Hmm, starting to think Martial(C) over Bruno(C)...

Players to have scored more than 2 goals against Southampton this season:

    Raúl Jiménez..........3
    Vardy.......................3
    Barnes (Ashley)......2
    Haller.......................2
    Lacazette................2

    Ayoze Pérez...........3
    Richarlison..............2
    Salah.......................2

Pretty much all forwards. Do you think Southampton's high press favours the forwards in the opposition team more than a midfielder? Forwards are more likely to involved in a counter attack than a midfielder.

It also suggests, mercurial Salah aside, that they mainly ger caught out by mid-tier teams and perhaps park the bus against the likes of City and United.

Interesting. That could be perfect for martial. Plus I saw something about his home stats?

    Thoughts on this lot?

    Pope (McCarthy)
    Alexander-Arnold, Maguire, Doherty (Egan) (Taylor)
De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Fernandes, Sarr*
    Rashford, Jiménez* (Connolly*)

1 FT, 7.5m in the bank, still have BB to probably be used in 37.

    * players are probably gone by 37
    Ings probably in for 36

    a) City mid to Sterling
    b) Any mid to Salah/Mane
    c) Jim/Connolly to Vardy
    d) something else.

    Cheers.

Same, I'm leaning towards Salah at the moment because I'm chasing. He is definitely fired up, however, without Hendo I think Liverpool might find scoring against Burnley a lot tougher. I would have gone Vardy for this reason but I have myself not seen him play so I'm skeptical :/

I think it'll take a brave man to captain anyone else but Bruno this week. He'll be hugley captained, it'll really hurt if he goes mad and you haven't captained him

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I captained Salah last week. Was a huge risk, but paid off greatly (for the first time). Was chasing and closed down the gap by about 30 points. Last four weeks, if you're just inside 100k I think you should take risks and try and finish as high up as possible. Otherwise 100k or 150k doesn't make much of a difference imo

        1. space mercenary
          • 6 Years

Agreed. I have been taking risks since the restart but cant quite get clear of the 200k. Largely thanks to Jesus, Son and Kane.

Keep at it, I think in the last part, unless you're top of your MLs or inside 50k, risks are essential. At the moment, not captaining the 'safer' bets (Bruno this week) is a risk in itself

  18. Art Vandelay

Good morning all and thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Given the benching risks hanging over several players (the likes of KDB, Salah, Foden and TAA for me) is it worth taking a hit to do Connolly to Greenwood? The problem then becomes who to bench for Greenwood given the likelihood that most who are benched will get 20+ mins.

    a) Stick with this lot and pray for a benevolent Klopp and Pep
    b) Conolly to Greenwood and start Greenwood for Foden.

    Martinez
    TAA Aurier Doherty
    KDB Bruno(c) Pulisic Salah Foden
    Rashford Vardy

    Lascelles Connolly Simpson

Similar to mine, Jesus to Connolly and sterling as 5th mid instead.

I went schmeichel and walker instead of Ederson and Doherty

I think sterling is really key on a free hit, can you squeeze him in?
