Fantasy Football Scout’s very own Mark Sutherns has been discussing Gameweek 2 thoughts and his Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team over on our YouTube channel.

    Anyone else find it incredibly hard to not make a transfer, even when I've planned to save the closer it gets to deadline I always feel like I should do something

        I had a season where honest to god every transfer I made backfired spectacularly, not just player I removed got points and player I got in didn't but it was crazy levels, I'm talking player I removed hauls after weeks of blanking and player I get in doesn't start even though he'd played every single minute prior it was insane wish I'd documented it. Cursed season

          Yeah that was last season for me. My mates found it hilarious. Some of the players even got injured in the warm up.

            I think I managed 3 times to get in a player who'd played every single minute, who had no injury, and randomly they weren't in the team it was a mad season! (Not last season for AC's benefit who can't seem to figure out different things happen in different seasons)

      I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed: Tsimikas to Matip. I have 1 mill itb for it, but it's relatively painless to find a million without sacrificing a premium. Matip and VVD have only ever been on the losing side once, and that was in Matip'd debut. If the current defence holds firm, I don't see the new guy breaking in, so Matip should be good so long as he stays fit.

      I think the City squad as a whole are under-fit and under prepared. They'll win, but not impressively. I feel comfortable about going without and am not in a rush to bring any in, including Kane if he were to sign late on.

    No really sure about Marks Mahrez justification that he'll hit a few big scores so let's take a punt on getting one in GW2. I mean, I understand it. But even if he hauls maybe 16 points and blanks one or both GWs either side, by the time he's done his usual blank and benching it's a player looking at maybe 20 in 3. And you've set your team to a price point that forces 2 transfers, to lose him and redistribute money or upgrade. In all liklihood the knock on from Mahrez for many managers will result in a hit that wouldn't be necessary if you started with a player you envisage keeping, or who has a great price point. So knock 4 points of whatever you make. So I don't really agree with Andy either that it's nothing more than a 'missed punt'. You really need Mahrez to fire quite a substantial amount of points to justify the disruption imo

        I mean, this is kind of my point. If you started with son there is every chance you've matched him and are two transfers up. Andy is already talking about a -4 to get son. That's literally because of the decision to own Mahrez. I get that people get defensive when you question a player they're invested in, but...

          Have Mahrez + 1.5m itb, so will require no hits to get Son. Mahrez was mainly for the Norwich game. I like to have one attacker that's a two-week punt because you'll have to use a FT in GW3 otherwise you lose it.

        Yes of course, you can't own them all can you and players like Mahrez are always a concern. This was just my thinking why I avoided it and chose a different price point with money invested in Son instead

      Look. Mahrez plays for City. They know how tonk teams. When Mahrez is on it, he normally gets a nice haul. He's also not owned by many.

      You win the game by taking these sorts of risks.
