Yeah but Saka was dreadful, not a single pen touch. NPXgi not even on the list above. Terrible.

Bournemouth have shown they can score against the better defences in the league. I can't see a Trent CS and he's off the pace at the other end of the pitch. B for me

TAA -> Espu will be my transfer this week, can't see him getting much vs ManUnited either despite the game being at Anfield.

Tough. I think Estupinan simply because he has a better 29 but the 28 fixtures might change that if Mee doesn't blank

          1. Eleven Hag
            • 8 Years

Mee is highly owned compared to Espu and will be starting next week in most teams I reckon

Getting Estupinan here. I think he's been high up there among all defenders in the game since the World Cup

Mee is a great option, but I don't like his DGW29 fixtures as much as I like Estupinan's, so that's a bit of a factor for my squad. Not much between their DGW27 fixtures, imo

Not sure what your chip strategy is but the reason engaged managers took hit for Liverpool players is not just bc of this one double but long term they're good options till the WC. They might play in 28 even if it's only 40% - they play twice in 29 and they don't blank in 32. Brighton players are good too ofc but they're more guaranteed to blank in 28 and they might blank in 32. Would rather sell another defender for a Brighton asset.

Ah will he mate?? That does alter things, Darwin to Toney was my move for 26, could do Nketiah to Watkins aswell is what I’m thinking too

I like the look of Darwin to Watkins in GW26, then Nketiah to Toney in GW27

Palace is a weaker defence than Fulham, and Watkins is flying

Also lets you see if Toney's already had that 9th yellow before the double

Hiya mate, I’ve literally just been thinking this exactly!! Make sense holding off Toney for a week for those very reasons, and Watkins is on a hot streak right now, think it’s a shrewd idea!! Cheers mate!!

Maddison's absence: 1 shot from Leicester, outside the box. A disallowed breakaway goal too, yet these are dire numbers, especially when compared to the recent games with Maddison starting

I still think Leicester defended better than usual here. I guess the parked bus nullified their own threat as well

He would be my Salah replacement for the BB in dgw29.

Would you get him earlier in place of Salah as my other 4 midfield spots are locked with Saka, Odegaard, Rashford and Mitoma.

That's tough. I think Maddison edges it if both blank in GW28. If not, I'd swing to the one with the extra fixture

But yeah, Maddison (C) for me on BB29 if he's fit

Personally I reckon Eddie up front, Martinelli on left, Trossard bench.

Though... I have Eddie and Martinelli

I didn't elaborate on that because I didn't watch the game, only had radio.
But on basis (today nothwithstanding) of being a new player, the player in his position having scored, rested Eddie coming back in.

Mikel Arteta on benching Nketiah: "Eddie's been carrying a 'little thing' in the last few games, though he's been doing really well. No, it's not a serious [injury]. He's been training afterwards [following matches]. We've got three games in a very short period. We need everybody fresh."

I think he's the preferred starter now. There's still a chance that Bueno starts vs Liverpool anyway (which will make me consider him nailed), but I think it's getting closer to the White vs Tomiyasu situation

I'm thinking of gearing all my transfers to bb gw29. Will require 2 hits to have 10 dgw players with kane, haaland, saka and White. Fh in 28. Then will still have my WC to deal with the run in. That plan will probably change a million times between now and then.

Yep did Ederson to Raya already today, what a bad pick he was.

Will do De Gea to Kepa as well. De Gea would have been a fine pick except I kept starting Ederson based on fixtures, missed tonnes of points with that repeated mistake. But need no blankers, and also free up ManU spots in case I want Fernandes in at some point.

Has there been any instances in the past where the eventual league champions have lost twice in a season to their nearest challengers in 2nd place? For context I’m thinking of a scenario where Arsenal lose twice to City this season and go on to win the title. Not saying this will happen, just hypothesising.

Man united vs Rafas Liverpool the season Vidic got red carded, we won the title and we may have lost to Liverpool home and away.

Was one of those that 4-1 defeat? I know Vidic got sent off in that.

Funny how you sometimes forget the bigger picture around certain memorable results. Like when United beat Ipswich 9-0... we won nothing that season!

He won us another game 2,3 games later, guess it was against Sunderland away, a tight game that we won 2-1 I guess with Macheda scoring the winner after 70 mins.

Right, Villa then Sunderland. It was that turn and shot in the Villa game though when we'd never heard his name before (unless you follow the youth/reserve teams which I didn't after moving abroad) that was the real magical moment. He should never have to buy his own pints!

Anyone think moving Kane on to Watkins or Toney would be a good shout over next few weeks? Toney probably first choice but wondering about having both and a bit of cash for the midfield

This what I’m doing, moved Kane do Darwin this week(not gone according to plan haha) then the plan was Darwin to Toney this next week, might now do Darwin to Watkins this week and Nketiah to Watkins

I've got Darwin and Kane so Darwin to Toney probably a shoe-in. Would take me down to 1 premium and not sure where I'd spend the cash, but both look good shouts

I would do the move without any hesitation. I already got Watkins and will give my other striker Havertz 🙂 one more game vs Leeds and then move to Toney in dgw27.

Doing a Kane > Watkins > Kane switcheroo in GWs 28 and 31

I'd have loved to get Watkins earlier, but I don't have a strong reason to sell Kane vs Wolves or Forest

Hopefully one of the Chelsea mids will come good vs Spurs and then Leeds, will make things much easier to navigate with Chelsea players until Gw29 without using any chips and with less hits.

Probably a minefield even when they come good

Currently Felix or nought for me in that attack, but maybe you're right and someone will make things more interesting

If you do need a midfielder from GW27, may I suggest Almiron? Stats are finally trending upward. Confidence never dropped. Can be a nice option for most of the rest of the season, especially with a good third striker

Yes. "Available data" includes observations made by myself and others, statistics (not just the popular ones), heatmaps, team roles, team performance, quotes from managers and players, as well as fixtures, form and some other data I may have forgotten here

Exactly. Everything is data. I think you're mistaking my use of "data" for "statistics"

I talk about "the big picture" and "data" when referring to "everything we can feasibly gather to make informed decisions"

"Statistics" refer more to pure numbers, at least for me

We don't really need the word 'data' then, it makes it sound specific to certain things, when really we're talking about everything.

                    Anyway. Semantics etc.

Got Rashford Saka and Odegaard who are doing well, my other two mids are Salah and Mitoma. I would br doing Salah to Maddison before the dgw29 and like yourself I will be captaining him. Could sell Rashford for Almiron in gw28 ? as we have a bgw and then got Newcastle and brentford in the dgw..

        1. Ze_Austin

Oh, I wouldn't lose Rashford for Almiron with more fixtures, as things stand atm. I guess that's just Salah to Madders here

Maybe if Almiron starts another hot streak or Newcastle's attack impresses again

Darwin owner here. Whatever happens midweek considering shifting to watkins or toney

Toney has double 27 but blanks 27

    Watkins plays both

I'll free hit in 29. Feels like a tricky decision.....

      Think I'm going Toney.

Seems to make sense to get toney for his double....but then he blanks so its an extra move to watkins needed

Guess you have to play what is in front of you - which means getting toney

Also toney plays Fulham next eho have paulinha suspended

Coin toss, maybe. There's a chance of Toney having an extra fixture, so that could swing it

Watkins has the form atm, but Toney's been unlucky in some games

Another factor that could swing it is if you're interested in capping Toney. Another is his YC situation...

      Good luck 🙂
