How did Eze look? I’m considering Eze->Mbeumo. Is Eze also on pens?

Apparently very unlucky not to have hauls big. Goal involvement was about 0.92 I think.

      @OptaJoe

Against Sheffield United today, @EbereEze10 became the fourth player on record (since 2003-04) to have 8+ shots and create 7+ chances in a Premier League match:

Frank Lampard v Stoke, Jan 2009
      Nani v Birmingham, Jan 2011
David Silva v WBA, March 2015

      Busy.

Eze/Mbuemo were constantly being swapped in and out of my draft pre-deadline. They both have good fixtures and they are both on free kicks and pens. You could say Brentford are more attacking and create more chances but I think it will be close between them for the first 4-6 GW’s. Swapping to the one who scored in a single match because your guy never isn’t a great strategy, particularly when you probably spend time deciding why you wanted Eze in the first place.

I'm holding Eze for now. Looked really good to the eye against Sheffield. Everything went through him.

I haven't seen that game yet so maybe this isn't really helpful... but the thing for me is, yes I'd absolutely expect everything to flow through Eze, he's about as talismanic as they come now. The issue is can anyone else finish the chances he's creating. That's what I'm looking out for when deciding whether to bring him in later on

I went for eze over mbuemo/diaby and was kicking myself. However from looking at his stats, and the eye test during the highlights he could have easily scored much more.

Still maybe considering eze to diaby, but probs hold for now and save a transfer.

I can’t afford both Salah and TAA at the same time and have got TAA already. If I get Salah for KDB, I will have to sell Trent though. What do you think, I couldn’t watch the full game but they both looked good I think.

Don’t rip up your team for Liverpool players just yet. Some tough upcoming fixtures. Look linger term rather than just the Bournemouth fixture. Gakpo or Diaz are better value routes into the Liverpool attack if you want one and are the most nailed.

I disagree, he’s a clinical finisher and can play false 9 to assist the wingers.

Providing they get in a #6 in time and deploy him properly. The glaring omission had knock-on effects all over the pitch.

He got a knock, who knows the extent. And he is also injury prone and could get injured in training. He was also subbed when he looked really threatening (it could’ve just been tactical though).

He had a clash in the first half. Came back on and played. Have you never had a hit in a game of footie? Sore one for a bit but you play on.

Agree though that his place isn't super secure but I still think he'll start again. They need his pressing ability while they are short a midfielder.

I have had a knock - yes. But i would hold off until you’ve seen a weeks full of training pics and Klopp’s press conference.

Personally i see Nunez starting the Bournemouth game ahead of him. Long term - Jota (if fit) will likely feature in more games than Nunez.

Maguire was so frustrating in front of goal at United - would get his head on everything, but it would never go in. Took 141 shots (vast majority being set-piece headers) and only got 38 on target (7 goals from 8.7xG).

    Easy save?

    Onana*
    Chilwell Saliba Estupiñán
    Rashford Fernandes Saka Martinelli
    Haaland Jackson Pedro
    Turner // Eze Udogie Kabore

May switch Onana (TOT, A) with Turner (SHU, H). Eze on the bench for now but he's vs. ARS.

Very happy I got the decisions on benching Jackson (or Watkins in a close 2nd draft) for Pedro despite me and a couple of others getting slated for even considering it - although aware fortune was there too... but I'll take it given somehow Eze blanked with those numbers!

    It’s either Gvardiol to a 4.5

My gut tells me that Fernandes doesn’t offer more than Maddison but let’s see tonight.

Tbh I don't really agree with this. Chilwell was playing like he did yesterday in every preseason game even with a back 4, and I don't think there's much to fear from WHU. Generally I advocate for rolling the first FT but if you want to get him in now I see no reason not to

Why? He probably only score a few more points than whoever you chose instead and that was in the easiest fixture he will have all season. All downhill from here for Estupinan...

Going to be firesold in GW3, so if he blanks in GW2 the damage hasn't been too bad.

    Gw2 ready?

    Ederson
    Chilwell estupinan Shaw
    Mitoma saka rashford maddison
    Watkins haaland

For final spot I'm tempted by getting Mbuemo in for the fixtures and benching Gabriel then sort him out next week. Thoughts?

    1. Gabriel to Saliba
    2. Eze to mbuemo

Eze was very unlucky not to return, had about 0.5xG and 0.8xA. I'd hold. I'm personally looking at Mitoma to Mbuemo in GW4.

Don't sell Eze he looked too good. Gabriel I wouldn't waste a transfer on just yet - I think he'll play the majority of games. If he gets benched / gets a 1pt cameo one more time though I'll sell.

Could be wrong, but I thought he was a Mendy replacement. The Kepa to Madrid news came out after he was signed (I think) and they're looking to sign a proper keeper - sure I saw they were looking at Diogo Costa.

    Pickford
    Trippier, Estu, Gabriel
    Eze, Salah, Saka, Trossard
    Pedro, Isak, Haaland
    (4m, Emerson, Anderson, Cash)

A - Trippier to Chillwell (free)
    B - Gabriel, Trossard > Chillwell, ~6.5mid
C - Hold and hope Chillwell doesnt haul/price rise

I trust Richarlison's arrogance to demand penalties and score goals from purely selfishness.
Maddison will be near to top of the assists chart, but goals scored are more important.
Eg, if Richarilson scores 12 goals then Maddison would need to register 20 assists to match these points.

Keep Richarlison and hope one day he could hit the back of a barn door or transfer for Eze/ Mbeumo (or any other suggestion for £7.5m)?

Stick with it. Both good replacements but I'd only look to make a change this early in the season if there's an injury.

I'm going to watch the United match then either hold for the fixtures or swap him and 4.5 for Jackson and 4.5. Or just bring in Mbuemo.
