The final match of Blank Gameweek 28 features league-leaders Arsenal, who welcome managerless Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s troops head into the international break with a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points, while the Eagles sacked Patrick Vieira on Friday and are without a win in 2023 thus far.

Kick-off is at 14:00 GMT.

The hosts make just one change from the side that beat Fulham 3-0 in Gameweek 27, as Rob Holding replaces William Saliba, who had some “discomfort” and came off in the midweek game with Sporting CP.

That means Gabriel Magalhaes, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli all start, despite lasting 120 minutes in that match.

As for Crystal Palace, Paddy McCarthy makes two alterations, as Joel Ward and Luka Milivojevic come in for Nathan Clyne and Albert Sambi-Lokonga. The latter is on loan from Arsenal and unable to play against his parent club.

Joe Whitworth, meanwhile, is again in goal.

* Joachim Andersen has picked up an injury during the warm-up, so James Tomkins comes in to replace him. Jairo Riedewald moves onto the bench.

0-0 would actually work for me if Ben White keeps a CS and Saka blanks.

Went Odegaard over Martinelli on free hit, with Saka and Gabriel too. I'm pretty sure I'm going to regret it. Even so, after the pen miss on Thursday I kind of hope he does well anyway. Come on Arsenal!

Saliba out is one coin toss against me, but nothing so grim that it'll cause hassle. Selling for the DGW probably. Chilly maybe.

My only realistic way to Haaland GW30 without taking a hit is going Saka to Mac Allister in GW 29, tripling up with Mitoma and March.

    Whaddya think?

I like the move but don't see why you can't do 2 moves in 30? Saka a plum fixture but Mac has 2 , tough one

I wouldn't triple up on any team attack while we are having too many options atm.

Triple BHA mids fun for a week, bit impractical afterwards. Did you realise you would have to sell Saka when you started these moves? Seems like poor planning. Can't you just sell Watkins or even Kane?

In theory it sounds kinda bad.

I'd just wait until after the IB to make that call.

I think the biggest worry today would be any potential injuries for some of these Arsenal players after enduring Extra Time on Thursday.

Bit surprised Martinelli actually starts after playing all 120 minutes.

Team not looking any good with a manager losing the dressing room and players look out of form every time i watch them... I watched the game yesterday, they are not looking like a team at all.

Do what I’m doing. Lose him for the Everton game which I think could be a tricky fixture, and bring in a DGW player. Get him back if it looks as if everything is ok afterwards. Let’s face it, Conte’s relationship with the players hasn’t been close this season but Kane has consistently returned.

Spurs not playing well & look at Kane overall points

Yeah, ditto Toney. We need to remember that 20 league goals is normally an outstanding season.

They probably already expected him to leave at the end of the season. His rant now looks to shift the blame from himself for questionable performances to the players. It might motivate them. You never know.

    (repost Dear Fellow FPL Managers

I have 9 DGW players starters for GW29 my plans were looking at DGW but now not sure as Ward(Lei) not played which would have been on my bench & Saliba (Ars) single gw player injured plans thrown alot - any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    1. Play BB chip use FT to cover Ward
    2. Don't play BB chip just use FT
    3. Play BB chip use FT to cover Ward & Saliba taking a (-4) hit
    4. Any other ideas - my SGW players are Tarkowski/ Kilman/ Matinelli/Kane

I have WC,FH and BB remaining.
I was planning to BB GW29 with the following squad (with maybe one or two(-4) transfers:-

    Raya - Ward
    Trippier - Chilwell - White - Estupinan - Mings
    Rashford - Saka - Odegaard - Maddison - Mitoma
    Kane - Toney - Watkins £8m itb

The issues with a BB are -

    Ward (dropped)
    Estupinan ( possible 1 fixture)
Mings, Watkins ( 2 away fixtures)
Toney ( 1 YC away from 2- match ban)
    Raya ( not great fixtures)
No Haaland ( 8 goals in 2 games)

Is it better to WC GW 29 - sort out keepers, bring in Haaland, Isak etc, and BB at a later GW?

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Ward is the only real issue. Might sell Mings too given the fixtures. Would be a waste to WC here imo

This happened last cup game as well. It isn't gonna affect the league. U can get March to be safe but I wouldn't waste a transfer to get rid of MacAllister.

Yeah I agree I wouldn't sell him, could just be a knock-on effect of needing Groß at RB or wanting to give Undav some mins. Just something to keep an eye on
