The FFS Pro Pundits 34

We’re almost there. You’ve only got 16 more days of FPL thinking to do and after that, you can give your brain a well-earned rest.

The Solly March (£5.3m) injury has definitely dented some plans and I’ve been wondering which is the best route to go. If you ask me, the Brighton asset I’m most convinced about is Julio Enciso (£4.6m) but the problem is that he’s a forward and, given the fixtures, using a transfer on a forwards needs to go on one of the Newcastle United strikers.

I wrote my thoughts on the Magpies’ pair last week and we covered the entire conversation in way more depth than I had predicted in our latest episode of The FPL Wire. We had Pras from Burning Questions join Zophar and me, playing a fun scenario game with regards to Alexander Isak (£7.0m) and Callum Wilson (£7.1m). For that reason, I won’t be covering them here.

JULIO ENCISO

Back to Enciso, I think he’s a really good player on the eye, is always direct and usually places himself in and around the box. I think he’s good for game-time due to his versatility – he can play on either wing or as the number ten – but March’s absence makes me even more bullish on the youngster as I like his expected minutes for the remainder of the season.

I won't be able to do the whole "hope for a leak" thing. So I did Wilson.
      Just a vibe.
Don't think there's a right/wrong answer until after fact and you can't do anything at that point.

Yeah, leaning that way (hence listing him first), feel he might be worth chancing it since it's likely he gets auto subbed anyway if he's fully out.

Agh, I really want to get in Willock, but a player with three fixtures over one with four (Mac A) just seems so wrong!

    1. Hairy Potter
      • 11 Years
      3 years, 1 month ago

Willock looks the pick of the Newcastle mids, but tough to fit him in. Leeds, Brighton and Leicester are decent fixtures and Willock should play all. MacA might get rested on one of Brighton's matches of the four.

A friend of mine just asked me an FFL question. Here it is.

“Which of the following is generally considered to be the best time to press the button on transfers? Is it?”

    1) Friday night, post whatever Friday night activities may be considered acceptable within an alcohol-tolerant society.

    2) Saturday morning post Friday night.

I think he’s just looking for some general guidance so, let me know, ta.

    3) Something else?

    Kepa
    TAA, Trips, Botman, Estup
    Salah (V), Grealish, Mitoma, Mac
    Haaland, Isak (C)

    (Raya, Henry, Greenwood, Rashford)

I've done March to MacA and Alvarez to Wilson with my 2fts leaving this, somewhat template, starting 11:

    De Gea
    Trent, Shaw, Trippier*, Estupinan*
    Salah (vc), MacA*, Mitoma*
    Isak (c)*, Wilson*, Haaland

    (Iversen, Rashford, Grealish, Neco)

Think I might regret the Alvarez move, and 2fts would have been useful next week, but hopefully good to go.

a very good evening to you all...

1). Should I take a hit to bring in Pope?
2). Do I have the rest of this in correct order? (start Rashy over Alvarez etc?)

    ------------------------------
    Kepa
    ESTUPINAN / Trent / TRIPPIER(vc)
    MITOMA / ALEXIS / Salah / Grealish / *Rashford
    Haaland / WILSON(c)
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Subs: Raya; J.Alvarez, Shaw, Pinnock.
    ---------------------------------------------------

    1. Indio
      • 14 Years
      3 years, 1 month ago

      1) I wouldn't hit for Pope
      2) Bench order looks OK but the call to 'start' and injury doubt is always tricky - obvs there's an argument to start Shaw in 4-4-2. Good luck.

Yeah re: Shaw, I am happy to have Alvarez ahead of him either way... but yes, I agree with you Rashford doubt just depends how doubtful he is... will he be on the bench (Hopefully not) !! haha

Bit of a shame the March injury from an FPL perspective

    Last GW top 100k:
    49% had Mitoma + March
    16% had Mitoma + Mac
    7% had March + Mac
    1% had all three

So the Brighton attackers were split a bit. Now with March having 487k transfers out, Mac 452k in and Mitoma 116k in, you’ll end up with three quarters having the same two Brighton attackers.
