There is a prize pool of €75,000 (the equivalent of £67,500) in FanTeam‘s latest Weekly Monster – a tournament that essentially gives Fantasy managers the chance to build a ‘Free Hit’ squad for eight specified upcoming Gameweek 28 matches and win big.

The outright winner is set to take home €7,500 (£6,750), with prizes awarded down to 863rd place.

With only 5,173 entries permitted to the biggest weekly Fantasy event for the English top flight, the odds of finishing in the money are favourable.

Entries cost €20/£18, with the deadline at 15:00 GMT on Saturday – just before kick-off in Crystal Palace v West Brom.

ENTER YOUR TEAM AHEAD OF THE SATURDAY DEADLINE

We have also got news to bring you on the FanTeam Euro 2020 game, which will carry a prize pool of £1m.

HOW TO PLAY: A BRIEF GUIDE

Slightly different from the usual squad-based games, FanTeam managers are given a budget of €105m to build a team of 11 players that includes at least one goalkeeper, three defenders, two midfielders and one forward.

There is no bench or manual substitutes; instead, there is a ‘Safety Net’ feature. If a player in your Fantasy team isn’t in the starting XI for their side, they will automatically be substituted for the next priced player from the same position and club.

Captains score double points, as usual.

For a more detailed rundown of the rules, see the above image.

HOW DOES THE SCORING WORK?

FPL managers looking for a way to make their knowledge pay will have no trouble picking up FanTeam‘s Gameweek 28 Weekly Monster, with its familiar scoring system.

Think of it as FPL without the bonus points, with a few other exceptions – detailed in the graphic above.

ENTER YOUR TEAM AHEAD OF THE SATURDAY DEADLINE

MINI MONSTER

For those on more of a budget, the €12.5k Weekly Monster costs just €2 – but entry is free for new FanTeam customers.

The rules and scoring system are exactly the same as the £75k tournament, with €1,500 going to the winner.

EURO 2020 TOURNAMENT

Win a share of €75,000 in FanTeam’s Gameweek 28 Weekly Monster 1

There’s another huge Fantasy tournament on the horizon, as FanTeam this week unveiled their £1m Euro 2020 event.

A cool £200k will go the winner, with prizes going all the way down to 10,377th place.

      Martinez (3.9)
      Veltman, Shaw, Aina, Dawson, Dallas
      Bruno, Son, Bale, Lingard, Mount
      Kane, Watkins, Richarlison

Gives me 10 for blank 29 and 2fts for 30 all being well. Feel like it's viable to do without city and Livers for a few weeks

      Interesting captain choice this week.

      - Kane (knock? Loves scoring in NLD and form)
      - Salah (decent fixture but no form. Seems least likely of this lot)
      - KDB (rotation risk? decent Fulham defence...but still Fulham)
      - Bruno (seems to be involved in every goal, but tough fixture)

...currently on Kane, but Bruno is nagging (just read he has 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 3 at home)

      Why are y’all doing??!

We put this out a few places, but didn't put out an article dedicated to it:

'In light of recent developments and concerns raised in the community, we took the decision on Saturday morning to put our partnership with Football Index on hold. We will not be running social or editorial content promoting the game for the foreseeable future.'

I don't think it went on site though it went on Twitter responding to people asking about it. I guess I could have made that statement a Hot Topic but thought that as it was the suspension of a deal and not actively an update to the site or content-related I wouldn't. Admittedly could have though, as a place for it to be more visible so I can take some of the blame for it not being visible.

Sorry, buts than astonishingly bad response. So as paid up members reading articles on this website we basically have to check down someone's back garden to see a note pinned on a tree? Yes, I don't use twitter.

Exactly. A statement or post should be put on here. To claim that a reply to a tweet that only a few people would have seen is acceptable, in my view is unsatisfactory.

It's attempting to brush the matter under the carpet.

Geoff, from the Bet365 website regarding affiliate schemes: "When a visitor to your site (or subscriber of your newsletter) becomes a referred customer (by clicking on your affiliate click-thru referral link to the corresponding bet365 site, fully registers and makes an initial deposit), you will earn a 30% commission, based on any net win for the life of the customer"

Are you able to confirm that this doesn't apply to the partnership FFS has with B365?

I think it's a question that needs to be asked of higher up Geoff. Gambling addictions are horrific. If FFS are profting from members of their community gambling and even a very small % becomes addicted is that something the website wants to encourage and be a part of.

There is more and more of a movement to evaluate the role of these gambling companies in football and FFS needs to think what side of that it wants to be on. You have a community here who watch loads of football , enjoy predicting scorers results etc as part of FPL, I would have concerns that they are very vulnerable to a gambling addiction. They are perfect customers/victims in the eyes Bet365 and co who only have one interest - get them hooked and take as much of their money as possible. Do we want to push any of the FFS community into their arms?

As a separate point I notice that on Daily Fantasy & Fan Team articles there is no mention of gambling aware like on Bet365 sponsored articles. These sites are gambling sites just as much as 365, PaddyPower etc. As a first step it needs to be there imo.

Great point on the last bit, I'll flag to David and Neale.

I've forwarded this and other threads to the team broadly for discussion. I'd also stress that my saying I don't know the specifics isn't me saying that there aren't conversations going on around this, just simply that I'm not involved with conversations at the start to work out the details.

Agree with the need for FFS to build a corporate/social responsibility policy - and decide what it wants to stand for.

There are other ways of making revenue instead of this, surely? I thought the Black Box 'detailed responses to donated questions' idea was an interesting step forward, and it was also interesting to see some posters donating for the hell of it too...

I know over the past years there's been a focus and recognition over FPL and mental health. Associating with gambling and the inevitable MH consequences of that surely illustrates a contradiction?
