The Gameweek 5 fixture swing has thrown up a few teams who now look prime for investment in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Leicester City, who have had a mixed start to the new season, are towards the top of the Season Ticker over the next five Gameweeks but haven’t dominated discussion as the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arsenal and Leeds United have.

With that in mind, we asked the Scout Academy who they will be keeping an eye on from the Foxes.

FPL Focus

Youri Tielemans (£6.5m) has started all four opening fixtures, playing every minute and registering a goal. He comes with the added security of knowing that he is definitely going to start games – something that many of the ‘big six’ mid-price midfielders can’t say – and he has so far made six key passes. His relationship with Jamie Vardy (£10.4m) means that he always looks for the forward’s runs, while he is not afraid to take on long shots himself. With Brighton and Burnley up next, he could be a nice pick.

Fantasy Football Academy

Whilst everyone is focusing on Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m) and Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m), Jamie Vardy (£10.4m) has some amazing fixtures and is currently being criminally overlooked. He is nailed and on penalties, and I expect Leicester to bounce back to form soon. This is an opportunity to differentiate and go big on the English striker.

And with Leicester’s key centre-backs now close to a return, I can see their backline becoming solid again and their defenders could haul big soon.

FPL Talking Points

How Grealish fared on his City debut and other FPL Community Shield lessons 3

This was the patch of green I had my eye on for Leicester’s fixtures when I chose Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) and Danny Ward (£4.0m) as my goalkeeping duo at the outset of the season. So while a third member of the Foxes’ defensive unit isn’t for me, set-piece threat Jannik Vestergaard (£4.9m) is primed for returns at both ends of the pitch.

Isn’t it possible that Jamie Vardy (£10.4m) could match Cristiano Ronaldo‘s (£12.6m) output over the next five matches given how difficult the upcoming run of fixtures appears for Manchester United? If you can overcome the fear of missing out with Ronaldo and Vardy does deliver, then saving over £2.0m – which can strengthen our teams elsewhere -seems like a big game. Billy Gilmour (£4.5m) to Raphinha (£6.5m)? Yes please!

Alfie Pods FPL

The arrival of big premium players means I’m shying away from Leicester assets until their defence and form settles down. Brighton away is going to be tight and Graham Potter’s men are not keen on giving away space, but, I still fancy the Foxes for a goal or two. So who’s going to score? Kelechi Iheanacho (£7.1m) likes to find the net against Brighton, but considering his playing time remains an uncertainty, it’s has be to be Jamie Vardy (£10.4m). Hedge the bets in the safe place.

Leicester have more than enough about them to go to the Amex and pick up a clean sheet. Ricardo Pereira (£5.5m) and Timothy Castange (£5.4m) both offer a lot of attacking potential from their full-back positions, especially with space to exploit behind Brighton’s wing-backs – but will more than one of them start, with Ryan Bertrand (£5.0m) fit again?

FPL Shake ‘n’ Bake

Ademola Lookman (£6.0m) made his debut for Leicester in Gameweek 4, and instantly looked dangerous, with two shots (one on target) in just 17 minutes. After an impressive cameo, and with the Foxes’ attack stuttering so far, he could be given an increased opportunity to continue to impress. One for the watchlist.

G2G? No taa might be an issue but will have to tear my team apart for it.
    Sanchez
    Marcal digne white
    Salah jota Torres sarr
    Bamford Ronaldo lukaku

So is lukaku in my opinion
Most people who own taa don’t have lukaku so yeah ultimately it comes down to those 2

Build your team around the following, you need to have all 4

          TAA
          Salah
          Ronaldo
          Lukaku

You only get value out of a premium by capping em and you can only cap one at a time else two midpriced often outscores

            Lukaku + cheap

End of the day it's who finishes on most points and not best value though

                So

                Lukaku 12p + cheap 2p = 14p
                Vs
                Jota/greenwood/foden/grealish 8p + antonio/ings/DCL 8p = 16p

Its all about consistency. If you dont cap the big hitters you wont get the value because the sum of points when combined with cheap is less then 2 midpriced

    Sanchez

I like Armstrong's run of fixtures.

City and Chelsea away in the next 3 couldn't get much worse imo but to each their own.

However, Armstrong is a good player and is due to hit a run of form eventually so good luck mate!

    I am so stuck between a 3 big hitter team and a more balanced WC team;

    Sanchez
    TAA Marcal White
    Salah(c) Jota Greenwood Raphinha
    Ronaldo Jimenez Bamford

    Steele Williams Sissoko Livramento
    0.8 ITB

    Sanchez
    TAA Cancelo Marcal White
    Salah Gray Raphinha Greenwood
    Lukaku Ronaldo

    Steele Williams Sissoko Scarlett
    0.0 ITB.

Which team do you think is better? With team A I will probably bring in Lukaku for Ronaldo GW 7.

I've spent the week weighing up the 3 premium team Vs a more balanced 2 on WC. I still think the balanced team is slightly better, but if I'm wrong (and probably am), then getting the 3 premiums in will be impossible without a ton of hits once I've spread the funds. Easier to downgrade.

Plus although Uniteds fixtures look bad on the ticker, I don't believe they are in reality. So a GW7 swap from Ron to Rom may not be as easy to make as it seems.

    4. Pacer.
      • 11 Years

I kind of disagree that one is more balanced than the other. There seems to be loads of 5.5-7.5 mids this year so that's not an issue

The way it might become unbalanced is if another mid emerges in the 10-12 and seems essential. But that applies to both your teams

      1. Pacer.
        • 11 Years

Yeah midfield could be bloated next season with Gilmour and Gallagher returning plus I expect us to go back in for Rice next summer too. It’s looking very promising for the next few years, just need to tie down Rudiger, our one proper nasty player that all teams need.

A man utd player, pogba or greenwood
Bring Antonio back in for Bamford and bench him for 1gw

Antonio is the same price as Bamford so wouldn't work. Your looking at losing 1 forward for someone like Pukki to upgrade a Sarr or Raph. I don't think a Pukki&Greenwood pair outscores Sarr&Bamford over the coming weeks

Stats aren't that relevant as he hasn't had Lukaku in the past. He's a great asset to own - the only question is if you prefer the Chelsea defence.

It looks if Laporte is injured/ rotation risk- which WC team is best

    Sanchez Steele
    TAA Duffy Livramento Marcal Laporte?
    Salah Greenwood Raphinha Gray McArthur
    Ronaldo Lukaku Hwang

    or
    swap Laporte, Raphinha + Gray
    --> White, Jota, Doucoure?

    2 FT

Contemplating taking a hit - Bruno, Tsimikas and Ayling > Jota, James and Cancelo

This would mean with already owning Lukaku, I may not have to WC as early as some.

    "ABC is a must"
    "XYZ is a must"

BS. And more funny when seeing such comments from people who've played the game for years. Nobody, and I mean no single player is a "must" in this game. It all depends on how good your team is.

People have actually won this game without having a "must" player in their team most of the season.
Having them helps, but disbalancing your team because you have to have the "must" player is what's silly imo.

I haven't been spectacular, because I take a lot of hits, but finished inside the Top 50k 3 times in the last 5 seasons.
As I said, not spectacular, but for the way I play the game to mainly for the purpose of entertainment, think I've done well.
