Harry Kane‘s (£10.5m) end to the 2019/20 season suggests he could be the key asset for those looking to tap into Spurs’ appealing fixtures this time around.

Jose Mourinho’s men sit second on the Season Ticker for attacking potential over the first six Gameweeks, based on their opponents.

During this period they host Everton, Newcastle and West Ham while they’re road trips take them to Southampton, Manchester United and Burnley.

Spurs players had not appeared in too many Fantasy Premier League drafts before Thursday’s fixture release, but now that we know the schedules, Mourinho’s charges have become more popular.

As Fantasy managers search for the best way to invest in Spurs’ attack, Son Heung-min (£9.0m) and Kane are the front-runners, currently sat in 18% and 14.5% of squads respectively.

Ahead of the new season, we have compared how these two attackers performed during Project Restart. As this uses Opta data, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription can access it in full.

What were Son and Kane’s average positions?

    McCarthy 4
    TAA Davies Saliba Vinagre _____
    Salah KdB Greenwood Soucek 4.5

    A) Gomez and fodder
    B) Mitrovic and fodder

A feels like better value, B feels like better structure.

Let's say Pulisic is declared available for a start Gw1.

Would you change your draft to get him in? What would it change?

Would probably get rid of Ziyech, I already have one player that needs to adapt in Werner, avoids me having two.

you also have to factor in the strikers in the same 8.5-9.5 bracket. its not an easy call between

Jimi, Ings, Martial, Werner, Rashford, Son, Pulisic

but he is an option for sure.

      Fair call

Looking right now at a similar strategy with different attack. Also thinking that United defence might be very good value too - they matched attack for value (not points) at end of last season and haven't received any price increase.

    Thoughts?

    McCarthy, 4.0

    TAA, Vinagre, Saliba, Ferguson, 4.0

    Salah, Auba, Son, ASM, Soucek

    Werner, Mitro, DCL

1.0 itb to fund KDB/Bruno moves.

Good luck to everyone this season!

Any particular reason to think United attack will perform better than United defence in the new season. Post Bruno the defensive figures took off as much as the attacking ones.

AWB/Maguire/Shaw would get premium equalling returns at discounts if that form continued. Eg AWB got 75 points in 14 game weeks. That matches VVD at his best really. The attackers have all received price bumps - the defence not and short term anyway there are options for most very United attacker.

Thought is that benching a United defender in week 1 is fairly straightforward.

Have a blind spot with AWB - got him twice last season and then watched him and thought "oh no". Those returns did keep rolling at season end though. Nothing in it. Will probably go AWB

I went Maguie and enviously looked over at AWB's bonus point scores and occasional assists waiting for that headed goal... would prob go AWB next time.

Their defense is a joke With Lindelol and slabhead, and they basically have no decent holding midfielder Ahead of them either so the backline is constantly under pressure. Waste of defender slot imo

    McCarthy
    TAA, Justin, Saliba, Vinagre
    Aubameyang, Salah, ASM, Soucek
    Kane, Werner

    Button; Greenwood, Brewster, Ferguson.

Settled on this for now. Have a feeling I'm going to have to revisit my 4.5 defenders due to uncertainty over Saliba and Vinagre starting. Son and Ziyech are tempting alternatives to Kane and Werner but my gut feeling is that the two strikers will be worth the extra outlay. If Brewster doesn't get a PL loan move I'll switch to Davis. Greenwood on the bench will hopefully allow me to save a transfer in GW2 which I quite like in theory.

First GW he plays one of the worst sides for conceding headed attempts post lockdown (only Norwich, Burnley and Spurs were worse) and he sits top of headed goal attempts since lock down.

I don't even think their fixtures are THAT bad.

      NEW - great fixture
ars - they've improved under Arteta but still very capable of conceding
WOL - tough but could still get something
lei - were poor defensively post lockdown and have injuries at the back
      tot - okay fixture

    Mccarthy (4)

Think I'm sorted for now with 1.5itb for movements:

    Lloris (4.0)
TAA - Vinagre - KWP - Saliba (Ferguson)
Salah - Auba - Son - Armstrong (Smallbone)
    Kane - Mitro (4.5)

    - Next week no FT.
    - Week after is Auba and Son > KdB and Fernandes (could bring in Fernandes 1gw earlier if Auba is dropping and Fernandes is rising).
    - The next week either no FT or pick up any player on fire.
    - Otherwise week after is potentially Kane > Aguero/Werner/Jimenez.

I wouldn't lock out a potentially Southampton third option with Smallbone, would find another 4.5 mid

agree. Smallbone may not even be on the bench.

          Gunn | Salisu | LB/RB(Transfer) | Romeu | Djenepo | Long | Obafemi/Transfer is how I see it.

Dropping Kane before West Ham (H), Burnley (A), Brighton (H), West Brom (A)? I'd rather have Werner before then and move up when the time is right.

Like the Lloris pick, defense looks fine too if Saliba is starting. Overall very decent.

Excellent, thanks. It's the foundation I'm after I suppose. The minute a player I don't have pops in two goals in GW1 is an example of how it'll all crumble in a heartbeat! It'll be fluid, if Werner and Kane are finding the net then I'll adapt and find a way to get them both 🙂 thanks!

    A) All in team for GW1 then Wlidcard GW2
    B) All in team GW1 then hits to -12 GW2.
    C) Team set for around 6 weeks and take the "pain" of GW1,then see where we are.

      D) Have 1 United or City on the bench, plan to get a second GW2.

Personally, I’m thinking about taking a -4 in week 2, both transfers going to Man United assets. They have CP followed by Brighton. Man City have Wolves followed by Leicester, which seem harder fixtures. With that, I think you start bringing in City for week 3.

I may also consider staring with Greenwood and just play a bench player in Week 1.

    Thoughts?

    Lloris (Peacock-Farrell)

    VVD - TAA - Doherty - Vinagre - Davies

Salah - Auba - Ziyech (Gordon, Bissouma)

    Werner - Mitrovic (Vassilev)

Way too expensive on defense and awful bench.

At least spare 0.5m for Soucek over Gordon/Bissouma.

I really don't like going heavy defense early on in a season because this is a period to get the best value players in the game up front and in midfield. You need money there. Only later on when you hit your first WC is it a good time to settle down onto a premium defense strategy once you have picked out the new Charlie Adam's, Michu's and the sort.

Fair points, thank you. Can you expand more on "I really don't like going heavy defense early on in a season because this is a period to get the best value players in the game up front and in midfield." please?

Looks good, I’d have Egan over bavies, still be quids in with Lloris if spurs keep a CS

Little bit of a different RMT - thinking here is Open to a WC in gw 3 or plenty of room to do it with FT if some of these players start well - can pretty much lock that defence in then have option of either

Lo celso looks nailed for spurs and an easy switch to greenwood if need be

    Mcarthy
    Tierny,vvd,taa,vinegar or Justin
    Lo celso,ziyech,Auba,salah
    Ings Antonio

    4.0,4.5,4.5

    McCarthy

    Alexander-Arnold Vinagre Tierney

    Soucek Aubameyang Salah Greenw

    Werner Mitro Ings

    Button Stevens Walker-Peters Justin

Scope for plenty of future tx available:
Aub / Salah > KDB / Sterling / Fernandes etc
Werner / Ings > Martial / Jimi etc

Got a spare 1.5m and dunno what to do with it.

    A) Mitrovic (Fulham) - he is the main man (50% goal involvement), and a stats machine with terrible finishing. has pens.
    B) Pereira (West Brom) - looks a real quality player and west brom have brilliant fixtures. unproven, but potentially could be the early bandwagon.
    C) Gomez (Liverpool) - last season he had 28 league apperances to Lovrens 10 and Matips 9. Some of those are subs. Lovren has gone, its his place to lose now? Phenomenal value at 5.5 if he keeps the place - will outscore every striker/mid at the same price point.

Always an attacker for speculative pick. Gives you better options to jump ship to another emerging wagon and to build team value.

Mitrovic looks safest. Pereira has decent fixtures actually so he could be good.

Of the 3, I would probably go for the boring A. Tried and tested in the PL, on penalties etc.

Going B is the flair move, and if your squad has no other PL newcomers I would be tempted. That said, I am not sure where these so-called brilliant fixtures are - are you trying to convince yourself?!
