On WC, would you go If you already have Saiss and Jimenez.
    A) Jota (3-4-3)
    B) Doherty (4-4-2)

3 Wolves is too much for me. I know they have a good run of fixtures but... 1 def + 1 atack more than enough

      I’d go Jota

The deciding factor for me is price point - much prefer money in attack - plenty to switch to there.

Double Wolves defence is a bit of a gulp imo. Would Saiss feature regularly? If you go Jota who plays in defence.

Looking to roll the transfer to GW32+. I would have liked to have transferred Ings to Rashford but 0.1 short.

Anything pressing that needs to be done?

    1.8itb 1ft - WC and BB left
    Pope
    TAA Lascelles Saiss
    Salah Mane KDB Fernandes
    DCL Ings Jota
    (Ryan Traore Stephens Williams)

Home game (not that it matters when there's no fans) against a poor Arsenal defence, could be good option. Rashford and Abraham top of my list as replacements

No WC. Used BB for GW30+. No chips left

    Henderson (Nyland)
    TAA Doc Saiss (Lund Egan)
    Mane KDB Son Bruno Mahrez
    Jimenez DCL (Nketiah)

    0.3M ITB

Nyland comes in for the game Henderson will miss. The plan is to switch Mahrez to Martial this GW, then Egan to Wan-B next GW. Thoughts?

I would wait and see if Nyland plays in the second game and has another blunder. He might be dropped to Reina and you might have to prioritise that transfer

It has been a bitter disappointment for me how the change of rules have panned out. Using my WC on the last day before Covid was a sensible calculation for going forward. When multiple transfers were introduced, it negated my WC totally. I am more than likely to lose my mini league due to this.
I know there are many others like me who must take it on the chin and move forward, but the only reason I can think of FPL towers making such a decision was to keep the level of interest up in the game. I have no problem dealing with the rough and the smoothe but when there is no fair logical reason for doing so it irks me somewhat.

I'm in the same boat. Completely derailed me too. It's a mindless decision really, there was no need to do it as the fixtures stayed more or less the same.

I had used my WC so I was well stocked for the BGW. That all went out the window

Last day before covid was last year and there had been cancellations in Europe already when you activated your WC. Risk taken, result known.

      But better luck in future!

Shucks. Of course, I should have known.
I cannot see what changing the rules have to do with Covid. Why should I have calculated the rule change nobody could have known?

The BB team this week still have decent fixture except for a SHU defender which can be sorted out easily with a FT

So I've had a bit of a look at things for those wildcarding this week. I have looked at Fixtures, Motivation, Team (Quality), Squad Size.

Fixtures - based on independent season ticker.
Team - based on league table.
Motivation & Squad Size - my opinion.

    I've got 4 categories of teams that have came out (ordered best to worst based on all 4 factors);

    Priorities
Good teams, good fixtures and a lot to play for. You want to build your team around these.
    MUN
    ARS
    SPU
    WOL
    CHE

    Scrappers
A lot to play for, small squad size. Maybe one or two talismans from these guys or bench warmers.
    BHA
    WAT
    WHU
    BOU
    AVL

    The Giants
Exceptional quality but not much else. MCY above LIV due to fixtures. Maybe look to stalwarts in these teams Ederson, VVD etc. Or punt on someone, Foden, Minamino.
    MCY
    LIV

    The Wildcards
Good fixtures, decent teams and small squads but not a lot to play for. ATT if you're feeling punty or look well placed for a GK/DEF slot.

      A Foster
      B Dubravka
      C Pope
      D Hendo
      E Patrício

Actually a bit dubious about Pope and Burnley. Interested to see Watford.

(In my case I’ll be rotating anyway I may just stick with Hendo)

Here's my current w/c draft - would be interested in any comments (squad value 106.5, 0.3 ITB)

    Patricio, (Martin)
TAA, Doherty, Wan-Bissaka, Justin, (Jack Robinson)
    Salah, KDB, Son, Fernandes, Sarr
    Rashford, Jiminez, (Nketiah)

3-5-2 or 4-4-2 dependent upon fixtures

Looks good, very similar front 8 to the one I have posted below.
I made the Salah, TAA sacrifice to spread the money more evenly across my defence but I know that's not most people's preference,

Great minds think alike?! I'm trying to avoid too much selection angst re the defence, but could clearly bring in Justin or Robinson vs the default back 3, dependent upon the fixtures. I think Liverpool are after City's PL record, so expect TAA and Salah to continue going for it.

Latest news states the injury isn't as bad as previously thought.

I'd be tempted to go for either Lascelles or Taylor @ 4.3.
Newcastle and Burnley fixtures decent for majority of remaining fixtures.

Here we go with the WC team:

    Patricio, Nyland
    Alonso, Doherty, Digne, Maguire, PVA
    KDB, Son, Bruno, Richarlison, Sarr
    Rashford, Jimenez, Nketiah

Captain Son (WHU), Jimenez (avl) and KDB the rest of the games.
I like having a strong bench and the defence will rotate depending on the fixtures.
I'm assuming Liverpool will rotate more so their players may not be as crucial for the end of the season.

    Any opinions on this team?

Irrelevant for FPL decisions, but what would you do if you were Arteta for the trip to Brighton on Saturday. Would be great to try and get Saka and Martinelli partnered back up, while keeping Tierney in the lineup. Perhaps a midfield diamond with Ceballos and Ozil adding much needed creativity in the middle. Doubts are Sokratis, Torreira and Ozil.

    Leno
    Holding Sokratis
    Bellerin Torreira Tierney
    Ceballos Ozil Saka
    Aubameyang Martinelli

Or it probably makes sense to continue to drill the system in with a 4231 and keep rotating. The squad is fairly deep tbf, just lacking quality in defence.

    Leno
    Bellerin Holding Sokratis Tierney
    AMN Torreira
    Pepe Ozil Martinelli
    Lacazette

Doesn't look like Ozil is getting back in there. Nelson, Ceballos, Saka in midfield maybe?

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 7 days ago

I'm happy to see Nelson in the team, but I can't help but think it's unnecessary to throw him into too many starting XIs. He can make a good impact but there's already quality with prem experience this season in Pepe, Martinelli, Aubameyang and others if formation is changed up. Still looks good though 🙂

        Leno
        Bellerin Holding Sokratis Tierney
        AMN Torreira
        Nelson Ceballos Saka
        Lacazette

    3. Piggs Boson
      • 14 Years

I thought they looked good with Ozil as a false 9, and Auba and Pepe attacking from out wide. It meant Ozil didn't have to defend as much. Win-win.

So basically, Liverpool's 433. False 9, attacking fullbacks, reserved central midfield. Think that suits them perfectly.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        6 years, 7 days ago

I guess there's a lot of merit in having the right system and strategy, but it seems a shame to waste an attack slot on reserved midfield with the talent Arsenal have in that area . That said, maybe just get Ceballos in that midfield and it will be a nice balance.

        Leno
        Bellerin Holding Sokratis Tierney
        AMN Torreira Guendouzi
        Pepe Ozil Aubameyang

Looking back through their matches, it seems I dreamt that situation.

But similar to this shape in their 4-0 win: https://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/matches/1059952/

Nketiah plays much deeper than Ozil in pretty much every game.

Can't look past a back 4 (or even 5) for my free hit and possibly beyond.

Trent, Virg, Doherty, Maguire and keeping and eye on Justin for next time out.

Arsenal provide decent bench options for those formations with the likes of nketiah and Saka

Ok, small rejig at the back to get Doherty.
How’s it look? Alternatively I go with Maguire/AWB and a stronger bench/keeper? What do people think?

    McCathy (3.9m)
    TAA Doherty Fernandez (Cathcart Robinson)
    Mané Son KDB Sarr Fernandes
    Jimenez Rashford (Nketiah)

Cathcart to Simpson, McCarthy to Pope?

That makes the bench breathtakingly risky.

How about this? Dropping Robinson >> Simpson to save 0.1

          Pope (3.9m)
          TAA Doherty Lascelles (Cathcart Simpson)

Who is that? Yeah think Pope Or Foster are better picks actually

Pope. Didn't realise Mccarthy was so close to Pope price. Jabar is right, but Robinson still a better pick than Cathcart if you can be sure O'Connell stays out a while. Had a shaky start but played well yesterday, SU defence way better than Watford.

No. You're bench boosting McCarthy, Williams, your Tanga replacement and cantwell. It's not worth it for me.

Cantwell. Unfortunately Foden not nailed enough for a spot. Or get a fodder mid like Guendozi.

Surely Cantwell is worth the extra 0.5 over Guendoozi?

Fairly nailed, attacking player with reasonable chance of a return versus a guaranteed 2/3 points for Gdoozi.

Of course there’s a lot of football to be played so things can change quickly but how does this FH team look? 0ITB

    Dubravka

Everton fan spotted. If they lose the merseyside-derby there isn't much to play for is there? But if you don't believe in 'on the beach' it's fine. I actually really like your team for the differentials (Kane, Richarlison, Dubravka). Do you have anything on your bench?

Eeekkkk. I’m a chelsea fan. How embarrassing...

Guendouzi on the bench, all the others don’t play

People who still have FH left, when are you looking to use it? GW34 looks like a good time maybe looking at the fixtures

      GW38 unless anything wild happens.

I was going to leave it indefinitely, thinking final gameweek maybe. Then I looked at my WC draft players' fixtures and GW38+ does look like the hardest round of fixtures, which really had me thinking that could be the best time to use FH.

38+ for sure - it will be 100% clear who is playing for their lives on that match day, and build a FH team around them

Hi guys, on FH - no chips left. Which do you prefer please? Suggestions greatly appreciated...

    A) VVD, Kane (433) (Cantwell, Saka)
    B) Mane, DCL (343) (Guendouzi, Simpson)

    Rest of Team:

    Pope
    TAA, Aurier, Doherty, ?
    Salah, Son, Fernandes, ?
    Vardy, Jota, ?

    (Button, Lascelles, ?, ?)

    Cheers!
