A number of newly-promoted players caught our attention in the opening weekend of Fantasy Premier League action.

Norwich City were thrashed 4-1 at Liverpool but still caused their illustrious hosts plenty of problems.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa proved a stiff test for Spurs on Saturday evening while Sheffield United were the first of last season’s promoted clubs to earn a point in 2019/20.

We’ve gone over the numbers to see which of their players could provide some value this season.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 campaign can access it in full.

    Last Man Standing has finally been updated with teams removed thanks to Ragabolly.

    3748 got through GW1 and another 235 new entries have qualified.
    Entry open to those with 66 or more.

      Hey, I'm new to the last man thing. Just to confirm, you literally remove teams from the ML that are below the minimum score needed that week? i.e if I log in and I'm still in the league, I could sing that Elton John song and not be a big fibber.

    Anyone else starting Pope (for save points) over Heaton (vs Wilson in my team) this weekend?

      Heaton is capable of save points too. The fact that you own Wilson doesn't make it any more or less likely that Wilson will score! I've never understood the logic of benching 1 of 2 guys that are playing each other... May as well play both, if one returns the other doesn't

          In these situations I like to go with high ceiling. Especially here you would not think benching 8m Wilson agains promotion team so thats easy. Next pick is gk. If I would choose gk against Wilson or other gk with probably slighly lower xPts I would go with the latter which is Pope. Much more fun watching also.

          I have both. Origi always nailed to start gw1 for me.

          More accurate to say he’s a gw1 punt. Actually his place in my team has created a right headache now because:

          None of the 7m options (my budget) started well
          If origi is on my bench he will outscore whoever I put in
          If I play him he will probably embarrass me

          All of the above said... if it hadn’t been Big Div it might have been Abraham so I’m very happy where we are.

        Not the same team but for me the benching decision is Perez (che) or Trossard (WHM).

        IF Trossard starts I expect him to score more points than Ayoze this GW.

                Palace don’t score loads but they score last better defences than SHU.

        Agreed, I started working out rival transfers a few seasons back. Had about 50% success rate. Upto around 80% when only one transfer made.

          None of the 6.5 attackers don't have great fixtures short term, but Pukki is probably the most fixture proof. Haller is also on my radar but he's injured now

            Leaning towards pukki.
            But here is the problem, king is the second best 6.5 forward imo so if he played well vs villa i would keep him as he has the best mid-term fixtures.
            Saving ft is very important too.
