We at Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ll be renewing our partnership with FanTeam for the 2020/21 season.

FanTeam is Europe’s biggest daily Fantasy sports platform and they offer the chance for Fantasy managers to earn cash from their expertise.

With Fantasy games in hockey, basketball, baseball and MMA – among others – covered, there’s plenty of money-making opportunities for those in the know.

Fantasy Football is what many of us love, of course, and while we twiddle our thumbs waiting for Fantasy Premier League, Sky Fantasy Football and the like to relaunch, there is profit to be made with FanTeam.

There’s a share of €25k to be won in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final between Manchester City and Lyon, while there’s €15k on offer in the UEFA Europa League semi-final clash between Manchester United and Sevilla.

And there’s one FanTeam game in particular that is really catching our eye…

Next season, FanTeam are offering a staggering prize pool of €1,000,000 for their season-long Premier League Fantasy game, with €200,000 going to the winner.

There are prizes all the way down to 5,659th place, with those finishing 51st or above raking in at least €1,000.

Entries cost just €25, a sum that many of us will readily fork out in our Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues.

Even better: the game rules and scoring system are very similar to FPL, so skills – and teams – are easily transferred from one game to the other.

We’ll be back over the coming weeks with a series of articles on FanTeam’s million-euro cash game, delving deeper into the rules, player prices, fixture list and strategy.

Until then, head over to FanTeam and start tinkering with your team. As is the case in FPL, unlimited transfers are allowed before Gameweek 1 and the player prices don’t change until the season is underway.

If Chelsea can secure this bloke, they would have an attack capable of pushing for the title. I wouldn't miss out on him either in FPL.

They'd just be without a defense capable of pushing for the title.

      It couldn’t happen again, surely?

The season is set to start on 12/9 but do you think 1 of gw1's fixtures could be moved to 11/9?
(Planning September's work schedule & trying to make sure I won't be working on or close to the deadline)

I'd say it's more than probable. If crowds can't attend, they'll have as many matches shown on live TV as possible. Expect the Liverpool game for the Friday evening.

I wonder if all games will be televised live due to the continued absence of fans. I don't see why not when the whole reason for not doing it is supposed to support lower league sides who can't draw the necessary crowds.

But I don't have any confidence that this is here to stay for more than a couple of weeks. There's no particular reason though to expect COVID in the UK to operate any differently than other countries opening up. I'm very gloomy about this autumn and winter.

I'm seeing far too much whining about prices so I'm reposting this:

If strikers start scoring 30 a season again their prices will go up. I like how the game tracks these performances. There's still gonna be choices either way. Nobody is having KDB, Salah, Sterling in the same team anymore. I find it weird that people complain about the pricing. It's a game. The challenge is fitting the best players into your budget. The prices match the players perfectly for me so far. You're always going to displease some people, but those people are brats. It's a free game. You pay nothing. And it gives you so much joy when you're doing well. Just adjust to the changes and stop being so critical.

    Mane's price is annoying.

Priced him out so now most teams will have 2 Pool defenders.

Doubt 11.5 would have made him affordable.

Depends on fixtures really, if it's bunch of easy games, then I would still prefer Salah-Mane double over double defense.

I suspect that most/many teams wilL start with Mo Mane just because of price points and the almost certain blanks in 1. Much the simplest way to bring in KdB/Sterling after all. That makes double defence a transfer away

If Mane produces early and Mo doesn’t. Easily foreseeable then conversations start again. Mane matched Mo for price last season at times for a good reason - he was an equally good pick.

Agree. Appeal for me was as a 0.5 / 1m saving on Salah

    4. Fit of Pique
      • 11 Years

The nice thing about Salah and Mane at 12m each is there's a 2m saving if swapping to KDB and Fernandes

Enough to upgrade a cheaper defender to a 2nd Liverpool defender when the time comes

      1. Fit of Pique
        • 11 Years
        6 years, 11 days ago

But if you think about it

        Salah + Mane + 4.5
        Vs
        KDB + Fernandes + VVD

Longer term it's clear where the value is

Does this make Salah and Mane less viable ?

Mo and Mane also have a record of effectively never hauling simultaneously - stretching back over two seasons now, Get them both and you have a good chance of one haul but you're also accepting the strong probability that one premium will be poor value.

Looked at from a single gameweek point of view you've got a better chance of maximal returns if you choose one not both. And if you chop and change then you're gambling on choosing the right one since their record of double digits in the last 2 seasons is extremely similar. On that model your'e also spending 4 points on transfers too.

Had them both simultaneously for a stretch last season - the record would need to change for me to go back there.

Why do you think they never haul together, apart from the fact that they haven’t happened to do so regularly?

Just wondering if there’s any particular reasoning behind it, or whether it could just be happenstance

            1. Moderately content penguin

It seems very bizarre. But I suppose that neither has an assist record to speak of might be relevant - goal and an assist as a mid equates a haul, but that is perhaps less common for both of them as they rely heavily on goals

    5. Pinturicchio10
      6 years, 11 days ago

Looks like there will be massive points up for grabs from City, United, Chelsea this year and the odd Spurs or Arsenal game. A Liverpool defensive perma triple up isn't out of the question at all imo. Its gonna be a great season with plenty of variation in squad setup and player selection.

City and Pool points will be above the rest

        1. Pinturicchio10
          6 years, 11 days ago

More than likely yes. I'm not saying it's the only strategy, or even the best one, but with so many players to choose from its certainly an option. Count attacking returns + cs over the whole season for their big 3 defenders. Its outstanding. Slightly cheaper, high output attackers (in comparison to Salah / Mane that is) backedbip by those three could very well work wonders. It's an option.

          1. Pinturicchio10
            6 years, 11 days ago

And how Aubameyang as a mid? The plot thickens. Salah / Mane no longer essential. Theres mountains pinpoints to be gained elsewhere.

My concern with the Liverpool defense triple up is not so much about losing 3 clean sheets with one goal. It's the scenario where one injury could cause you two transfers.

If your premium midfielder (let's say KDB) gets injured, it's likely you'll want to consider bringing Salah or Mane in.

And if one of your Liverpool defenders gets injured, you're likely going to want to use that other Liverpool slot too. So for me it might be too inflexible

        1. Moderately content penguin

Actually no. If VvD picks up an injury you have cs problem with TAA and Robbo. If Salah is injured, Mane performs better. Easy switch.

            You're right.

But do you think the risk is increased when you triple up income position?

Because if one gets injured, there are less straight swaps e.g. if Robertson got injured and you already have TAA and VVD

But if you had say Salah, Mane and

            1. Moderately content penguin

Yet to see defensive prices but Doherty and Laporte have solid if different credentials at the back for premium replacements.

Mo and Mane are in a way trickier to replace theoretically as they are top end in price scale. Easier to downgrade than upgrade, But I can't see those price differentials remaining static in midfield.

      Like Pingis says,

I’ll probably start both and swap none, one or both of them to the likes of KDB, Sterling and/or Bruno come GW3.

The great thing is, that you’ll have both if both hits the ground running, and you might opt not to transfer in KDB and Sterling until they show form. If both is poor chances are Pool is poor, and you might not lose that much do to everybody owning pool assets. If one is poor and the other is on fire, then it’s an easy swap out

        Good point.

This is increasingly how I'm trying to think about the game - not just about potential points, but "what if?" scenarios

With a view to managing risk and reducing avoidable transfers

    7. Moderately content penguin

Another point to consider here is the likelihood is we'll see some fairly major price readjustments at the premium level when the United and City players become available. Unless of course FPL play games with us again

No one will have City and United in week 1 and it's foreseeable their prices will shoot up. If I'm right and Mane proves very popular in week 1 solely as a placeholder then his price may readjust down.

You can always keep money itb though.
Once the season gets underway (both Mancunian sides come back) & Pulisc gets fit I'm looking forward to KDB Bruno Pulisc as Midfield core.
If no Sancho throw in Greenwood too ....

Hopefully Adams nails his place for Southampton & comes at less than 6 now. He's a great option then.

I'm looking at something along those lines - but more 4-4-2 than 4-5-1

Wary of newbies but Havertz if he happens may get a run for me early on as Pulisic placeholder.

Suspect I'll leave more money up front than you. Thinking TAA Doherty and Vardy Ings as likely core selections. There'll be plenty around the Vardy price to switch into and downgrades from Ings if great value appears.

        1. Amey

          I love Vardy.

Although I'm not sure i can afford him after KDB Bruno & Pulisc.

Ings will be too expensive for his returns is what i think & will stay on that. 🙂

Beautiful thing about Vardy is Martial Kane Werner will all be around him. Can be swapped easily !

If i look at Vardy will need to start with someone like Soucek in starting 11 & rotating him with a 4.5m defender i guess

Think this works roughly - it's the outline I'm working from. Ings could be better placed as Greenwood in midfield perhaps.

            4.5 4.0 = 8.5
            TAA Doherty 4.5 4.5 4.5 = 27.5
            KdB Bruno Pulisic Soucek 4.5 = 40

Pulisic took 6 months to nail down starting spot.

Simplest difference i see for striker's taking more time is physicality of CB's in PL.

          Almost bullies 😀

Werner is not as big as I thought ...... mmm, pauses for thought. Yeah, when I think of some of the CB's in the 70s they were big ugly ******** 😀

Werner is pacy and likes space to run into. Don't think Chelsea will play counter attack vs the likes of Burnley. Not saying that he will flop, just that there is an uncertainty still

Agreed. If it were a direct link, like a league in itself run through FPL I would consider it.

Very good and it was even better seeing a team putting Barcelona to the sword. They’ll need to spend now to fix that team

Their transfers have been massive letdown too recently.

It is the old guard not letting go. Greizman Coutinho dembele don't all become bad players over night.

                Coutinho not even at club.
                Dembele is constantly injured.

They used too much cash on these 3 but didn't get the impact They'd have hope they would

I like it, I don’t think I will go with anything above Werner in price for a striker this season so I agree the majority of the money should be in midfield. Wait and see other pricing’s with auba being potentially priced as a mid if rumours are true

Why doesn't fpl just make it pay to play and give out prize money?
Even at a quid a go it's £7,000,000 up for grabs!
Enough of a headache playing for mini leagues and world rank, playing this fan team as well? with different points system and rules? nah, I don't think I could take the messing about.
    Too much.
Just make it so i can enter my fpl team with exactly the same scoring etc. and it would be cool.

They’d lose 90% of their user base overnight (its not the £1, it’s the collection of payment details)

Nothing in it at all for FPL to charge users.

    Not feeling the Pulisic love.

8.5m is a tempting price for sure, and less than I expected.

But his injury record is worrying and his scoring felt streaky. Has the touch of the Hazard about him in those respects

I'm hoping I can avoid him as I don't think he'll be easy / enjoyable to own.

I doubt he'll be in my team either tbh.

8.5 is a difficult price point given that many will have have Mane/Salah, Sterling/KDB & Fernandes as their premium mids.

Having an 8.5 4th mid in addition to those 3 will be too costly imho.
