A question about Hall of Fame. What's the meaning of the column 'Hof Rating'. I see that Fabio Borges has a Hof Rating of 98.56, while mine is 89.86. I understand that the higher the better, but I don't get what it really means.

Up there with Kim Kallstrom, who absolutely had to play for Arsenal with his history of injuies and unfulfilled potential.

I was dead against Morata at Arsenal at first.

However looking at his stats, they're not bad. Big teams keep on buying him and he's still playing for Spain

Wouldn't judge Morata by his Chelsea spell, there was few other big name strikers who struggled at Stamford Bridge.
        Torres, Shevchenko, Lukaku, Werner.

That's basically correct, but I have zero idea what happened to Morata. However, I really can't see him succeed. I just simply can't see it happening. He is no Lukaku or Antonio, who both should have the physicality.

From fpl point I jumped on him early (when he actually did quite well) and ditched him quite fast also, so when most others got totally trolled, I at least caught some of his goals and price rises 🙂

With the seasom break at November 12th, I am assuming the strategy would be to save the Wildcard for then..

And make a strategy for the first 3 months, not worried about what happena after?

As long as they don't make a decision after the season starts (wouldn't put it past them!). Knowing in advance will massively influence WC planning in the early weeks.

You've gotta hope that it's on their horizon, rather than the bad COVID breaks we had that were unpredictable at the start of the season.

I quite like the idea of allowing us to have two full sets of Chips either side of the WC. but you cannot carry them over. So you can play bench boost, FH, TC and WC before and after the World Cup.

I haven't thought much about how the WC will influence FPL.

All this talk on here about how this was a unique season and Covid changed how we play, realistically the WC will have a huge affect on tactics for next season - even chat here about extra chips or transfers being offered.

When will we have a bog standard normal FPL season next? 😛

The big difference between the Covid season and the upcoming Word Cup season, is that whatever they decide to do with chips etc, we will know at the start. In theory, the World Cup should act as just an International break, albeit longer than usual. There should be none of the disruption, last minute postponements, players getting Covid or extra chips that disrupted this season so badly.

Why shouldn't players be getting covid also next season? The risk of new variant is very high and shots don't seem to give long lasting protection against infection.

must be nice on Planet Grealish, living off the fumes of your own hype and really believing you made a contribution to your teams title win when in actual fact you were a squad player at best who wasn't trusted in the big games and didn't even come on against your old team on the final day.

not about living the dream, every professional footballer is doing that...unless you think living the dream is slagging off other players in the league when you have basically just stood on the coat tails of your teammates this season and been carried to a league title medal . a player like ronaldo or gerrard who had a bit of pride probably wouldn't even take that medal had they contributed so little.

I don't know, I'd say that goal against West Ham was fairly important. Without that, no PL medal's winner for any City player this season.

He's just a young lad enjoying himself FFS. The Almiron comment was pretty crass but let's not crucify him over it eh.

Also, he has said on camera this week that he has a lot to prove next season and hopes to contribute more. People should bear in mind that City play a complete different style to Villa and his role between the teams bears little resemblance, that's as tough a transition as you can get. Very early to draw final conclusions on the flop or not count.

"Money well spent" in a newspaper article about Grealish.
3 goals, 3 assists in the Premier League.
I'd say he made no notable contribution to City winning the league. If they hadn't signed him, they wouldn't have faltered one bit.
He's a good player, but 6 goals and 12 assists for a Villa team with nowhere near the talent in the City squad should have been transferred to 10 goals and 20 assists this season.
To those who make excuses that Grealish "had to settle in", look at Premier League new boy Kulusevski's 14 attacking returns in 18 games (5 goals, 9 assists).

They didn't buy him for one season, but for 4/5, long term planning... See Mahrez, flopped first season, made a {more than} meaningfull contribution since... Same for Rodri, maybe Laporte, and Diaz... Same at Liverpool... We might be focused on near term as FPL players, but the big clubs ain't...

          {I exclude ManU from this, that is a joke!}

See my comment above. I'd say he made one rather notable contribution.

Kulusevski had a lot less competition for his role and is also a better natural fit for Spurs style of play. Grealish was always going to have to adapt and change his game massively, whether he will be able to or not remains to be seen.

      League Table since January 1st:

      1. Liverpool – 19 games, 51 points, +34 GD.
      2. Manchester City – 18 games, 43 points, +34 GD.
      3. Tottenham – 21 games, 41 points, +27 GD.
      4. Newcastle United – 19 games, 38 points, +5 GD
      5. Arsenal – 19 games, 34 points, +4 GD
      6. Chelsea – 18 games, 32 points, +14 GD
      7. Leicester – 20 games, 27 points, +5 GD
      8. Brighton – 20 games, 27 points, -1 GD
      9. Manchester United – 20 games, 27 points, -4 GD
      10. Brentford – 20 games, 26 points, -4 GD
      11. Wolves – 20 games, 26 points, -4 GD
      12. Crystal Palace – 19 games, 25 points, +4 GD
      13. West Ham – 19 games, 25 points, 0 GD
      14. Burnley – 22 games, 24 points, -10 GD
      15. Aston Villa – 20 games, 23 points, +2 GD
      16. Leeds United – 20 games, 22 points, -19 GD
      17. Everton – 21 games, 20 points, -15 GD
      18. Southampton – 19 games, 19 points, -15 GD.
      19. Norwich – 19 games, 12 points, -27 GD
      20. Watford – 21 games, 10 points, -30 GD

Not sure how useful this is given that some teams had European commitments, and others were pretty much on the beach, but thought it was interesting nonetheless.

      A few takeaways for me:

      - Newcastle... just wow. I look forward to seeing their summer transfers. Burn, Targett, Bruno, Trippier were great additions already.

      - Spurs also very good, close to Man City, way above Chelsea. With a couple of top wingbacks they could be a strong side with Conte at the helm.

      - Brentford continue to surprise. They seem to be performing greater than the sum of their parts. Their heavy reliance on data science seems to be paying off. Moneyball in action.

      - Villa and Everton however seem to be performing less than the sum of their parts. Quality players, poor performances.

There is no way Wilson won't be starting, regardless of who they sign. He may get a partner, but not a replacement. He is highly regarded at the club with Howe saying only a few weeks ago that he is a "key player" for them.

Yeah i was hoping for around £7.5m, which is where he started last season. Anything above that (£8m-£9.5m) is typically a bit of a dead-zone isnt it, so we might be alright. Depends how good they think Newcastle are going to be, and if they buy anyone else.

Wishful thinking imo. He is a high-percentage attacking forward in a Liverpool team that scores goals from those 'wide' positions, clearly bought for his ability to contribute (to) goals and integrated immediately and successfully. If you are unwilling to pay 10m for him, you will probably miss out during good fixture runs. We'll see

Your logic is sound but not related to precedent in terms of FPL player pricing. 10m would be an extraordinary rise given his actual attacking numbers last season.

I reckon he'll be sub-10m, but not by much, based on very good if not incendiary numbers over less than half a season. He could well end up nailed in most managers' teams pretty quickly.

If Mane goes, I'd definitely get him in for anything 9 or sub. Probably go the no Salah route then too with all the other premiums to try and squeeze in.

Mane leaving to Bayern means Diaz is nailed right?

Jota still has Firmino to deal with at CF while there is no competition for Diaz and Salah on the flanks.

5 maybe? But I know more about Gelhardt than pricing practice tbh. If I set up with 451 I'll definitely be looking to get him

          They do under Conte.

Kulu and Bentancur seemed to completely change Spurs.

Filip Kostic created 87 chances playing at LWB this season in Bundesliga, to put that in perspective De Bruyne created 87 chances as well

Would prefer Kostic over Perisic as he is more younger and athletic. Perisic is good player nonetheless

He was playing as a LW as well in 3-4-3/4-2-3-1

But majority of them were as LWB, so not bad. Just that his chances were not being converted, so not sure if chances were any good
