Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12.0m) will be a midfielder in Fantasy Premier League next season following the game’s relaunch.

The move comes about following Aubameyang’s half-season spell on the left flank, with Mikel Arteta’s appointment as Arsenal manager in December signalling a change of role for the Gabon international in the Gunners’ attack.

The reclassification further swells the premium options available to us in the middle of the park, with Marcus Rashford (£9.5m) also making the move to ‘FPL midfielder’ and Kevin De Bruyne (£11.5m) and Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) rising considerably in price.

How does Aubameyang compare with the other heavy hitters after his positional switch, then?

Our Members article below delves into the data.

    Amey if you're still around...

    4.5 | 4
    TAA | VVD | Robertson | Doherty | Vinagre
    Auba | Sterling | KDB | Soucek
    Mitro

    4 - Romeu - Vassi - Davis

    .5 ITB

The current trend is to hop skotch from one player to another... I'm useless at it. I think you have to find a team you keep your nerve with and show tantric patience.

Not for me, you'll be left behind by the more popular picks a lot of weeks and I'll don't think you'll cover those points in the weeks where your differentials do well. There's a few who will face a fair bit of rotation too (Kun, Ake, Jota)

Our job is to gobble up the value players, if not we get left behind. Poor pricing is annoying, eg Firmino 2m more than TAA who got 55 more points. Bobby should be priced like Bamford!

It doesn't make sense. KdB is clearly underpriced. And his 60%+ ownership is proof of that. Same with TAA and his monstrous 56% ownership.

Agreement between #Liverpool and #Alcantara. Liverpool and the player have reached an agreement over 4 years. The player even announced his departure to England to some of his teammates. Alcantara already found his house. Liverpool and #Bayern must finalize the deal. #RMCsport

I’m sure it would work fine, but it’s not like Hendo and Wijnaldum are suddenly going to be benched, so Keita (which was a punt I was considering) would be even less likely to get enough game time to compete with other 5.5 options

Haven't checked but my memory was that KdB was comparatively fixture neutral as a captain - ie he returned against Liverpool and not Brighton - whereas Sterling returned hauls in a slightly more predictable way in prime fixtures.

If so in a prime fixture I'd prefer Sterling but if it was fairly neutral and a matter of rotating captains with Bruno say I'd more likely go KdB.

Mean to look at patterns of returns last season.

        1. altan8797
          • 9 Years
          6 years, 14 days ago

fair point. I also think that kdb is more likely to get at least an assist in 3 out of 4 fixtures so leaving him captan the whole season could also work, but it means missing hauls from likes of auba, salah or sterling.

            • 7 Years

Difference with KdB this time is that he'll be an easy switch in and out and there's less likelihood that he'll accumulate too much value to sell and buy back.

    4.5
    TAA Vinagre Taylor
    Salah KDB Sterling Ziyech Armstrong
    Antonio Wood

    (4.0 KWP 4.0 4.5)
    0.5m

    Depending on fixtures:
    Armstrong can be Soucek/ASM
    Sterling can be Auba/Bruno
    Ziyech can be Pulisic/Greenwood
    Mitro/Adams also look decent alternatives

But ideally I would like another premium defender in there if one of Pool/City/Wolves have an amazing run of fixtures.

Theoretically a really good team imo

Guess you're left between choosing between Wood and another premium at the back. Ziyech could go too but harder to switch the money into midfield once you need GW/Puli

I currently have somewhat similar but who knows until fixtures come out:

      Ryan - Martinez
      TAA - Vinagre - Taylor - Egan - Fergusen
      Salah - KDB - Auba - Greenwood - Soucek
      Antonio - Wood (Davis)

    1. LW when the season starts
    2. CF after that

could play off giroud if pulisic isnt fit. I think CF is more likely. Either way he will be nailed

I think he plays upfront from the start, Giroud i feel is off and Tammy was never going to be Chelsea’s no9 long term

Mad how people are writing off strikers. The fact not a single one costs more than 10.5 mil is awesome. Yes midfielders get 1 more point for a goal (and another for a CS) but strikers get more bonus per goal. Kinda balances it out esp with the price points.

Kane and Werner will have 200 point seasons imo. Kane finished the season strongly and because of the short turnaround i see him motivated and firing from the start.

      It doesn't balance out.

Strikers get around 20 points less than their mid counterparts. But I do think there is value at the forward position this year.

It's quite possible Kane and Werner will have 200 point seasons.

Problem is, it's also likely that several defenders will get 170-180 points at a fraction of the cost.

Additionally, you'll rarely ever captain your forwards if you own Salah, KDB, Bruno, etc which makes them poor value.

Does the fact every man and his dog will have KdB make a Sterling/Aguero double up with him even more attractive?

E.g you can look at it that Sterling/Aguero then become your only City attack, it’s what’s making me lean towards Sterling + 0.5m over Auba atm.

        Mahrez is an interesting one

He was in no one's team early last season but ended up scoring really well. 8th best on season value this time too. Priced very kindly

If Koucek is a 5th mid then there could be room for Mahrez to put in guest appearances. Not so very expensive that a benching is a disaster

Looks like they’re swerving Salah & Auba for the value of KDB & Bruno 🙁

last year at various times i had either doherty or traore ,but whilst either of them are ok my eyes tell me they just get in each others way definetely hindering their output ,i am now inclined to not have either of them and go with jimi who will inevitably be on the end of their contributions ,with no europa and pennos jiminez could even be a golden boot shout he was touted for a big club move earlier in the summer ,i believe he may not have had his best year yet ,....
