    My latest draft…

    Steele // Aréola
Shaw Gabriel Estupiñán Henry // Beyer
Salah Rashford Saka Mitoma // Vlašić
    Haaland Jesus // Archer

    1. Do you think this squad structure works?
    2. Is there a better alternative to Henry? I don't want to start Botman every week
    3. Is a Brighton keeper too risky?

I feel like I will be going with Salah. I get the captain argument but there aren't many players in the league that can score a hat trick in any given game. Depends on if you feel you can spread the money and beat his points with less consistent players.

    5. Mirror Man
      3 years, 1 month ago

Liverpool have bought really well. I'm expecting them to push hard for the title and for this reason I'll 100% have Salah. Trying to fit TAA in as well is difficult but I'll find a way eventually.

Like that midfield. My only concern is a Martinelli’s minutes due to the arrival of Havertz and if Trossard hits form. One to keep an eye out for in pre season!

Thing is we all thought martinelli would rotate last season when trossard got signed but he carried on banging in points. I can see Havertz playing number 8 where xhaka played. Plus even if he gets 70 mins every game first 3, I can see martinelli getting decent points with those fixtures

It could be, but from my experience going against the majority captain choice has usually ended in disaster unless it’s a tight battle. Haaland will be overwhelmingly captained.

No. I’m captaining Haaland. But I’m triple arsenal so I’ve got them covered with saka martinelli jesus. Didn’t City beat Burnley 6-0 last season in the fa Cup? If haaland gets hatrick then you’re probably going to be 8 millionth GW1 (if Jesus only gets 1 Vs Forest)

Then you’re laughing! It’s your team so go for it if you want. But as loads say “you can’t win FPL in the first few weeks but you can lose it”. Haaland will be so highly owned and captained that if he bangs Vs Burnley then you are well behind. If it was Kane Vs Forest at home I’d be a bit more enthusiastic but Jesus isn’t Kane

            True

            But he's at home

I bet one of Ødegaard, Saka, Martenelli or Jesus outscore Haaland but that's 1 in 4.

            Maybe 2 of them do?

I am picking both. I am absolutely NOT captaining Jesus over Haaland.

        Not Pickford?

I was playing with options and constructed a team of players that all have set pieces(except fodder and goalkeepers):
    4.5m GK
    Chillwell James Alexander-Arnold
    Son Saka March Andreas Rashford
    Mitrovic Haaland

    Subs: 4.0m GK 4.0 DEF 4.0 DEF 4.5m FWD

No to double Chelsea defence without more info on how good they are defensively (still a team with a lot of new players yet to gel). I would try and cover the 7.5m midfielder price bracket.

See, being on penalties is actually a bad thing for Mitrovic’s potential.

Mitrovic on the way out isn’t he?

I’d swap Mitoma for Eze. Do you plan to play bell every week?

No to the formation, similarly to a comment i made above, it offers little flexibility.

Pick defenders who will get you points, Bell is nothing but a bench player.

What if Jesus or Nunez etc. start the season on fire? What do you do then?

You haven’t covered the 7.5m midfielder price bracket either, to which there are many good options.

Too early to say, wait to see how liverpool set up in pre season. I’m on Salah with no information.

Not for me. Haaland has a home game.

Remember how bad Liverpool were defensively last season, and remember how Trent specifically was bad for 70% of the season. Definitely a wait and see, why take the chance.

Nah, most defenders and even TAA flattered to deceive for much of last season.

It's a roulette when spin to captain him.

Who’s your biggest dilemma? Enciso or no Enciso has been mines but my gut has been with him since the game released…

Trust your gut. Kid is a baller. Could be this season's Mitoma.

Who are your alternatives to him? Not seeing a ton in that 5.5m bracket.

I've picked him, he won't play every game so need a decent sub or 2 but he could be gold if Brighton perform well again.

You don't think he gets minutes in every game? With 5 subs I'd be surprised if he doesn't come off the bench in the games he doesn't start.

Done nothing with this Team for nigh on a week now:

    Pickford / Virginia
    Shaw / Gabriel / Botman / Cash / Baldock
    Rashford / Saka / Foden / Maddison / Enzo
    Haaland / Jesus / Nkunku

but it now comes down to a final thought
Foden vs Grealish - much of a muchness, toss of a coin, prospects enhanced for both if Mahrez and/or Silva move on
My gut says Foden, but suggests he wants to play more in midfield than on the wing. So Grealish is the smarter choice

    Heads or Tails?

    A. 4.5 keeper + Saliba + Tete (to rotate with Pinnock and Botman) + Jacob Ramsey
    B. 4.5 keeper + Saliba + Pervis + Andreas
    C. Ramsdale + Tete (to rotate with Pinnock and Botman) + Pervis + Andreas
    D. 4.5 keeper + Tete (to rotate with Pinnock and Botman) + Shaw + Andreas
