Why has Pukki’s FPL form dipped and should we sell him for Gameweek 9?

Fantasy Premier League managers have finally lost patience with Teemu Pukki (£7.1m).

Despite scoring 37 points in the first four Gameweeks of the campaign, the Norwich City striker has attacking returns in just one of his last five Premier League outings.

That has led to a significant drop in Pukki’s ownership ahead of Gameweek 9, 270,000+ managers selling him so far over the international break.

Not surprisingly, that makes the Finland international the most transferred-out player following Gameweek 8, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) sat behind him on 235,000+ sales.

However, 40.6% of Fantasy managers worldwide are still in possession of Pukki, while he was still the most popular forward in Gameweek 9 teams among the top 10,000 too.

With Norwich preparing for a trip to Bournemouth, who are not exactly famed for a solid defensive record, there will almost certainly be a large number of managers contemplating whether or not to give Pukki one more week.

We’ve taken a look at his underlying statistics over the first eight Gameweeks of the season to find out…

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

I talked about the quandary we face when Pool play Citeh GW12 and the probable lob sided teams we will have. With Arsenal and Leicester taking up room on the same GW it poses a problem. The following week the Chelski Citeh game creates yet another one.
I mention this as there should be an escape route to limit the damage. A high scoring game for them both could alleviate worries.
How are you guys going to maneuver around this schedule?

LEI vs ARS is actually a very good match for Leicester attackers.

Pool vs City could also be good for points unless it's a 1-1 (Rodri, Henderson) chances of which are very less. Can't sell the players of the 2 best teams just because they face each other.

A good bench will help you too.

I have covered what I think and you are right' it could be fine anyway. If the games are close then it could hurt considerably.

Not too worried about it, I haven't tripled up on any team and most of the top teams this season look defensively suspect anyway.

This is the way I have gone. I will not triple up at this point.

Cities defence isn’t great - I’m shifting double city attack to double pool attack for that game and until the new year

      Pool have a great run

No need to make drastic changes

Tbh, i will become a sheep for those gw's & follow what others are doing 😀
Not a good gw to take risk's IMO. Will keep all players & possibly bench Otamendi (if he stays in my team for that long)

Yeah. I think tripling up on Citeh Leicester Pool Chelski would not be wise though. Ota going for Tierney by that time too I think.

No triple ups & a good bench will serve you well.

since most of the active players will have players from these teams already why does it really matter? if its a low scoring gw that would not affect your rank.

How many days can I hold out before I have to do Pukki > Wilson?

I have exact funds to make the move, can afford one more Pukki drop.

not sure why people lose so much sleep over unexpected rises/non rises.

It's not the end of the world of course but was on a WC and thought I had a grip on risers and fallers. Might be one of those scenarios that forces you into a different player/structure and the team does better overall.

Could all be mitigated if KDB drops in price this IB but I doubt that will happen unless Pep says explicitly he won't play vs Palace.

They will do everything to get him on the pitch, looking at how they play with and without him this season.

It's a surprise since I had been holding off on sorting my WC. Just means I'll end up getting a different defender to make it work.

Pukki is going to fall, Tammy might see another rise and Rico is definitely going to rise. So the question is,

    Aurier + Pukki > Tammy + Rico (-4)

I will be priced out if any of the above happen.

I don't think Tammy will get a lot of international minutes but doesn't mean he won't get injured. Only you can decide if the risk of doing it early for hit is worth it.

So, I have 2 FTs but currently looking at burning a transfer for the first time ever....0.0 itb

    Pope Button
    Robertson TAA Otamendi Soyuncu Lundstram
    Salah Sterling KDB Mount Dendoncker
    Abraham Pukki Greenwood

    Reasons:
    1) Thought about Robertson/Dendoncker TO Maddison/Rico but now priced out
    2) Think double Pool defence could come back in fashion soon anyway
    3) 0.1 short of Dendoncker or Greenwood to a 4.5
    4) Could drop Pukki but don’t fancy that either
    5) Otamendi has 3 outstanding defensive fixtures next

Am I mad to let a transfer slide?
Can you see anything to do?

Anyways: Pukki, sell or keep? What's the conclusion?
