Gameweek 13 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) begins at the City Ground, where Nottingham Forest and Liverpool meet in the 12.30pm BST kick-off.

Most Premier League clubs have played three matches over the last week and none have had turnarounds as quick as Liverpool, so there is unsurprisingly more rotation from Jurgen Klopp today.

Having made five changes to his starting XI in Gameweek 12, the Reds’ head coach has done the same again this lunchtime.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is among those players dropping to the bench, while Darwin Nunez – flagged as a doubt ahead of this game – isn’t involved at all.

Thiago Alcantara doesn’t make the matchday squad, either, with Klopp explaining ahead of kick-off why those two players aren’t available today:

“No [it’s not precautionary], I wish I could do that.

“For Darwin the game comes too early, he still feels the intensity of the game muscle-wise so there was no chance he could play today. Maybe he could play tomorrow or on Monday but not today.

“And Thiago got a bad ear infection overnight. The decision was made this morning at 5.15. That’s how it is sometimes and that’s the reason for that.” – Jurgen Klopp

Jordan Henderson and Kostas Tsimikas are the other two players to make way, while Andrew Robertson, James Milner, Harvey Elliott, Fabinho and Curtis Jones are handed recalls.

If Klopp is sticking with his new-look 4-4-2, Darwin’s absence means that Mohamed Salah looks set to play through the middle alongside Roberto Firmino.

As for hosts Nottingham Forest, Neco Williams gets another start and comes face to face with his old club.

Steve Cooper’s two changes see Brennan Johnson and Orel Mangala drop to the bench and Taiwo Awoniyi and Cheikhou Kouyate return.

GAMEWEEK 13 LINE-UPS

Nottingham Forest: Henderson, Aurier, Cook, McKenna, Williams, Yates, Freuler, Kouyate, Gibbs-White, Awoniyi, Lingard.

Substitutes: Biancone, Worrall, Mangala, Hennessey, Surridge, Johnson, Dennis, Boly, Renan Lodi.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Milner, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Fabinho, Jones, Salah, Firmino, Carvalho.

Substitutes: Adrian, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Clark, Bajcetic, Phillips, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold.

    Yes ,Salah isnt the same.
But seeing the line up this wasnt unexpected.
Jones, Carvalho, Milner agent good enough.
    Fabinho totally out of form.
    Firmino was poor.
Elliot tries but seems the only one.

There was just no creativity in midfield and no matter who you put in front , if you dont get the ball you cant score.

    Nfo deserved this win

Hindsight though. They conceded 3 at home to Bournemouth and Fulham. Wasn’t beyond the realms of possibility that Salah might score a few

Not really. I posted it before kick off.
Not saying liv couldnt have scored, or salah.
Just saying liv have too many injuries, players out form or players who just dont cut it.

Seeing the line up you could tell Salah would have problems getting the ball.

There is a huge difference between a taa, thiago, luiz on the pitch than a milner,Jones, carvalho.

          Yep agree. Both Jones and Elliot have shown potential but no where near levels of those injured as you pointed out;

          Forest executed the game perfectly

Liverpool must have been insanely over performing in previous seasons as this regression across every player bar Allison is crazy.

The side ways passing of Henderson in that second half would have driven me insane if it was a fan

Purely on Klopp. I know he has players returning from injury but benching your only player likely to create is madness.

Will probably cite all the money forest have spent as a reason for the loss and Liverpool can’t compete financially

They weren't overperforming. The balance of attack vs defence was different.

Compare Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum with Jones, Fabinho, Elliott.

Plus Nunez and Diaz are more attacking (don't put in the hard defensive yards) than Mane. So they have overtilted to attack, which exposes their defence, which means they concede more and lose more games.

Disagree entirely. Problem today was attack. They looked clueless against the low block:

Granted few good chances from set pieces they barley created anything

They look clueless against the low block because they can't unleash the full-backs (TAA didn't even start) because more of their attack is coming through midfield and forwards.

A few seasons ago, the low block was defeated by pushing the full backs so high the pitch and the midfield three being fairly deep. Occasionally one of Wijnaldum or Henderson would make a late run forward.

Need to go back to the old ways. Protect TAA and Robbo, by being defensive in midfield and let TAA and Robbo run riot.

Anyone with Salah realistically needs to keep since its a wildcard in 3 weeks

Pretty poor use of funds to move him to Saka ( and besides the current structure allows likes of Saka /Foden and Salah

Good luck finding that other someone who you can be sure will outscore him - i mean he scored 6 days ago

He is still on pens and getting chances and as i said its only 3 weeks left till wildcard , so ya poor use of a transfer

When you spend more time on teeth maintenance than you do football tactics, these are the kind of things you can expect to happen.

Less toothy, more footy. That's the way to turn it around.
