Researchers at The University of West London, La Trobe University and Nottingham Trent University are investigating the impact of Fantasy Football on its most passionate fans – and they want your help.

It has become a huge global game and continues to grow each year. Despite this, little is known about the positive and negative mental effects that involvement in Fantasy Football may have on individuals, with only one previous study on this topic currently published (Wilkins et al., 2021). The study you are invited to take part in focuses on this topic and aims to build on what we know so far.

You can begin the survey by clicking here

Participation involves completing a questionnaire. In addition, you will be asked five open-ended questions about your experiences of playing Fantasy Football, as well as questions about your behaviours and attitudes concerning the game.

You will also be asked about your personality and the potential effects that playing Fantasy Football has on your mental health and more general emotions. It is estimated that the study will take between 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

All data will remain confidential and anonymous. You will not be asked for your name or any other identifying features at any point. You are free to not answer any questions which you do not wish to answer. However, questions you do answer must be answered as truthfully and honestly as possible for us to obtain accurate findings.

Only the principal investigators involved can access the study data, which may also be used in future reports such as academic journals and conference presentations. However, again, no individual will be identifiable through such publication.

Participants are free to withdraw at any point, either during the data collection stage or for up to three weeks following it, by contacting the research team and providing the unique code they generated at the start of the questionnaire pack. In this eventuality, all of the withdrawing participant’s data will be destroyed immediately.

If you have any questions or thoughts about the questionnaire – or the topic in general – please feel free to contact Dr Jamie Churchyard at jamie.churchyard@uwl.ac.uk.

You can begin the survey by clicking here

I have Halland instead of Kane but otherwise identical teams. Tempted by Bailey to Groß but am minded to save. 2 frees going into the mid week games are likely to be more valuable than making a move for GW4.

There will be people wildcarding to that team, mate. Save, take last week on the chin. Only thing that I'd consider would be Robertson & Mitrovic to James & Toney if you have 2 FTs. Wouldn't be doing it for a hit though. Yer grand, basically.

Kulu has looked good as a player, but rarely taking any shots so ceiling is limited.

Watched the game vs Wolves and he was unlucky not to have a return. Harry squandered some golden assists from him. Will give him NFO and maybe ship out then since Richarlison will probably start in midweek game

I have had that midfield 3 since my GW1 WC 🙂 but it will be seeing some changes soon...

It is a good midfield 3 though.

Keep for Bournemouth game mate. If pool concede again then I think there is a serious discussion to have around Liverpool defenders but it is arguably the best home game they will have all season so surely you give it one more game

You don't need to worry about Trent's price going down. He is the highest owned defender in the game.

Are you going to move on Jesus if his price goes down?

I’ve made 1 transfer this season, and that was Neto > Reed.
Need to move some players on, but price changes and rises haven’t been kind to the rough plans I had.
I’m going to drop Robbo (to Dunk) to give me some cash to sort out my midfield which currently contains Andreas, Bailey and Reed.
Will have 8.3 to spend on a replacement for Bailey. Who would you pick from…
    A) Diaz
    B) Kulu
    C) Rodrigo (and leave 2mil itb)

Currently on A) because of fixture and a gut feeling that Liverpool will bounce back v Bou

    1. Flowsick
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

If you feel LIV will bounce back v BOU then why are you contemplating getting rid of Robbo this week? Either commit to getting rid of LIV and go Dunk and Kulu, or stick for the BOU game and utilize expiring FT elsewhere.

      1. thegaffer82
        • 15 Years
        4 years, 11 days ago

Because my mid contains Bailey, Reed & Andreas and I can’t afford anyone good to replace them with.
Time to ditch double Pool Df and sort the structure of my team out

Saint-Maximum could be a good pick, obviously Rodrigo is flavour of the month but Harrison could prove a better pick.

Also Zaha would be great after City but even they shipped 3 to Newcastle so why not, his fixtures look great later on

In terms of a 'value' attacker you might be right. Otherwise I wouldn't look past KDB. At 7.5m though I'd want him to be nailed on before getting him. A few players can play that role though I suspect.

Tempted to get him. Just the fact that no City player is nailed and I already have Haaland makes me worry though. They could both get benched in almost any of the easier fixture.

The immediate GW4 fixture is definitely better for Diaz but he hasn't looked lively or in goalscoring situations often

TAA > Perisic feels tempting. But the former will just explode Vs Bournemouth won’t he 🙁

I wouldn't sell TAA. 4 good fixtures coming up. Perisic not being nailed would worry me also

I really want Kulu for some reason, but is Zaha a wiser move?

I'd wait a week on Zaha. Fixtures are good after City.

    Somehow at 24k

    Ederson | Ward
Trent Zinchenko James Cancelo | Williams
Zaha Rodrigo Salah Martinelli | Andreas
    Jesus Haaland | Archer

Bought Zinchenko in with my free, good to go???

Don't think you need to ask for advice on here if you are ranked that high! 😉
