Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

    Pope
    Ota, Tomori, Diop
    Son, Sterling, Mount, KDB
    Pukki, Aubameyang, Abraham

    Button, Cantwell, Lundstram, Soy.

    1FT

Don't see the point in transferring KDB - Cantwell at home to Villa is a good enough sub.

Dunno though. Whatever you do, just don't sell KDB. It's madness

I'm seriously considering captioning pukki this weekend over Salah. Am I crazy?
Thinking of his form at home and a final swansong before he gets flipped for Callum Wilson next game week

    Thoughts please?

First part isn't crazy as I have him VC atm, but I wouldn't put ahead of a City player.

If he scores a brace or hat trick and then you trade him, that would be a little crazy, but you probably need to be a littlle crazy at this game to rank high

Only have KDB and ota as city assets so that ain't happening. Thinking long term, Wilson could get over 200 points this year and for his price that is insane.
I doubt pukki will get that much and wilson has nice fixtures coming up, mind you, pukki's aren't awful either

I'm sure he got about 180 points last season from 30 games. This year he's got 46 in 7 so far and Bournemouth haven't been playing that great until recently. He could be a sleeper. Not as eye catching as vardy, auba, Kane or auba, but still gets points regularly with nor at home and Watford away as his first 2 games after ib

Anyone saw CHO play last night? 2 games and 2 assist as a sub. At 5.9m is he a differentia and bargain given Chelsea fixtures. Can’t imagine Frank not starting him with his pace and creativity. But with Pedro and Willian around... I guess rotation is always on the cards.

Giving serious thought to a -8 to get in Auba (would require KDB > Mahrez)

    2 options:
    Sterling, Mahrez, SON, MOUNT, Dendoncker
    Pukki, Aubameyang, Abraham
    (0.9 ITB)
    OR

    Sterling, Mahrez, SALAH, GUENDOUZI, Dendoncker
    Pukki, Aubameyang, Abraham
    (0 ITB)

If I ditched Salah, it would only be until GW 13 when the fixtures change. Ownership is the problem...

    Thoughts?

    1. Cahill17
      • 6 Years

I wouldn't take a -8 before an IB and even so would only consider dropping but KDB and Salah if I still had a WC. however out of the two options, option 1 looks better to me,

    Brain currently frying.
I usually jump straight into transfer(s) before games haven't even finished but this week so much to consider
    KDB injury
    Could Bilva get a ban?
Either or definitely both make Mahrez an option
Do I want Auba or Vardy or both.
Maybe Wilson including the Arsenal fixture actually has better short term fixtures and he is on form.
Do I want TAA before GW13
Who is the best cheap 6 mil mid to replace Mane if I ditch him. Hoping many don't look like price rises or falls so I got more time to think and will have more info.
But doing nothing feels like it will lead to a fail too.
Phew that's all for now 🙂

Still far more likely to score than Guendouzi, just as likely to assist, and probably just as unlikely to keep a clean sheet for 1pt. Not sure about Saka's attacking threat, but he's certainly nowhere near as nailed as McGinn who is central to everything that's good about Villa. His goals are no flukes - in fact he was very unlucky to have another chalked off at the weekend (offside assister) after a great finish.

ok lets talk about season keepers, these are the players that you wouldn't take out of your squad unless there was a "force majeure." For me, it is currently Button, Lundstram, TAA, Rico(!!!) and Cantwell.....interesting that these are mostly enablers except for TAA.....Mount isn't far behind as I got him for 6.0. What are yours?

And I suppose this brings me to my next point....what constitutes a "force majeure" when it comes to transferring out a potential season keeper? KDB would fit the bill.....what would it take for you to transfer him out if you see him as a season keeper due to VFM and value tied up?

I won't hold anyone even KDB no matter how much value has been gained if we know there are out for at less 3 GWs.
The problem with making this kind of a call is that there is often an information deficit.

For starters Mahrez would have to score +4 over your rubbish bench to justify the 4pt loss, which is no guarantee especially after Pep spins his roulette wheel. And that's before we even get to profit loss on KDB and use of a trade

    I can afford this team....too bad I don't have a wildcard! Also....injuries.....

    Pope
    TAA Robertson Soy Tomori Lundy
    Sterling KDB Mount Cantwell Guendouzi
    Aubameyang Vardy Abraham

Wish I could set and forget this squad.....(with a tiny bit of rotation :))))

Wouldn't own a liverpool double up with the incoming fixtures. They concede to much goals at the moment. After the City game it's a another story though

Prefer my team as of now:

      Pope Button
      TAA Tomori Soy Lundstram Kelly
      Sterling KDB Son Mount Hayden
      Aguero Tammy Pukki

I am thinking of bringing in Vardy and seems like the most sensible way for me is to do the following. Is this a good move?

    Pukki + Digne + Salah => Vardy + Tomori + Mane

    Current team:

    Pope
    Digne / TAA / Ota
    Salah / Mount / Sterling / KDB / Cantwell
    Pukki / Tammy

    Skeletenburg / Dunk / Lunds / Greenwood

I need to use a FT but I wouldnt have enough money to bring Vardy in if I sub out Dunk. Im thinking transferring Digne for Tomori first, then the other 2 moves next week.

2FTs and 0.0itb. Will wait for news on KDB.
Otherwise just thinking Button > McGovern. Anything else to consider?

    Pope
    TAA, Lundstram, Ota
    Salah, Sterling, Cantwell, Mount
    King, Pukki, Tammy
    Bench: Button; Lowton, Rico, KDB

Lowton to a nailed 4.4m defender if you don't want double Burnley

So glad I didn’t use my FT as yet. Best option here assuming both KDB and Cantwell are out

Best option here with 1.2m and 1ft?

    Heaton — Pope
Taa, Digne, Zincheko — Tomori Rico
KDB, Sterling, James, Cantwell — Docker
    Kane, Tammy, Pukki

    Ryan
    VVD - Robbo - Ota
    KDB - Salah - Cantwell - McGinn
    Abraham - Pukki - Haller

    Button - Digne - Ceballos - Lundstram

Thoughts on above? 2.2 ITB, 1FT. Had been thinking Ceballos -> Maddison for Leicester’s fixtures but he’s an injury doubt currently.

Should I drop Cantwell/McGinn to get Digne in?
