I guessed right that KDB would have been subbed early if he didn't get injured then. Does beg the question why you wouldn't simply give him the 2nd half or about 30 mins (+ injury time) instead if you felt he wasn't able for more though

I think KDB is gone as a footballer now. Once there are recurring injuries the player is not only ruined physically but mentally. Reminds me of Michael Owen. They are never the same player again.

Thanks for clarifying. I think the point ultimately is that there was a lot of different stories and I am sure a lot of Chinese whispers. I’m sure there is a lesson in all of this about ignoring ‘itk’ last minute news but, as a Gabriel owner and a Saka capper (and someone who has work getting in the way of Friday deadline streams) as long as Gabriel starts and Saka scores a hatty I’ll be a cheery otter.

Done nothing illegal though. Gambling may well ruin many lives as does alcohol to certain individuals that don't or can not do either responsibly.
I don't give a hoot if they make money from advertising either.
It's the Nanny State and censorship of truth that irritates the hell out of me.

Here we go. Heard the same when they banned alcohol as football shirt sponsors, stopped cigarettes being advertised on tv, banned smoking in pubs etc etc etc. The whole point of a government is to fix problems in society and gambling is and in particular it being advertised to an audience that includes children is very dodgy.

They may not be breaking the law but running or being involved in money leagues is. I’d love it if they banned a few influencers. Imagine a few of them getting their account deleted hahaha

Yes, I'm firmly against the Nanny State and believe industries, that are legal, should be able to advertise their products freely in a free market place with certain sensibilities.

Freedom of contract doesn’t mean freedom from consequence. Yes FFS is legally entitled to contract with the gambling industry and promote as it has chosen to do and in doing so has chosen to focus on profit over social responsibility. That is their choice. The terms of those arrangements is something the BBC and posters on here (for some time) are entitled to call out.

Beyer blanks GW2 and will surely be benched by all owners GW3 and 4. Then there's the international break. So at the earliest you'd consider starting him is GW5 v Forest, by which time you'd expect him to be back.

He blatantly has suspect character, wanted United at first then talked up Madrid, handed in a transfer request & publicly said goodbye to Brighton for Arsenal, said he wanted only Chelsea then was on his way to Liverpool before doing a u turn, all this after signing a new contract in Jan after Brighton told him to stay away from training.

Great player, badly advised, suspect character.

No doubt if Madrid or Barca come calling in a couple of years Chelsea will have the same thing to deal with.

      1. Andy_Social
        • 13 Years

The new contract was for the benefit of Brighton, who leveraged it to get an enormous transfer fee. They don't care where he goes; they just want as much money as possible. Good business I say, but why are you calling out the player and not the club for the same thing?

I get that from Brightons side but the player didn’t have to sign it and was badly advised to when he was doing his best to force himself to Arsenal, what did he think signing a contract with do? Help him? It got him more money which seems like the motivation here.

Brighton have done what’s right for the club, bet they couldn’t believe their luck when he agreed to sign in Jan.
