Should we sell or hold Timo Werner ahead of FPL Gameweek 4 and who are the best replacements?

It is fair to say that Timo Werner (£9.4m) has not started life in the Premier League as Fantasy managers had hoped he would.

Chelsea have scored six in their first three matches but their new forward has managed just one assist in that run.

So the question is: Is it time we looked to replace Werner? And if so who for? In this article I want to talk about the possible options.

        I’ve actually still got Son but that’s my planned FT

        I want a placeholder around that price for a Pulisic and I think Mahrez should be nailed short term given injury issues at city.

        Plus there are no good sub £9m options - Mahrez is better than Foden, I’ve got no interest in Barnes and Zaha plays for palace

      With this bench I d take a hit for Podence if news are not too confident. Davies will start some games, Reg played yesterday so wouldn’t take a hit this GW to drop him unless you have cash for a Liv defender

        I’m at the point where I can’t bring myself to get rid as too many FT’s to restructure so they stay until I Wildcard

        I’m about 1m OR despite having them as my strikers for a total of 0 goals so far this season while every other viable striker option has 4+ goals.

        Logic would say that class players like Werner and Martial will start scoring and lesser players like Mitrovic, Bamford, DCL etc would start blanking...

        .... but it’s not been a season for logic so far!!

    Thinking Son + Werner + Kane > KDB + Jiménez + Ings for -4 is the best next move.

    Would prefer not to take a hit but wouldn't be able to afford either of Jiménez or Ings without doing both.

        Toyed with Son to Mahrez, but feel like need to have one of KDB/Sterling and now seems the best time to do it.

      I like that hit a lot, although decided to keep Kane myself since Spurs have to score some goals and he takes part in all of them so far. I d say go for it, you may captain one of the players you bring in so you can cover the 4 pts easily.

      Werner 1st goal could come good with 2 plumb fixtures next. Im thinking I might hold Son, only looks like missing Utd away so can suck that up with a bench this week. Feels like he could be a season keeper and Spurs fixtures still decent after this week

    Three interesting matches today.

    City vs Burnley - I back Guardiola to find a solution to his striker crisis, it'll be very interesting to see the tactics he'll look to deploy. If Delap plays well against PL opposition, he could be in for a start on the weekend. Another runout for the 4-2-3-1 would confirm my KDB (C).

    Brighton vs United - United have to start performing and fast. VdB should be given a chance, if he does well then we may see Pogba out and Fernandes deeper. Trossard may also take a break from crossbar challenge and look to make up for the previous match.

    Everton vs West Ham - Should be the best game today!

    I'm thinking Werner to Antonio this week regardless of fixtures. Not sure how much football Noble will get and I guess Antonio then gets the pens. Plus I can easily see him doing something v Spurs on the counter and fragile City.

      Definitely not C, defender who is not sure to start and even then playing vs a team who play on Sunday and will get a penalty on Monday for a hit doesn’t sound a good idea. I like B, I d say go for it

    Looked at doing Son > Soucek (and possibly Dunne > Trent for a hit if/when Podence is ruled out and got the dreaded "cannot select more than 3 players from 1 team" message.
