruled him out as an option.

The fact that both Liverpool full-backs are £7.0m means that Fantasy managers will probably face a tough decision over which to own for Gameweek 1.

As the two players combine for a total of £14.0m, a double-up might not be to everybody’s tastes.

However, Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) coming in a £0.5m cheaper than both of them could help those looking to save some money.

Most expensive MIDs

  • Mohamed Salah – £12.5m
  • Raheem Sterling – £12.0m
  • Sadio Mané – £11.5m
  • Kevin de Bruyne – £9.5m
  • Leroy Sané – £9.5m
  • Son Heung-min – £9.5m

The key story here is that Sadio Mané will start the season at £11.5m, which is just £1.0m short of Mohamed Salah (£12.5m).

With the Egyptian dropping down £0.5m from £13.0m and Mané rising by £2.0m, the pendulum of Fantasy ownership will surely swing firmly in his direction.

In 2018/19, Mané did match Salah’s goal tally but he struggled to score away from home with much regularity.

He also failed to record a single assist at home.

The extra £1.0m for Salah in order to have a hand in Liverpool penalties, assists at Anfield and goals on the road, seems very worth paying at this stage.

The Egyptian’s biggest competitor for the 2019/20 season will probably be Raheem Sterling (£12.0m).

The fact that he has risen to £12.0m could make it harder to include both of them in Fantasy squads this year.

Most expensive FWDs

  • Sergio Aguero – £12.0m
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £11.0m
  • Harry Kane – £11.0m
  • Roberto Firmino – £9.5m
  • Gabriel Jesus – £9.5m
  • Alexandre Lacazette – £9.5m

Sergio Aguero (£12.0m) comes in as the most expensive forward in FPL this season.

However, the biggest story is a huge drop in price for Harry Kane (£11.0m).

That development will almost certainly see his popularity increase ahead of Gameweek 1, even if his initial fixtures are mixed.

Other Key Developments

Lucas Digne has been priced up at £6.0m, while Seamus Coleman is £5.5m. That could make for an interesting choice ahead of Gameweek 1.

Matt Doherty has been pushed all the way up to £6.0m and Jonny to £5.5m. Meanwhile, Rui Patrício is £5.0m. Covering the Wolves defence is going to be harder to do this season.

Liverpool defenders Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren have all come in at £5.5m. If one of those nails down a slot, they could be good value.

After a terrible 2018/19 campaign, Alexis Sánchez has been handed a £7.0m price tag.

The Chelsea attack has been very kindly priced in Eden Hazard’s absence. Olivier Giroud has come in at £7.0m while Pedro and Willian cost the same.

In either a 4231 or 443 I think both play.

Difference may be in the 433, Kante is at the base destroying attacks (instead of floating) and Jorginho creates (instead of doing both)

There seems to be three main options for goalkeepers

      1) 6m and 4m set and forget. Total = £10m and there is nothing “spare” OTB. This season it would be Ederson/Allison. Allison isn’t going to be picked given the certainty behind the Liverpool defenders.

      2) 2x4.5m rotating. Total = £9m. But £0.5m is definitely OTB.

      3) 5m + 4m set and forget. Total = £9m. Nothing spare on the bench. Will likely be Fabi/Foster this season with Pickford in the same 5.5m bracket as DDG and Lloris.

Do the best managers follow one of these options? Any thoughts?

It's a good question and I think it will change - to a point. Especially as I expect he will be a prolific scorer as Jesus is proving disappointing and Kun will get plenty gametime.

My guess is that many if not most people are looking to 3 Liverpool and 3 City assets. The costs add up there, and people find 3 more affordable choices in defence and midfield (if you include Sterling who's the same price as Aguero).

Just finished my first draft and finished with three City midfielders in my starting 11. KdB, BSilva and Sterling.

Mane and Salah are going to the African Cup of Nations and will come back tired, plus Liverpool's opening fixtures are great so gives scope to rest them.

Only other team with better fixtures is City, where all the value is in midfield.

    Thoughts?
