    Hi chaps

    Onana
    Chillwell - Gabriel - Estupinan
    Ødegaard - Saka - Mbuemo - Bruno - Rashford
    J. Pedro - Haaland
    ___________________________________
    Turner: Stones: Baldock: Mubama

Just pondering a combination of some moves, main ones being:

    A) Stones > James
    B) Gabriel > James
    C) Bruno > L. Diaz
    D) Bruno > Maddison
    E) Bruno + Rashford > Salah + 6.0 MID (-4)
    F) Forget about it and roll FT

What moves do you think are worth it here if any before price changes?

    Many Many thanks!

Cheers bud, actually straight forward sound advice haha!
I think I’d be knot booting Stones to save the 0.1 when it’s likely he could fit to play, same goes for Gabriel I suppose

Bruno to Diaz stands out most to me, but need a little more time to ponder it.
Think I’ll sit tight tonight then and suck up a price drop for Stones if it happens. Thanks man

With KDB out and other changes, a canny addition to City's starting XI would be ... Cancelo. I don't know if Pep and him have had an irreparable breakdown, but tactically it would make a lot of sense. Keep an eye on him.

I also thought Cancelo may be back in Pep's good books after the amount of time he got in pre-season. Could easily play him in a midfield role.

Yeah, if you're making this kind of move, you have to at least acknowledge you are correcting an error (picked a non-nailed player and wasn't prepared to wear the risk) and learn from the process. Otherwise you'll just keep wasting FTs

Guys should I hold Trossard or transfer out for a -4?
Trossard will be benched again. Nketiah did well enough to earn another start. Unless Arteta thinks he’s Pep now.
My bench is: Chukwu, Udogie, Baldock.

    Trossard ➡️ Diaby (6.5 mid) -4 ?

I'm guessing with comment a hit (-4) you have already made a transfer.

I was thinking of Trossard but was undecided before GW1 as not certain after CS what team manager would play

Yes I did Stones to Chilly for free.
I’m not too keen on the 6.5 mids from Brighton, I feel like the points will be spread quite a bit. Might see a lot of rotation with Europe, we had a glimpse of De Zerbis rotation towards the end of last season and their fixtures are turning soon. Diaby the most exciting but do you think the service yo him is hindered with Buendia injury?

anyone playing draft ?, i would be interested to see some teams and scores, especially from 8 man leagues, its my first time playing it this year so still just getting used to how it works, but that being said i feel like i had a really good week with 55pts in an 8 man league, it would have been 60 had i known Awoniyi was fit as i would have played him over MGW for sure, imo picking the likes of Haaland is easy but being forced to pick some of the lesser lights is a lot more challenging and fun

    next weeks team,

*getting waivered out for one of the guys in brackets

    Kepa* (Sanchez, Leno, Turner)
    TAA, Konate, Estupinian
    Saka, Bowen, MGW, Doucoure
    Awoniyi, Wissa, Wellbeck

Johnstone, Shaw, Trippier, Buendia* (Barnes, Rodri, H Wilson)

Not sure I love that from an 8 man league. Saka ok but Trent, Trippier, Bowen, Estu.. not sure where the points come from. Love Wissa if you didn’t overpay, I think he’s a lock for 15 returns

the way i played it was Saka my first pick, then the next 4 i think was defenders, then Bowen then scraping the barrel, i thought it was a good idea to go for high scoring nailed on defenders first since i had the idea in my head that draft was all about playing the long game, it was only afterwards that i was told on here that its best to go for the best attackers first as you can rotate out the defenders based on fixtures (assuming you can actually get the ones you want) i also only watched a couple of videos on how to play draft after i actually did the draft lol, that being said i am actually pretty happy with this team, so lets see how it goes 🙂 , cheers

Playing for first time as well, in fact, the whole 8 team league is new to the draft format (at least for EPL, all have done drafts in loads of other fantasy sports).

Scores ranged from 52 to 39, so 55 seems good.

Sadly, I was the 39. Picked 8th, very randomly and had a few non-starters, result is 8th haha.

      10 team league
      52 points
      Steele Johnson
      Chilwell Akanji Pinnock Cash Burn
      Salah Martinelli Eze Mbeumo Diaby
      Jackson Edouard Morris

Benching Morris over Jackson cost 7 points.
Strikers are thin on the ground

that's a really good team for a 10 man league, lots of those players i'd go for in regular FPL, im jealous that you managed to get Diaby, he was only added to the game after i did my draft, and i tried to waiver him in for the injured Buendia, but the guy with Haaland in my league got him which is annoying, anyway 52 seems a decent score from what i've seen so far so gl 🙂

Have played draft every season since it started - your team looks decent.

      Here’s mine (8 Team league):
      Onana
      TAA Gabriel Tarkowski
      Saka Luis Diaz March Diaby
      Ferguson Mitrovic Solanke
      Bench: Allison Ruben Porro MGW

I prioritized defenders and one goalie this draft, but made sure I had at least one decent mid. In past drafts I found that I switched around mids/forwards a lot depending on form, but a solid defence was pretty much set and forget (unless injuries). I did this draft soon after the game launched, so I made sure you put a claim in for pre-season emergers, which is why I have Onana and Diaby. I scored 60 with this team, which I am extremely happy with.

Draft is a long game, and can be a lot of fun. The main drawback as I see it is players who stop playing part way through the season for whatever reason, which typically happens in a public league. I was fortunate to be a part of a private league one season and it was great fun, with managers engaged for much longer. So stick with it and good luck!

        • 8 Years

wow 60, very nice, that's a really good team tbf with a strong defense and decent mid, there is a dearth of good forwards so even your forward line is ok except for Mitro as he may or may not still not go, if i were you i'd play MGW over Mitro this week given the fixtures and the uncertainty surrounding Mitro atm

and yeah i can see players quitting being a big problem alright, potentially locking the likes of Salah or Haalland out of the game for everyone else, the guy in my league that had Kane as his first pick probably quit already lol

Yes, I’m definitely playing MGW, but I may go 3 5 2 this week with Mitro and Ferguson up top with Solanke first sub away to Liverpool (unless Mitro goes of course). Nothing can go wrong with that setup, right??

          1. lugs
            • 8 Years
            2 years, 6 months ago

actually yeah you're right, it makes more sense to play Mitro for his potential upside in case he starts, over Solanke who is likely to get 2pts max, even Ferguson can get good points from the bench if he doesn't start with this new injury time rule, so your team looks in good shape to me, best of luck 🙂

Because I like to have fun, I couldn't resist a -8 to turn Tripper into Isak (before the price rise), via double 4.0 keepers. Thought Tripper was going to turn into James, but got over excited.

Gives me this fun sprinkling of attacking talent:

      Turner
      Estupinan, Chilwell, Udogie
      Salah, Saka, Rashford, Maddison
      Haaland, Isak, Pedro

Isak may be worth it early in the season.

I think he's our first choice central striker, as he offers more to the team than Wilson does. It didn't work at the end of last season when they were played together (Wilson central, Isak on the left). Now we've got Barnes and a fit / improved Gordon, can't see Wilson and Isak starting together.

When the European games start though, I think there will be a lot of rotation in starts between the two of them and across the competitions. And, as we say on Saturday, when one starts I'd be surprised if they regularly completed 90 minutes and instead we'll see the other coming on as a sub approx 65 / 70 minutes.

Nice squad; BB week one looks like it worked well. Lots of similar picks as I had in drafts. I went off double arsenal def on the Gabriel news. Went off Johnstone on the Turner transfer. I had Alvarez Jota to your Gakpo Foden. Should be a fun one!

I tripled up on United attackers and regret it now. They were very very poor. Ten Haag's tactics were awful. To dump them now would be kneejerk (although I'll bench Garnacho) and I'll assume he's been rethinking his tactics over this week. Then GW3 is Forest home. But after that, if they're still a mess, I start offloading them - Bruno first for one of the players you're considering, or Maddison. But right now, patience is the word, I think.

It seems we are in a similar boat. It would be tipical for Bruno to go off against Spurs who have gaps in behind all over the place. Outside of the defender changes it is my hot topic.

I started the season with Mbeumo and Eze. Certainly holding both for the foreseeable. Agree diaby looks excellent, but to only have 1, I’d say fixtures lean towards mbeumo the most. Can’t believe he’s so low owed tbh. Think quite a few jumped off him before deadline due to being flagged.

The Chilwell love over James is abit overwhelming. It was quite clearly a specific tactic vs Liverpool to target the left side vs Trent. Expect James to be alot more involved going forward

I’m confused. Left flank has Robertson not Trent. James was more involved in the build up play from what I saw, more crosses while Chilwell was involved in making runs through the defence. I call it penetration. Anyway they targeted both flanks equally.

If James is on pens I kinda prefer him only if on pens because he is a made of glass

I tend to agree. But Chilwell has been like this preseason too. RJames came off early and I think he is still a little brittle.

I would say not. They look like “vanity” transfers to me.

Probably should have been the first transfer you made, but yes I'd do it.

You're getting a nailed on starter whose going to score a lot of points for you.
