The first midweek round of Premier League fixtures is drawing ever closer and for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, so is the spectre of rotation.

It’s been a relatively serene affair so far in 2022/23, with all bar UEFA Europa Conference League entrants West Ham United enjoying ample recovery time in between their league matches. As a result, starting XIs have been relatively settled.

The real unpredictable business starts after Gameweek 4, however, with two more Gameweeks following in quick succession.

Beyond that, the six or seven English sides involved in European club competition will play twice a week, every week – with the exception of the late-September international break – up until the Premier League halts for the World Cup.

There’ll be plenty of coverage on packed schedules and rotation risks on these pages over the coming days, weeks and months, then, and we’ll start with a look at turnaround times between the league fixtures in Gameweeks 4-6.

GAMEWEEK 4-6: OVERVIEW

    Ederson (Ward)
    TAA - Cancelo - James - Saliba - Trippier
    Salah - Marti (Pereira - Dasilva - 4.5)
    Haaland - Jesus - Toney

Had a good gameweek with 5-2-3, planning to stick the same and roll the FT.

So.. Ake has a groin injury. Looked pretty upset as he went off.

No expert, but surely that would rule him out for at least a few weeks? He's only yellow flagged but surely he'll miss out on 4-6?

Know he's been a FPL troll over the last couple of seasons but surely you'd play Digne in a home fixture against a team with a 100% losing record and no goals scored?

Not worth taking a hit to get him out this week.

    Mendy Ward
    TAA James Walker Cancelo N.Will

Can’t see a lot wrong with it apart from Neto but no obvious replacements without a hit.

Neto does need to go but there’s no harm holding one more week, or even two more if necessary

If I were to WC I guess I would probably move out James due to his RCB role, Archer to Stansfield due to no minutes, and upgrade Dasilva with the money from James.

Obviously I would transfer out players likely to drop, and get them back in after their drop saving cash like a boss, but since I did not use the WC before players like trippier went up I doubt I can make any funds on double ricers from now to deadline.

Surely I should keep my WC then? 😉 0 FTs and 1.6 ITB

    Sanchez
    TAA - Cancelo - Robertson - James
    Salah (C) - Ødegaard - Martinelli - Andreas
    Haaland - Jesus

    (Ward, Dasilva, Neco, Archer)

Give him this GW is my thinking, if they can't keep a CS against Bournemouth sell him before full time.

From what I've seen his crossing has been a bit off, and not on as many set pieces, but has been taken a more central attacking role with many runs into the box.

BOU, NEW, eve, WOL looks good.
I am keeping - nice differential if you ask me 🙂

He will not drop more than 0.1

Most transfered him out on WC, and few more will join within the next days, but can't really sell ahead of BOU at Anfield.

Bournemouth is like the team looking least likely to score a goal

Hold one more week then sell Robbo

I’m looking to shift TAA after GW7 if form is still rank as his fixtures are not great GW8-11

I would hold for this GW , I had both also but on a Wc from Saturday already so 1 or both even may go out . Think you should look to lose at least 1 by next gw though.

Probably hold this week and defo not sell for a hit

If they don't keep a CS vs. BOU something is seriously wrong, 0.9 xG lowest in league, a single big chance created, only 6 shots on target (lowest in league), 30 penalty area touches (lowest in the league, next is 46)

I don't really understand what people are thinking they are going to do with the game week 8 wildcard if you get rid of 3 Arsenal 3 Liverpool all Tottenham players maybe even some man city, then if you want to get the Template team back in game week 13 you will have to make 6-9 transfers lol

    1. Randaxus
      • 4 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

It does not seem like a sustainable option to get rid of a lot of top 5 players because you will want to transfer them back in, it solves short term fixture problems but creates long term transfer problems.

    2. Fish up a tree
      • 4 Years
      3 years, 6 months ago

Don’t think there is set week to use it.

Nobody is going to get rid of City players as they are fixture proof, Arse attackers are not worth ditching either as tough games are at home & I still see goals, Spurs fixtures are still ok. Possibly Liverpool players & Arsenal defenders could go but it’s not essential to WC GW8 at all.

      1. Randaxus
        • 4 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

They way people were talking about their wildcard is that they will remove all players with bad fixtures, but since so many of the players with bad fixtures are in the top 5 I don't think they can do it while maintaining a template team.

I'm Kane over Haaland, because (a) Kane is guaranteed to start, an injury prone Haaland will surely be managed, (b) Kane has delivered season after season for almost ten years, (c) Kane is cheaper. Am I wrong?

They will have to get a CL spot to attract the better players so that is why they would be willing to buy Maddison and players from other PL teams for now.

Think top for is a bit out of reach for them at this point though.

And they’re not signing players with giant egos who come in on huge wages and disrupt the harmony in the dressing room

Exactly, they're making smart signings and making good progress, as they make progress the profile of player they can attract improves too

With both 8 mill not delivering mids Diaz and Kulu in my team, would you downgrade one of them?

Also have Salah, Martinelli and Andreas

No for me but I can see why Rodrigo zaha etc are enticing or even downgrading mid and getting Toney

Diaz home to Bournemouth. Surely one more chance for him.

Cheers, giving Diaz, Kulu, James and TAA another week. 40 points this week was painful

How is De Bruyne so popular that he expect to rise in price again? Is everyone ditching Salah before Bournemouth game?

In your view which captain is the strongest for gw4:

              Salah (BOU)
              Jesus (FUL)
              Haaland (PALACE)

                  Salah
Though I really should go Trent when I look at Bournemouth's attacking stats and the volume of crosses they've conceded on TAA's side

                C) Rashford + Cancelo + Sanchez
