Marcelo Bielsa has stuck true to his word with Leeds United’s line-up for a Gameweek 12 meeting with West Ham United.

The Whites’ manager revealed his starting XI on Wednesday during his pre-match press conference, endearing himself to Fantasy Premier League managers once again.

It means Patrick Bamford (£6.2m) starts up-front in search of his ninth Premier League goal of the season, supported by Rodrigo (£5.7m) and Mateusz Klich (£5.5m) in central midfield.

Jack Harrison (£5.4m) and Raphinha (£5.4m) provide the width while Luke Ayling (£4.5m) fills in at centre-back with Robin Koch (£4.5m) and Diego Llorente (£4.4m) out injured.

That sees Stuart Dallas (£4.6m) shift to right-back and allows Ezgjan Alioski (£4.4m) to keep his place in the team, filling in at left-back.

West Ham have absentees of their own, namely Michail Antonio (£6.2m) and Arthur Masuaku (£4.5m).

That has forced David Moyes to ditch his favoured 3-4-2-1 formation in order to play Aaron Cresswell (£5.2m) at left-back in a back-four, joined there by Angelo Ogbonna (£4.9m), Fabian Balbuena (£4.4m) and Vladimir Coufal (£4.6m).

Saïd Benrahma (£6.0m) finally gets his first Premier League start for West Ham having already registered two assists in just 79 minutes-worth of substitute appearances. He features on the left-hand side of attacking midfield while Pablo Fornals (£6.4m) and Jarrod Bowen (£6.3m) join him in support of centre-forward Sebastien Haller (£6.1m).

Leeds United XI (4-1-4-1): Meslier; Alioski, Cooper, Ayling, Dallas; K Phillips; Harrison, Rodrigo, Klich, Raphinha; Bamford.

West Ham United XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Cresswell, Ogbonna, Balbuena, Coufal; Rice, Soucek; Benrahma, Fornals, Bowen; Haller.

So basically a player can do a jump or stop a while right before kicking to make the keeper move before taking penalties now? Then if they miss it would be retaken lol what a joke.

You see it alot in free kicks. they aren't meant to move until the ball is hit.

You need to move right when the player kicks just to be able to make it on time. So if a player fakes his kick to bait you to move that's allowed too? Not saying in this case but generally.

No you can move right across your line and stand inside the goal then move forward if you want but 1 foot needs to be on the line the ball is hit.

Yeah and I was referring to those who jump or do something funny before taking penalties. They need to ban those stupid things before taking the penalties.

Players aren't allowed to run into the box before the penalty is kicked, right ?

only if they directly interfere with the rebound

if Alioski touches the rebound then it would be called back, same if an encroaching defender gets to the ball

Both teams though. I think they cancel out. Would be a good tctic to simply not run into the box, so you get a retake if the outcome is undesirable. Not certain though

Actually, what Scholesy says is true (I assume they need to be involved in the play somehow, whether they touch the ball or not), and overrides my thoughts

Was wondering about that, he was well inside but I think that's mainly for defenders being in the box if that defender happens to be the one that clears it

Yup this, think they don't care either way unless the striker or defender is the first one to act on the ball in case of a miss

Surely if they are looking for the keeper off the line they should be looking at encroachment too.

So you’re suggesting the penalty should be re-taken even if it’s scored and the keeper is off the line?

What’s the difference though? Neither have any impact on the outcome. Hence why neither are looked at when the penalty is scored.
