Can Diaz and Maddison cover Salah and Kane? 😀

    Ederson
    Stones Gabriel Estupinan
    Rashford Saka Martinelli Diaz Maddison
    Haaland Pedro

    Bench: Turner, Chilwell, Mubama, Kabore

    1.0m left itb

No, but they're good or at least potentially good options in their own right

Yep. I'm still thinking about whether it's worth upgrading one of them to Bruno or Jota.

    B. Salah, 4.5 mid, 4.5 fwd

If you go with B, will you play with them? If so there is no 4.5m fwd who will start.

Devoid of context it's obviously A, but if you're benching 2/3 then it's obviously B

Guaita represents any risk to Johnstone?

    1. Eyes of Blue

Doesn’t appear so. Think Guaita has been missing most of their pre season too and there’s been no word on any injuries so could be either out of favour and/or pushing for a move away.

    Hello

Is there something wrong with Ferguson and Welbeck? Some injuries I have missed? Considering Joao Pedro but I only like him if there are big enough question marks over the other two.

Pedro can cover striker, 10 and the right hand side. He's played a large amount in preseason as well.

    To Kane or to Salah

    SALAH
    Pickford
    Estu - Gabriel - Botman
    Bruno - Mitoma - Eze - Salah - Saka
    Haaland - Watkins

Bench: Areola / Baldock / Beyer / Mubama

    KANE

    Pickford
    Estu - Gabriel - Botman
    Bruno - Mitoma - Eze - Saka
    Haaland - Watkins - Kane

Bench: Nakamba / Areola / Baldock / Beyer

Or neither, the bench is too weak and Jackson over Watkins might help boost defence options

      Same dilemma.

You don't need "a strong bench" The only time you need a bench is when someone doesn't play in your first XI. You definitely don't want a bench player who scores 6 points when your starting player scores 2

Think those are fair points - For me Maddison and Son are on my watchlist - If spurs look half decent in their first 2 tough fixtures, I'm going to find a way to get them both in. Big if.

Community Shield was a clue that he needs more time on the training pitch learning the Arsenal way. Rice will be far better in the #8 role with Partey at #6 in the easy games; Rice deeper and Trossard at #8 in tricky fixtures.

Currently on Eze but I'm not sure why. Yeah he's the talisman, on pens and set pieces but the Palace squad just looks kind of bad to me though. How many goals are they really going to score with Zaha gone and Olise injured?

    1. MJF
      3 years, 3 days ago

I agree. My personal view FWIW is that Palace will concede few but also score few.

      • 8 Years

That's what put me off him as well. Think Olise was also a big factor in his resurgence. Palace just had that *semi-new* manager bounce at the end of last season and people have actually forgotten what Hodgson is like.

      1. I Member
        • 11 Years

Yeah exactly. Olise was the main creator and Hodgson has never been an attacking manager. The Eze preseason form factor is also being overhyped imo. 4 of his returns were against Crawley Town.

I’m on the same - just can’t look past that Luton fixture.

I would say they're going to struggle if there weren't half a dozen slides in worse shape. The squad is looking mediocre and I don't see many FPL points at either end.
That Johnstone/Turner GK rotation is going to prove as regrettable as the Ward/Iversen trick of last year.

If you were a psychic and told me any literally combination of Luton, Sheff, Burnley, Palace, West Ham, Wolves, Everton, Fulham, Forest went down I’d believe you.

I don't get the Eze love when Mitoma is available at the same price

Have you seen Mitoma try to score?

Against a Luton defence? Not yet.

He had more attacking returns than Eze last season in 300 less minutes.

You could apply a similar rationale to Mbeumo

Does anyone has a spot in a competitive draft league? Love draft but public leagues rarely come with enough challenge.

    Afternoon!

My team is likely to be:

    Johnstone
    Stones Estu Gabriel
Foden Bruno Rash Ode Saka (c)
    Halaand Pedro

    Turner, Chilwell, 4.0, 4.5

I feel pretty happy with it, thoughts appreciated. Going to go against Haaland for captaincy this week.

Nice team. Brave to bet against Haaland Week 1!! If he pops off you will be playing catch up straight away...
